  1. Our local PBS station had aired seasons 1-5 but nothing since.
  2. The US judge gave an 89 but there were at least 2 other judges who gave him 90 which counted for the low total, so it wasn't at all out of line. I started scrutinizing the scores after that and it seems that the US judge was just a hard grader in general.
  3. I also noticed that he avoided calling it a genocide, but used the term massacre instead. I know it's not like massacre has a positive connotation but genocide has another added dimension.
  4. Meera just got fired in the first episode. Vivian said she had known Mark for 6 months just before introducing him to her children. Timing doesn't support your theory.
  5. I got a repeat also. Anyone got the new one?
  6. Is this true? It just pooped up on my news feed: Revival.

Thank you! I was a fan in 88. Even wrote her a letter and sent it to the Olympics Village. (Returned, not surprisingly in hindsight. )
  8. RE: elopement in Sense and sensibility I believe Lucy Steele eloped with Edward's brother Robert Ferrars, leaving Edward off the hook.
  9. Not even close. Hanyu is the only one whose PB exceeds Chen's 321.4 points according to wikipedia. Chan's PB is 295.27 and Javi's is 314.93. Even Yuzu has to do better than his Olympics performance (his SB, but to be fair, he had a very short season due to injury) to win. Browsing his records, he's only exceeded 321.4 for a total of 3 times in his career, so I think that he'd have to do better than halfway to win! Now medaling is another story. Uno won silver with 273.77 points. Great for Bychenko. He came in 7th in both the short and the long and end up 4th place overall due to everyone else being so inconsistent. Is this one of the events where they give the pewter medal? Poor Jin and poor Vincent.
  10. Thank you for posting those. I enjoyed them very much. Hardcore fans probably have seen them but I haven't seen either one. Some comments from the 2nd documentary: Med seems quite bubbly and happy off the ice, Zag, not so much. Med's mom is with her whereas Zag lives with her granny. I hope she makes enough money off the OGM that her parents can afford to be with her now. They're both watching their weights very carefully. Med explained to the camera that 200-300g can make a difference in jump aerodynamics. Their coaches were quite happy when Zag came in 2nd to Med at whatever competition that was. Smiles and hugs! Eteri is tough on both of them in training, but seems quite impatient with Zag for not taking notes well. They both seem like very sweet girls. I wish them the best.
  11. I went back and watched the video of Yuzuru's delayed axel jump and the lighting was so bad I couldn't see his legs, no wonder I didn't recognize it as anything special. Can't see from the DVR'd programmed from last night nor from the video posted on nbcolympics either. Oh well! I'll go youtube it!
  12. Scott Hamilton called that jump of Yuzuru's "delayed Axel, a lost art". I'm glad he said that since I thought it was a weird popped Axel!
  13. Does anyone know why Misha Ge is in the gala? I like him, but he's neither Korean or a top finisher, which all the others seem to be. OK, I just looked him up, it seems that he's "a little bit Korean." Source.
  14. I thought that was interesting, too. My theory is that Big air is just one jump, not a series of jump, so they feel they don't have to be as forgiving for falling. In each run of slopestyle and half pipes, there are several hits you have to make, each one with a chance of a fall. With Big air, there's only one per run. Plus they want versatility, so they require the 2 jumps that count to be different. You can't do that if you throw away 2/3 runs. With slopestyle and halfpipe, you can show your versatility in just one run.
