  1. Every couple has their happy sunshine phase and their angst phase though. Ridge and Caroline had what 3-6 months of being happy and now they are doing the angst, whereas Rick and Maya had a couple of months of angst and are now in the sunshine phase. It always ebbs and flows until a couple breaks up for good. Besides I think it's a bit too early to declare that the Raya surrogacy will go off without a hitch. There are at least 4 drama-filled surrogacy plot lines that are soap staples: The bio-daddy and the surrogate bond over the pregnancy and fall in love - They probably won't go this route if the surrogate is Nicole, especially since they have already blown their wad on a "creepy older guy pursues a technically legal but childlike girl" with Ridge and Caroline. The surrogate is a crazy Sheila type who falls in love with the bio-dad and plans to murder the barren wife and take over her life - Again, they probably won't do this if Nicole is the surrogate, but if she turns it down and a stranger becomes the surrogate... Insemination mishaps - Either a Brooke/Taylor situation where Nicole gets the wrong sperm/egg implanted, or Nicole will miscarry the Raya baby but then get pregnant with Zende ala Maxie on GH. Surrogate steals the baby - Nicole will grow to love her bio-baby and will not want to give it up to Rick and Maya, resulting in a dramatic custody fight.
  2. Thomas being the father doesn't have to end Caroline and Ridge's marriage though. She can co-parent the baby with Thomas and still stay married to Ridge. Ridge doesn't get to steal his son's kid because it will make his marriage uncomfortable. Just like Thomas wouldn't have any right to demand that Caroline leave Ridge and marry him just because they share a spawn. I don't see why it would be a publicity disaster either. Surely the Forrestor shareholders and customers are used to the marriage merry-go-rounds with this family. Hell, there has already been a father/son/blonde lady switcheroo with Eric/Ridge/Brooke and Forrestor is still standing. Just recently Caroline divorced one Forrestor brother and married another brother and the company didn't collapse. Besides, I don't see why Ridge being the step-parent of a child he is related to should be such a big deal for him. He was with Brooke when Rick and Bridget were kids and was essentially a step-parent to his half-siblings before he went back to Taylor. I don't think that was ever presented as being some huge insurmountable issue. So does Thorne take a really long time to make a sandwich, or is Ridge "done" in the time it takes someone to slap some butter on a piece of bread.....?
  3. Ridge has continually chased after women that were either married to or dating his dad and both his brothers and he never seemed to give it a second thought. It was only a year ago he was creeping on the Child Bride, who was married to Rick, because he had the fashion designer equivalent of erectile disfunction and she was his barely legal viagra. He has also raped two women, so he's currently twice the sexual predator that Thomas is. I pretty much see Thomas as Ridge 2.0 because they are exactly the same person. Thomas seems to have taken in everything Ridge has done and used it as a model for how to be a terrible human being. And Ridge now throwing a hissy fit about a) his son creeping on his wife; and b) Thomas sleeping with an incapacitated woman, is the height of hypocrisy. Ridge is definitely getting hit with the karma stick right now.
  4. I am neutral on Gabby, but I have zero problem with her being released from jail after a year or whatever it was. Serving one year for murder is one year more than most soap characters serve for their crimes. Like, Salem has Stefano and Victor wandering around freely and they have huge body counts and have been responsible for kidnapping and/or raping lots of different ladies. So Gabby murdering Nick the creepy attempted rapist gets a pass from me. Not to mention, Theresa tried to kill John with a poker or some shit and she didn't have to serve any jail time. EJ raped Sami, stole John's money, was a drug dealer and did a bunch of other shit and the only time he spent in jail was for a crime he didn't actually commit (apart from the end of his run when Sami set him up). Sami also shot EJ in the head (I was cheering her on with this, the only issue I have is that she didn't kill his sorry ass) and she didn't go away for attempted murder. So if any of the Hortons are going to huff and puff about Gsbby being free they can take all the seats. Maggie is married to Victor, who is a murdering, drug dealing rapist. Jenn married someone who committed rape. The list goes on.
  5. Ridge just proved again what a spectacular asshole he is, not to mention a terrible father. He is planning on stealing someone else's kid, which is bad enough, but he's actually stealing his own kid's kid. And it's all because he has a bruised ego. Gross. Not to mention, he is veering into emotionally abusive territory, what with ordering his Child Bride around and telling her how things are going to be. Because I guess she doesn't get a say in what happens with her own child. I don't like Thomas at all, but Ridge is just so repellant that I automatically root for him to lose every time. When the truth eventually comes out I wonder if Thomas will give his Forrestor shares to Rick/Eric, and then Rick will be back in control and oust Steffy/Ridge from power and give Thomas a promotion? (Or maybe not necessarily even give/sell them, but just agree to vote against Steffy/Ridge).
  6. There's not really any drama if the baby is Ridge's though. Besides, I think they need to start populating the younger generation of Forrestors by having Rick, Thomas and Steffy etc procreate. For that reason, I would guess Thonas will be the father (if the pregnancy is a tick). I agree with the scenario posted upthread that it would have been much better if the had spent a few months on Rick/Maya and Ridge/Caroline baby drama, then had Rick/Caroline commiserate / hook up resulting in her getting pregnant.
  7. Well I guess Thomas really is Ridge's son. Didn't Ridge rape Caroline 1 and Brooke at some point?
  8. I can definitely see Caroline sleeping with Thomas and then getting back with Ridge, only to discover she's pregnant. But there is another possibility: Caroline will have IVF to try to to have a baby with Ridge at the same time a Raya surrogate (Nicole?) is getting impregnated with Rick's sperm. Cue a Brooke/Taylor style mix-up where Caroline gets impregnated with Rick's sperm and Raya surrogate gets Ridge's. Then they will probably have the Caro pregnancy a tick and the Raya surrogate a tock.
  9. My theory is: Cop Dad = Brandon James' older brother (possibly he had plastic surgery, otherwise we are just supposed to fanwank that no one recognises him). He isn't involved with the killings but he is trying to get psychological revenge on Daisy for her perceived role in screwing over Brandon. His plan is to get her to fall in love with him then break her heart. He might be responsible for sending the pig heart and some of the other Daisy-related stuff, but nothing murder-related. Kieran = Brandon James' younger brother who was born after Brandon died and the family moved away. Thus, he is Cop's brother and not his son (explaining their very weird vibe that doesn't seem like a real parent/child relationship), but they played the son card to keep up appearances. After his parents died (probably from old age), he found out about Daisy, Brandon and Emma's dad being the real killer etc. He also found out about the Brandon/Daisy baby (Piper) and those two met each other. He knows about Cop's revenge plan but decided to go one better and start killing people. He copied the revenge-dating thing from Cop though and his romance with Emma is part of the plan. Piper = Brandon/Daisy baby given up for adoption. Once she found out who she was and that Brandon was framed, she decided to team up with Kieran for the murders. Nina/Tyler - They had somehow found out that Cop Dad was Brandon's brother and were trying to blackmail him about it (remember there was a file with Cop's name on Nina's computer). Kieran discovered this and he and Piper decided Nina and Tyler would be good first candidates to kill Rachel / Riley - Kieran and Piper didn't have anything against them personally, but they were killed to screw with Emma. Will - He was killed to mess with Emma and because Kieran was pissed Emma still had feelings for him.
  10. If they are going to copy Melaswen era killings they at least better have a corpse fall out of a piñata again.
  11. If we are getting Ciara and Theo as teens, I wish they would have Allie come and live with Lucas and make her a teen. She has been shown as a peer to those 2 for the past few years. I'm not thrilled with Claire coming back because I bet it will be BadGirlCiara vs GoodGirlClaire and it will just be a Sami vs Carrie redux, especially if Claire is going to be living with Hope and Ciara.
  12. Episode 16 was promoted as all Steroline/Caroline and it was the lowest rated episode ever, Honestly in a show this old I don't think ratings have anything to do with what ships are shown in the promo.
  13. I'm pretty sure he did, in the Thanksgiving episode. Damon and Ric told Stefan he should just date Caroline and Stefan said he didn't feel that way about her.
  14. I am a bit confused about this whole CEO/contract thing. If Eric signs it and then everyone finds out Rick wants to dump Caroline and has been playing them, does it really make a difference in terms of him being CEO? In the sense that Rick's capabilities / qualifications haven't changed. If Eric honestly thinks Rick can't be CEO without being married to Caroline it seems criminally stupid to appoint him CEO. B&B marriages are never really long lasting at the best of times. Heck what if Caroline died or fell out of a helicopter and couldn't draw anymore? Would Eric just play musical chairs CEO amongst his kids depending on his mood, their marital status, and what the the daily horoscope says? Also, I know there was that fashion show thing a few months back but I am assuming Rick doesn't actually want to tank Forrestor now because..well...failed companies don't need CEOs. So is Rick planning to fire Caroline and Ridge or does he want them to stay? Because if he's planning to fire them then he would need new designers and I can't remember him and Maya talking about that (although everything does blur together lol). So IDK, if Rick wants Forrestor to succeed and isn't trying to get rid of Ridge and Caroline, I'm not really sure what is so devastating about this contract debacle in the short term. And Rick, if his deal depends on Eric renewing the CEO thing in one year isn't sandbagging Eric a bad idea? This whole contract thing is just too confusing and doesn't seem to make any sense. ETA: I'm also really confused about what we are supposed to think the deal is with Rick and Maya. One day it seems like the writers are suggesting Rick is only with her on the rebound, and then the next day it seems like maybe he loves her.
  15. So it seems like they could be hinting at a Caroline pregnancy. Rick said a few weeks ago it was a good thing he and Caroline didn't have kids, then today Caroline said she wasn't pregnant but it probably wouldn't be far off. I wonder if after Rick/Caroline implode because she learns the truth, she will discover she's pregnant. I guess it would prolong the drama because if Rick and Maya are together Maya is going to be furious if Rick remains tied to Caroline through a baby. It would also put a dent in Caroline's potential future romance.
  16. I'm sure Ridge/Caroline will get together and then 1.5 seconds later Ridge will be chasing after Brooke. That's the way every Ridge relationship goes. Poor Caroline will get crushed like a bug and Brooke will barely have to lift a finger lol. ETA: if Carter/Caroline do get together it seems more likely to set them in a quad with Rick and Maya (with either Maya or Caroline sure to turn up pregnant).
  17. Considering Katie could only muster up a "glad you left Paris" to Ridge (who was looking as round and basted as the turkey), it seems like Kridge isn't long for the world. I am confused about Maya and Rick, I have to admit. A week ago Rick admitted that he was using her as a rebound. Has this changed or is he just keeping her around to punish Eric and Caroline?
  18. Ok Katie and $Bill were really cute today. Now I want them to get back together and have a baby girl so $Bill can have tea parties with her. Although I guess they would have to call the kid Wilhelmina heh.
  19. Eric's talk with Taylor about his fatherly ultimatum to Rick was kind of gross when you consider that Taylor dated Rick in the distant past. But then again Taylor has dated all of Eric's sons so the fact that they are in a relationship at all is weird lol. It also makes Eric's insistence that he knows what is best for Rick (or any of his kids) very suspect. I don't like the fact that this show always presents guys as viable romantic options when they are 15+ years older than the girl they are chasing, yet we rarely ever see the reverse. I think Rick/Taylor and Brooke/Deacon are the only examples that spring to mind. I think its time for Brooke and Katie to date some 25 y/o male model hunks.
  20. Rick definitely deserved to be reprimanded for trying to tank the line (by selling coture gown at coture prices....), but damn Eric is such a yoyo. He always makes his kids compete against one another and he changes his mind every 2 seconds about who should be CEO. I think it would be interesting if they had Rick leave Forrestor to start his own fashion line. Logan Designs or something (calling it Those Logan Sluts From The Valley probably wouldn't be allowed lol). Then you could have Brooke join him over there and create another Belief type formula, getting her involved in things again. Obviously they would need a designer as well. It might be interesting so see the drama of getting a fashion line off the ground, trying to compete with the established family business, and then bringing back some of the fashion house rivalry like with Spectra and Jackie M. They could always eventually have Logan Designs merge back into Forrestor if they wanted to as well. I think Ridge is going to end up playing Caroline for a complete fool. They will probably hook up, then Brooke will breeze back into town and we can start the countdown for how long it takes until he is chasing her again. Wait a second, didn't Caroline have a dizzy spell the other day? Maybe she and Ridge start something then she discovers she is pregnant to Rick?
