  1. Okay sure but did you frame "self-control" as "instant obedience"? I don't think obedience is harmful or a bad trait to have in children, but using it as the definition of self-control (when it's the exact opposite) is incorrect, and indicates there's something odd going on there. It was creepy what she said and how she said it, and I doubt it's the same as however you instilled or described obedience. Not that I really care about your kids - on the internet you can find someone saying "my kids are some of the happiest and best kids in the world!!!!!111" and using it to justify everything from breastfeeding until age 10 to using starvation as a punishment.
  2. I feel really sad for Jana. She is used as a slave and does not feel happy. I think she is reluctant to leave because not only has she been told it's a direct path to hell, etc (and may even not know where to go), but she doesn't want to leave her siblings. In fact I think seeing as they are basically her children, she is trapped because she knows they would be devastated and not looked after if she left. Potentially her parents are not finding a husband to keep her too. But maybe she likes it there and doesn't want to go. I'm starting to think that's unlikely though. Many young adults live at home but 25 is starting to get out of young adult territory. The other option is that she's waiting to get married specifically to have fewer children. Starting reproduction at 25 or 26 instead of 20 or 21 cuts down a lot of potential children. Given she has raised about 15 kids, she may be subconsciously or intentionally trying to make sure she never has more than 10.
  3. I laughed. I'm starting to think the Duggars are some sort of parody. They're becoming ridiculous now. Constant selfies? Kissing selfies? (This is the kids - I won't go into the parents' long-standing talk of their sex life.) It's the exact opposite of modesty. They just want attention for being godly, while not being godly at all. I'm sure it's a big practical joke.
  4. Umm no, if it's bad it's bad, you don't need a comparison or to have had sex before to tell good or bad. I don't think there's any problem with only ever having sex with each other, and there can definitely be benefits, but it's also true that you may just not be compatible and it will be bad, and you will know it, and you will be stuck if you only realise this after marriage.
  5. I'm pretty sure she'll televise the birth 1) $$$ 2) parental pressure - ratings 3) she seems VERY obsessed with her own pregnancy and pregnancy in general (well that's all they're allowed to be) - I think she would LOVE the opportunity to "inspire" others (and all these other arrogant words these people think they do on a daily basis. She would want to "encourage" other young women to have a baby and that type of birth, and use the birth episode as a "ministry" blah blah
  6. Anna may not use blanket training but the "instant obedience" quote with Michael was downright scary. I don't think Michelle started using blanket training until she had 6 or 7 - didn't she say it was with the twins? And specifically to stop babies from crawling off when you have other children and lots of chores. So it's not surprising if Anna doesn't use it with 3 - she doesn't have to yet. And hers are more spread out so she may not have to as there's no sign of #4 yet and Mackynzie is getting older by the day. It bugs me when people say Anna is a better mother than Michelle because it's not a fair comparison. About the kissing photo - what happened to this 3 week long honeymoon?! I guess they couldn't afford it?
