Finally got to watch this streaming at home. Other than the Trinity test scenes, I'm not sure there are too many shots where anything was lost not seeing it on a big screen? As others have said, I feel like I want to watch again, as it was kinda hard to keep track of all the people and the goings-on. But in spite of having a bit of "who's that guy again?" syndrome, it was still compelling and I followed the gist. I do wish I had kept a better eye on the clock so that I would not have assumed that the movie would wrap up soon after the successful test. My nitpicky things: I was spoiled for the gratuitous JFK mention, but yeah, that was totally unnecessary and shoehorned in there. And finally, the aging up effects were terrible! Like, jarringly bad. I can't imagine that looked any better on IMAX.

S06.E01:Wine and Roses/S06.E02: Carrot and Stick

That was the cork to the fancy booze (rum?) that “Giselle” and “Viktor” scammed off that guy in the restaurant way back when. More recently, when Kim quit Schweikart, she walked back to her office just to get this one item. The fact that it was in Saul’s possession suggests to me that Kim is no longer around.- 202 replies

That’s a feature, as far as Barb is concerned.

The backgrounds (and continuing stories) of some of these kids are just heartbreaking. Given all that she's experienced, I felt bad for Morgan when her grandparents "joked" that she couldn't live with them. She looked like "Ha ha... oh wait, really?" With the parental abandonment (fuck you, Morgan's dad), I would think her grandparents would be a little more careful about saying that kind of thing, since they seem to care deeply about her well-being. I was ambivalent about Monica's cheerful characterization of Morgan as a people pleaser. Her takeaway seemed to be that she could get Morgan to agree to anything. But surely Monica would understand that Morgan likely continues to fear abandonment by those who are supposed to be on her side. I find it tragic, and I hope that Morgan is able to forge stable relationships going forward.

I see Dan managed to get Eugene’s hair wet again 😂

I wonder this every season: when asked if “I can steal you for a second” or some such, is the bachelor bound by some production rule to acquiesce? They never seem to refuse.

Ratings and Scheduling: "Did You Not Plan for This Contingency?"
StatMom replied to David T. Cole's topic in Better Call Saul
Does anyone know when season 4 will be available on AMC app or Netflix? I saw it on Prime to buy, but I'd rather... not? -
On the podcast, the animal discussion starts at about 23 minutes in and goes until about 32:30. They might mention things at other points, but that's the main segment. Mazin mentioned that they had filmed another scene that's even worse than what we saw 😯 And I agree with you that, for some reason, pet/animal pain can be more difficult to watch than people. Not sure why, but I had the same thought.

In the opening scene of episode 1, Legasov mentions in his recording that Dyatlev will spend 10 years in a prison labor camp, suggesting that while he was scapegoated for others' mistakes it was still less than he deserved as punishment.

Annie bellowing at her boss while he’s speaking to someone is very obnoxious, but I get the sense that this is supposed to be her trying to assert herself for the first time in her life and she is not good at it yet. A tad unrealistic, but, like the “raw dogging” (ew) storyline, I like the character in spite of her dumb decisions and self-centeredness. As others have suggested, this is credit to Aidy’s charm.

Wow, you called it!

Is Nat’s wife also named Joan?

How STUPID is Mel? He knows that many people acquainted with him are involved with PP/PPAD/PPSexyTimes. Even if he were not concerned about the legal angle, shouldn't he be wary of one of these folks running into him?

Just who colleges want to hear from! Your friend who works at a failing shop thinks you'll do great. Ditto David's impassioned plea. If I were a CU waitlister, I'd be pretty annoyed.

S04.E07: Kimmy Fights a Fire Monster!

Is it the hotness? That’s what it is for me. -
It's generous of you to suggest that they made him look like a derp on purpose for realism's sake! I wondered the same thing. I scrolled back up through the pics to verify that yes, her hair was straight as they were getting into bed. I guess they couldn't figure out how to make straight hair look bed-headed? Typical of the show's not caring about continuity or what makes sense. BAG: "Oh, I messed up with the door. Should we go again?" Director: "Nah, good enough. Moving on." AD: "Script sup told me that Tori's hair doesn't match the previous scene." Director: "But it's supposed to be the next morning, right? It's gonna look different. It's fine."

And it was the episode right before this, I think, where there was a "Maryanne" which was also the name of the poor little hot tub rich girl who sent Brandon flowers.

Also, another name re-use: wasn't "Claudia" the name of Colin's art... lady? Dealer? Client? something something?

Right! And do law schools confer bachelors degrees of any kind? Not that I know of. This thing is even jankier than I imagined. See also: "School of Law, New York." I know it was the 90's, but couldn't anyone have Yahoo'ed/Webcrawled/Infoseeked what an actual law degree looks like? Apparently not.

In BB, there was a pizza place known for their unsliced pies. It was this type of pizza that Walt hurled onto his roof, and over which Badger and Skinny Pete had a discussion about the monetary impact of leaving the slicing to the customers.

That is exactly what I thought of as well! The Kodak Carousel presentation in particular. In both scenarios, they relied on storytelling and emotion rather than a straight-up list of facts, features, or qualifications. Becoming a lawyer really was a perfect outlet for Jimmy: he could use his natural gift of gab in a legitimate context.

And I imagine that Rebecca and Howard had to come to terms with regards to the value of Chuck's partnership payout. (It looks like she is the main beneficiary of his estate?)

The last few months, I rewatched the whole series on Netflix in anticipation of this season. My only previous viewing of the show was also in Netflix marathon form, and I feel like it's easier to forget things when I watch a bunch of episodes in a short period of time. Plus a show that does time-jumping a bit like this one does always confuses me -- I tend to forget who knew what and when they knew it!
