  1. I know someone online who had a sister on the show and she said all the brides are friends/friendly now but there were some rocky moments after the show aired. (A Long Island episode - don't think I even remember which one it was sorry) And yes, why pick a date during the season if you are die hard fans? I live in an area where people are all about dirt track racing and have had friend who would never get married on a date when there was racing.
  2. When ever she was on screen I just though "Well, bless her heart". And I'm not even southern! Maybe it had something to do with all her allergies and stuff but she just looked...odd. And sad.
  3. I thought she was giving him a "Who the hell are you dude?" look after me bent down to get some confetti for her.
  4. I'm just not a confronting person. Never have been. I'm also not big on speeches. I'm a bad reality tv show watcher I know. (I've also been known to hide my face during kissy stuff - always have)
  5. I really hate these 'confront/interrogate' things. On mute until its over.
  6. it is online at all the popular video sharing sites.
  7. Tim has been quite open about Tug since the start of his career in the 90s. Just like his wife Faith Hill has spoken about being adopted. She found her birth family but is very private about it.
  8. My dad is #4 of 10. His youngest sister was registered with an E in her last name instead of an A. Lots of fun jokes about her being from the E named milk man or grandpa ducking the hospital bill but probably came from E being the common spelling and how we pronounce it and it being recorded wrong. She stuck with the E spelling until she married. But then, my grandfather flipped A and E several times (marriage, work, military, medical records) so its fun. My grandma goes by E now because its easier for her records to be Mrs E than fight over Mrs A. The E vs A thing is handy to find people who don't know me and ask for the A pronunciation. (most Americans go for the A version)
  9. Not sure where to put this comment but I very much prefer the UK theme song to the TLC one.
  10. I remember looking at the clock thinking it was almost over and it was only 8:15. I fell asleep somewhere on the Oregon trail.
  11. I live in the heart of War of 1812 land and it is interesting to hear the different battles discussed on American documentaries when I know the Canadian side.Oh show... The United Empire Loyalist designation is along the same lines as the DAR.
  12. Wolfie's official name is Wolfgang (William Van Halen google tells me)
  13. I wonder if the ancestor got to North America via some sort of home child/Barnardo thing since it does seem they were lower class. But what would I know. (I'm a descendant of a home child - poor children sent to Canada to work as farm labourers) Some agencies kept great records and others didn't. My one line got here around the time of the Revolution and left because they were loyal to the crown but not willingly. After my ancestor had his land taken and he was hanged and lived. You can only hang a man once so they shipped him and his family off to Canada.
  14. I knew the MaAdams would be something UEL because it is an American show. Wonder if someone in the family will take it further and get their designation. (you can get official letters after your name Rachel McAdams UEL.) The servant expert they talked to in England Dr Pamela Cox has done a few documentaries on the history of service. I think she was a good presenter. They are on youtube under *the real downton abbey* I watched it as a 3 parter.
  15. I have a Mungo Reed. When his first wife died (she was my relative) he left the kids and a house full of furniture with the in-laws and took off to parts unknown. Two years later the inlaws ( my great great grandparents) get a letter basically saying "remarried, send the furniture, keep the kids". He didn't get it. Apparently the new couple had a daughter but the first daughter never met her. She did meet her half sister's half sister.
  16. What was that about following a regular person? http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/who-do-you-think-you-are/star-sweeps.htm
  17. The Australian episodes get pulled pretty darn quick.
  18. Yeah Toronto getting in the credits of familiar places. I assume for the McAdams sisters.
  19. You can find a lot online. Both American and British.
  20. I watched the whole marathon too. The Civil War isn't my scene (Canadian here and we were out of there by 1779) but Kelly Clarkson is just so gosh-darned sweet I rewatched. And Jim Parsons...I could just eat him up. Mass grave, maybe Susan Sarandon?
  21. Marathon right now. Just saw Cindy Crawford and now Zoey D who is a strong woman because he ancestors were strong women.
  22. I'm going to need a reminder. Going to be a wild TV night, WDYTYA and Big Brother in the same night.
  23. Do we talk The Big Day here? Putting this here since Christy bought the dress at original recipe SYTTD. Who did she look like? And I didn't catch her age but did she not have at least 5 years on her 24 year old cutie groom? I know I always ask myself what would Hillary Duff do when making big decisions.
  24. Even my casual show-on-in-the-background watching friends are freaked out about Caleb. Good thing they are watched 24/7.
  25. I really hate creative facial hair. Grow it out or shave it off! Chinstraps and soul patches should be punishable offenses.
