  1. Well, deadline did say re-imagining and not straight remake. I guess that could mean anything but changing genders of the lead wouldn't be unimaginable if they changed the time frame of the story. ETA: After reading the Variety article, you're probably right. Ahh, hoping it's still something good.
  2. Three Don't get me started on Metzner. I'm sure you've heard about the interview he gave where he basically admitted to salivating over how good Lyndie looked in a dress when she walked into the bar where all the cast was. He said he just knew he had to get her character out of her combat gear and into something sexier and have her let her hair down. Blech. From his twitter pics he also seems to have a fetish for ladies in tight outfits and samurai gear. In hindsight, Katrina with a katana strapped to her back, (that she never used) makes sense. Blech again. He did tweet about Nicole but it was in a tweet about something else. The BTS pic was from season one, I'm sure of it. I need to take hard look at myself and why I gave anything this creature was involved with the time of my day. As for Crane carrying the show, I think if they renew they may have fair ratings but once the premiere wears off and people realize there's something missing, it won't be good. Abbie has always been the POV for the audience. Regular viewers may not discuss it the way we do but they will feel it. BOBBYSGURL I'm so glad you posted that clip. Len Wiseman couldn't believe they got Nicole. If that doesn't say everything I don't know what else to say. She really was making a name for herself at the time. I bet she was so excited and nervous to be signed on to be a lead in a new pilot. The thing is, everything after the middle of the first season probably made her raise her eyebrows. I can't imagine how she was feeling. Her contemporaries from Julliard include Danielle Brooks and Samira Wiley who are getting accolades for their acting in OINTB (a show that celebrates diversity)and she was slowly being relegated to sidekick who rolls her eyes at nonsense on a show that has crappy writing. Seriously, look back at season two threads, someone counted her eye rolls and it was in the 20's in one episode. I will never hold anything against her for wanting better in her professional life and I've been side-eyeing that person who wanted to drop that blind item in here the other day. Things have become more clear to me about this season since that Variety article. It was said she was unhappy and wanted off the show. The show didn't dispute her. She was supposed to be gone after the mid-season finale. IMO, everything went downhill after that. I think they got scared about ratings. I think this is the only way she was allowed to wear her natural hair (which seemed to be an issue with the producers ) and the reason things were so disjointed. Before they filmed that mid-season episode she was active on twitter; went dragon con seemingly in good spirits. I even recall a BTS video where she was joking around with Tom. I think she was done after that though. She probably thought she was free to pursue other opportunities and they were like nope we need you for the rest of the season. Not only did they keep her on, they used their viewers for everything they were worth. I'm waiting for the hit stories about Nicole from "unnamed sources" laying blame on her for their lackluster season. Did you notice in her statement on twitter "Abbie Mills has done all she was meant to" was in quotes? She knows the difference between her words and others As for FOX and the original producers, I don't know everything that happened but Len Wiseman is still making pilots for them and Orci still seems to hold them in high regard. It may have just been FOX wanting them for other things and they left Goffman to take over. Didn't Orci continue to write the Star Trek movies? Are they produced under FOX? The only one who seems weird to me is Iscove. He's out there tweeting about izombie mentioning Sleepy Hollow and how much Liv would love Ichabod. ETA: I think it's hilarious that the writers and the official twitter are only able to retweet random fans here and there. Not one critic or recapper think their "bold move" was anything to celebrate, in fact most of them are asking the same things we are. Why would your lead actress want to leave? Why did this season suck so bad?
  3. I guess I meant I'm not speaking for Tom Mison. Just giving my perspective of things I've noticed. It is a little clunky. Sorry.
  4. I hope this shows up. I didn't know all of these women have been doing these hangouts all season. I'm completely heartbroken. These are women, majority black women who have been championing this show all season. Even when fandom was at it's lowest they were so positive. I recognize some of these ladies from tumblr and twitter. These are women who have held on because they saw themselves reflected back at them in a genre where black women don't thrive. If FOX/ SH writers didn't realize who their fanbase was, I have no words. All they had to do was write her off properly. It makes me wonder if they knew what they were doing and didn't care.
  5. I guess my UO is even though I'm not here to protect anyone or put words in any actors mouth, I hope for the sake of Tom Misons career, they cancel this show. I've seen the comic con video and he definitely doesn't look like someone who believes what he's saying. It also looked to me like after he said it ends on a high note and we won't be disappointed that he was holding back the bile creeping up in his throat. He couldn't even explain the storylines to the people in the audience. He was like please explain them to me. In fact, he only lit up when discussing his other films. For all the problems this season and last, he really has been the one person to say his character absolutely doesn't work without Nicole. His fans (not here; on other forums and twitter) never really listened though. He seems creatively frustrated and has since season one. He said he brought ideas to the producers that he and Nicole were keen on but they didn't want to go that way. He also mentioned having great projects he's had to turn down. That doesn't make me think he's happy at all. Regarding getting out of contracts, from what I've heard it's extremely difficult and expensive. I don't wish ill will on anyone not wanting to do that. I don't think Nicole's been officially let out of her contract either. I just can't watch a show, no matter how much I enjoy an actor, that narratively told me the lead female character is expendable.
  6. I figured this was the right thread for my complaints. I let my feelings out about what they did to Abbie in the episode thread. FWIW...If they had killed off Ichabod I would've been done with the show too. I was pretty much just watching for the two of them anyway. Once they took one of them out of the equation the wool was lifted from my eyes. This season the show at it's basic core sucked. I was bored most of the time just waiting around for the witnesses to do anything together. They introduced lame characters and couldn't write a tight story to save their lives. Here is where I'm getting pissed off. After reading they planned on killing Abbie off midseason but got cold feet, the second half started to make sense. It seems as though they tried to appease to every subset of the fandom they could to get fantastic ratings for the finale. Probably to secure their 4th season. They baited the ship so hard that even non-shippers were all over it. They baited the Abbie fans who were still looking for Ichabod to make amends for some of his past behavior. They baited the fans who just wanted Abbie to have love. They baited the fans who just wanted some season one goodness. They obviously cut Betsy scenes and droppped Zoe like she didn't exist. They brought in Ezra Mills at the last minute They did all of this knowing they were about to kill her off. They knew if they even hinted she was being killed off they wouldn't have had half the viewers for the finale. Instead of giving her a proper goodbye we got that incredibly hollow, offensive death scene because they wanted people to watch. I feel so gross about this show now. My heart hurts for what could have been and the excitement I felt after the finale last year. I feel pretty foolish too.
  7. I'm probably just being nitpicky but it read Abigail Mills and not Grace Abigail Mills. I would've thought her full name would be on there.
  8. Onira Tares (Grace Dixon) and Orlando Jones tweeted some nice words to Nicole. One of the writers posted some BTS pic from season 1 and thanked her. That's all I found.
  9. In every wild depressing scenario I could come up with not once did I think they would decimate the character of Abbie Mills. To me, Abbie was the hero of this story. (That's not a knock on Ichabod but I truly saw her that way.) I could count on that through all the crappy stories and nonsense characters being thrown at us. Yet, in one meaningless episode, it was all taken away. She just gave up. She went out with a whimper and an acknowledgement that she was nothing more than a prop. Damn, even Katrina went out fighting. I can deal with death. I wouldn't have continued watching but I would have looked back on past episodes admiring and loving this character. I can't even do that now. I love that they thought bringing back headless and August would win them accolades. I also love that they didn't confirm her death until it was well into the second half hour. They used Abbie Mills for everything and tossed her out as if she was some guest star. I'm sure NB saw the writing on the wall long ago. The way her character ended up just proves what she was probably thinking all along anyway. They couldn't even be bothered to get her name right on her headstone. Hacks.
  10. Please tell me role playing Ichabod is involved. I'm liking the new showrunner interacting with fans. It makes me feel like he was as much a fan as the rest of us.
  11. Ha! I was trying to be nice. Though, she did shed a singular tear, that one time..... Ugh, Metzner is so gross. He did comment on how good she looked dressed up and that was why he wanted her out of her normal vest and pants. Were the "hater" tweets after the Deliverance episode? Yes! I never believed otherwise.
  12. I was asking more along the lines of, please tell me this wasn't an acting choice. So I agree with what you're saying here. This is what I mean by contradictory story telling. This is what they show us. The words don't match the actions though. How were we supposed to root for True Love if they don't even seem like they want to be near each other. So what were we supposed to believe? The marriage was doomed or the marriage will endure all? I'm still confused.
  13. I think this whole scene would've actually come off as ironically funny if they had shown us Katrina being a powerful witch opposed to telling us over and over again. Instead, no one actually believed she was powerful. So, not being able to reach into a jar of fake rats just added onto the pile of things Katrina failed at. I honestly think they were going for funny. Yes! Ichabod was trying to pull the guy out of the painting and she stood there. She didn't even blink, just stood there. This can't just be an acting choice, right? It had to have been the directors choice but why would a director tell someone to just stand there in a scene like that? Also, when they are observing the couple getting handsy and Ichabod makes the joke about getting a room, she again just stares. She had no reaction at all. I don't think I've ever seen another show actively contradict what's coming across on screen by telling the audience something different. Did they not trust the audience? Were they going for some big reveal at the end of the season and this was the only way to confuse people? It still bothers me.
  14. Great news!!! I just went to look at the new guys twitter. This was the same day as Goffman's exit press release. Ha! https://twitter.com/CCInnuendo/status/575448875533664256
  15. I thought I was going crazy when I noticed the large percentage gains. It was odd, to say the least. Third place out of 64 couples is good though. Especially since most are/were established couples. I don't watch TVD ot OUAT so I don't know those other characters but visually they seem interchangable. I'm guessing it's dark haired reformed bad boy and blonde girl, with a heart of gold, who may have lost her way a time or two? Orlando cracks me up. I think his trollandish ways were lost amongst the groups of rabid fans. My favorite was his twitter convo with Kristin Dos Santos. That really sent some people spiraling.
