  1. I liked that Sean crocheted. All of the other 600 pounders mindlessly watched TV all day. At least he was doing something creative while he was immobile. It also made me soft-hearted for him because it just made him seem lonelier; crocheting by himself. I felt so bad for the guy.

    Room (2015)

I read the book and saw the movie, and in my opinion there weren't any huge omissions from the book, nothing that impacted the movie. Jacob T. was amazing, incredible, moving, heartbreaking, and beautiful. What a performance. The only criticism I had was Old Nick in the book is, as Ma says, "Twice as old as I am" making him mid 40's. The movie Old Nick was young and kind of dweeby. Also he's the same age as Ma in the movie, and in all the true-life kidnap stories I've ever read, the kidnapper is definitely older than the victim. So the casting choice for Old Nick wasn't working for me. But the rest of the movie--I bawled through 90% of it! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
  3. Scheana needs to lay off the chain smoking. Her voice is so gravelly this year, she's distracting to listen to. It's either the chain smoking making her voice sound so scratchy or it's the constant talking about herself!
  4. This just doesn't ring true, when Lala says, "I never met Kristen before" and then she stares wide-eyed as Jax and Tom launch into her past craziness stories. Didn't Lala tell Brandi and Julie on the Aftershow that since she was 17 years old she hung out at SUR? And anyone that is a new cast member on this show in its 3rd year is definitely familiar with the show, they've seen it on TV, and that's why they joined the SUR staff, in the hopes to be on the show. I believe a lot of things, but I think it's impossible that Lala doesn't know the core staff and their backstories.
  5. I'm really enjoying the background music the show is using! It seems like they got a new budget for some new music. When they go kinda snorkeling in Morea, the mystical boppy music was perfect! And when Vicki goes to OK and they played twangy music, lol!
  6. I just want to chip in...I like Meghan. I think she has good intentions and I can't fault her for putting her heart and soul into her step-mom role. I wasn't offended when she said she wished her step-kids were her kids. I would rather have a step mom who loves my kids than one who doesn't care about my kids, or starts all sorts of problems and drama between our two families. I would have loved to have her on RHOBH because she is everything Brandi wants to be, but more! Younger, skinnier, blonder, richer, married, and living in a house. And for goodness sake Vicki, stop gagging and making vomit noises. It's disgusting.
  7. The two lawyers, or legal advisers, who Elena went to for her green card questions were very dressed up to be at work. One was wearing a purple lace dress! And why would it take two of them to advise her? Her case doesn't seem more complicated than a standard one. That just seemed like a set-up meeting for me. Jeez Tanya, take a chill pill. I'm not liking this season's serious Christy. She was pretty funny last season and this season she's too dull. I'm just so bored with all of these "I can't get pregnant" storylines.
  8. Silly me, I was hoping to see them have a nice time in their cabin, being silly and fun. I think Lila has a fantastic sense of humor and I wish they would show it more instead of this drama and fighting. Who behaves like this in public? Or private, for that matter? It's ridiculous. When I don't get along with a co-worker I just ignore them. I hope this drama is manufactured, but it's getting old.
  9. Brandi's been conspicuously absent from twitter lately, except to retweet more wine and podcast nonsense. It was ridiculous when she was touting her charity walk and begging for donations...and the next posts she's getting cellulite treatments and facials, shopping and eating out, meeting friends for drinks... How bout spending some of that loot on your own charity instead of begging for other people to do it for you? She is completely narcissistic and blind.
  10. Is Scheanna wearing the same white lace dress and pink necklace in her TH's that Miami Girl wore?!!! And I wish the camera would focus on the photo shoot so I can see the outfits and make-up. The camera whirls around so fast I can't get a good look. What is the photo shoot for anyway? Who sees these pictures?
  11. I was surprised at Mar's dress on the date because she usually dresses so cute. When she was performing her song her outfit was perfect, so I thought she would have more outfits that looked good on her like that one did. But I think she was trying to impress him with her sexiness so I can give her a pass for that dress. I'm sure she didn't know it would ride up like that when she walked. And I don't mind them calling themselves curvy girls. To me, fat implies you've given up and are slothenly. These girls take care of themselves, go out and and get dressed up, and are social. Fat, to me, makes me think of the My 600 lb life crew. Just sloths that wear sweats and sit around all day. So curvy is a better description of these girls in my opinion. I'm curious why Kareem just dumped Sabrina like he did. She seems like a nice person, although kind of bland on dates. Maybe he was waiting for her to come out of her shell and she just never did.
  12. Wow, Abby sure lost a lot of weight. I'm assuming she had gastric bypass surgery, has anyone heard?
  13. Good grief, Kody is dense. He was shocked that the idea of lip syncing was mortifying to Janelle. That seems like something basic you should know about your wife of 10+ years, doesn't it? That song they lip synced to, it was Kody's ultra cool warning to the kids about the dangers of letting a boy get to 2nd base. I think Christine has the tendency to get a little too loud for my taste, I agree with Janelle that she would be embarrassing to go out with sometimes. Mykelti: "I'm graduated!" Oy. But I didn't think her orange headband was bad. It's probably in style at her school or with her friends. Only 1/3 of the way through, going to keep watching/punishing myself...
  14. I was looking forward to this silly show but this episode didn't hold my attention the whole way through. The previews for the season look good though. Did anyone else think, that during the previews, Elena didn't look happy when they show her taking off her red jacket/top on stage? I remember during Terra's stage show, Elena likes to keep her stage shows classy, so I'm thinking she didn't want to be up there faux-stripping. Joe's reaction to the pregnancy was the opposite of supportive and loving. Still don't know why Terra thinks she has to settle with him. I see nothing redeeming about him at all. I don't know why everyone jumped down Brianna's throat about not going to the wedding. I think the most truthful part was that being single, she didn't want to have other people's happiness rubbed in her face. But that's a painful thing to say outloud, and they would have probably said she needed to get over it. I don't like Terra's long hair. I think short hair suited her much better. Elena has the best style. Christy is hilarious, and Tonya is too judgmental for my taste.
  15. I actually think Muppet James held his own when he met with Lisa to apologize his way back into his job. I do believe in real life he's totally obnoxious, but on the show he hasn't been too bad! Tom Sandoval at the gym: I had no idea he was so built. With the tank top you can really see his neck is disappearing into that buff bodybuilder look. And Stassi has the clearest, bluest eyes. Her make-up and her hair this year is spot on. I even like her chunky necklaces. Speaking of chunky, why are all the SUR waitresses wearing chunky boots with their dresses? Is that a new style I need to be aware of?
