I wish there had been a short scene or even a line or two of them concerned about what Dennis may have given the other side from an immediate security standpoint. Having Carrie so certain "there's something else going on", but not seriously considering security vulnerabilities with the embassy posed by an insider spying, is a competency problem. Not just Carrie, but also the US Ambassador and the Director of the CIA.

There was a wider shot of the scene posted somewhere (I can't remember) which showed the three damaged black vehicles from the convoy in the same frame as the white. I think the white vehicle is additional support/backup at the scene of the RPG attack.

I thought this was the best episode so far this season and for the first time in ages I find myself truly excited for the next episode. I've always enjoyed the emotional beats this show hits regardless of the lack of plausibility. The relationship between Saul and Carrie is my favorite and hearing him curse her was truly heartbreaking. I look forward to their dynamic in the aftermath of these events (if Saul survives). I am wondering what Khan bring to the table in terms of a future working relationship with Carrie. Would it be a backchannel type of deal or could they work together and coordinate operations openly? I don't know enough about the real life relationship between our intelligence agencies to hazard a guess.

I'm guessing the funeral is for someone (or many) in the US Embassy during the prisoner exchange. I was watching the ep. 9 preview again and something caught my eye. The tunnel an armed Haqqani is shown walking through is the one Sandy Bachman (Corey Stoll) is shown using to exit the Embassy in ep. 1. Also the dead man being dragged appears to be the clerk from the shop Sandy exits onto the street.
