  1. You said that you didn't have a link to a quote, but that I could probably find it. To which I replied that I don't go searching for info that others assert to be out there. Secondly, I have asked no one to "prove" anything. I have asked for clarification, which is how discussion works. I was under the impression that the Bitterness thread was for bitterness, not this one. I thought that discussion was called for here. I'll get clarification.
  2. Okay, so you think that TPTB are intentionally sidelining Dean/Jensen to tell whatever story they want to tell, but you can't figure out what that is. Have I got that right?
  3. What you're talking about is specific storylines, though. I'm asking why TPTB would think that sidelining a character wouldn't hurt the show.
  4. Yes, that is very Dean Winchester. Asking for help without actually asking. Not sure it shows character growth, but that's interpretation.
  5. Yeah, I don't do that. If someone makes an assertion, I won't do their research. Meanwhile, my interpretation of Jensen's comments on season 6 was that he was specifically referring only to Dean's time with Lisa: Not that it was a problem for the entire season up to that point. But mileage always varies.
  6. Wouldn't intentionally sidelining one of the leads (as so many have suggested they are doing) hurt the show? Why wouldn't they know that? Honestly, this is not a new assertion. Usually, admittedly, people assert that one character is intentionally being written to be a jerk/bitch to make the other look better and I have always, for the record, disagreed with that assessment for the same reason -- to do so would hurt the show in the eyes of at least half the fandom and would make no sense. Even if Dabb wanted to intentionally sideline or minimize Dean's importance to the show, he is not the last word in what happens on the show. I would be shocked if Dabb wanted to damage the character of Dean -- and even more shocked if everyone just let him do it.
  7. Again, thanks, but that was in reference to one, maybe two episodes at the beginning of season 6. Anything on Carver? ETA I'm not suggesting that Jensen has been happy with every storyline that the show has done. Obviously, he hasn't and has voiced his displeasure. I'm just trying to figure out why people think he would be dissatisfied with what is happening this season.
  8. Thanks, I just watched and I'm confused. What is your interpretation of that comment?
  9. So? What does that have to do with Dean's characterization? When was that? (Genuine question because I don't remember.) And what do you mean by "dealing with"?
  10. I guess I'm just not seeing it. I'm curious to get to my end-of-season stats because the first half was fairly standard. But that still doesn't answer my question -- why do people think that Dabb hates Dean/Jensen? Why do you think that any member of TPTB would intentionally hurt the show? One more thing: Link? This, too.
  11. You are certainly entitled to that interpretation, but it is not one I share. I see this as growth for Dean. In the past couple of seasons, it was Dean's way or the highway. I'm glad that he's asking for help/input from Sam. It makes for a more equitable partnership.
  12. Isn't it possible that Jensen asked for this? Why does everyone assume that Dabb hates Dean/Jensen?
  13. I think Dean is more concerned with "fixing" whatever is wrong with Castiel. The Colt is secondary, at best. Again, doesn't bother me; I think I prefer it, actually. But to each their own.
  14. Probably doesn't matter, but it wasn't in his lap. It was on the table.
  15. Meh. I'm not bothered. I heard "Can you fix it?" as "You're the one working with the MoL archives -- have you seen anything that would hint at how to fix it?" I mean, honestly, if Dean could have fixed it, wouldn't he have done so back in season 3? They've both learned since then, but we've been specifically told that Sam has spent more time with the MoL archives than Dean has. I would expect Sam to have knowledge that Dean doesn't, at this point. But that's why they work together, because their knowledge and skills complement one another. Sam is more "book smart" while Dean has the instincts. But mileage varies.
  16. We're also coming up on finals, at both the high school and collegiate levels. I tend to think that has an effect on ratings, as well.
  17. Hear, hear! I miss Rowena. Her campiness brings some much needed levity to the show, I think. I also think she could have been used against Kelly -- woman to woman, mother to mother. Plus, I would have liked to see Rowena make a play for the baby.
  18. Henry broke a window to steal the Impala -- the doors must have been locked that time.
  19. I think TPTB (assuming they kill the nephilim, which I wouldn't be surprised if they did) has missed a rare opportunity. I know people don't like the story, but I truly believe that it could have gone somewhere interesting. It's something completely new -- a child of an archangel! No one knows what he could do. It's a blank canvas for the writers. What if the kid isn't evil? What if he had all of his father's resentments towards God, but none of his evil intent? What if all he wants to do is to genuinely make the world a better place? Not like Amara wanted, but a world free of disease and famine and suffering? How would they stop that? Hell, why would they even want to stop that? Because it's against the natural order. (As if that's been a problem for them in the past.) Because it's in conflict with the concept of free will. (If no one ever suffers consequences for their actions, do we actually choose what we do?) Because it has unintended consequences. (Because it always has unintended consequences.) *sigh* But they'll probably just kill him.
  20. I wish the show had made the nephilim female instead of male. Then, uninterested in having Lucifer for a father, she could have gone off to live with Jodi at her Home for Supernatural Wayward Daughters. There she could have taken classes in Working with the Local Police with Professor Mills, Hunting Vampires After Successfully Luring Them In with Professor... uh, Alex. (Does she have a last name?) Oh, Spell Casting and Creating Your Own Coven with Professor Rowena, and, of course, Negotiating with Angels with Professor Novak. Of course, Professors Winchester could drop in from time to time as Guest Lecturers. ;-)
