  1. Looked at all the dishes and they were not lying about this challenge being top croquette. Charly, Kevin, Manny, Laura, Alisha-Croquettes Danny-Cheese "Fritter", Amanda-Arancini So more than half of the dishes are essentially just fried cheese balls, lol I'm surprised that no one went with the chile relleno route, or did a dessert. Like maybe a fancy baked brie, or a savory cream puff.
  2. I'm kind of guessing that croquettes is viewed as an "upscale" and "sophisticated" cheese dish. Where all the other things everyone here has suggested are more "pedestrian". So all these contestants drifted to croquettes to try to be impressive to the judges. And ironically the quesadilla and the mac and cheese did better than all of the croquettes.
  3. Also, I thought Carla did a fantastic job as a judge. I'm a huge fan of her, but I know that she can tend to come off a little over the top (Food Network). But she was a lot more laid back and had some really good critiques. Same with the guest judge as well.
  4. So I was really shocked Kenny left over Kevin. Reason, was they panned to several score cards. I know it was a very few sample size, but Kevin was getting a lot of 1s (as in 1 out of 10) on the scorecard, Kenny was actually given an 8, Rasika getting a couple of 10s so surprised she wasn't on the top), Manny got a 4. Not to mention the judges said Kenny had the worst croquette (which is pretty bad considering like 2/3 of the chefs did croquettes). Also it seemed like a lot of the croquette people really fell flat on their face. Which makes me wonder, that if Kenny had served first (and not last), if he may have gotten better feedback from the judges. Kind of felt like Kevin and Manny had "more mileage" in potential, whereas the judges felt like Kenny was kind of at the end of the rope and cut him on cumulative performance. I really love Michelle's idea of a collard green "paneer".
  5. As much as the first guy annoyed me, I am really sympathetic to his struggles in the cook off. Especially in the first week, when you don't know where everything is, and all those small things like finding a pot, knife etc. adds up in time.
  6. Just watched the episode and had a couple of thoughts. -Really shocked that no one in the roast chicken group spatchcocked their chicken (where you remove the backbone and flatten the chicken). It roasts a lot quicker since the backbone is gone. Or was that not allowed, because that wouldn't count? -Kristen I thought was a pretty good host. -Thought the challenge was kind of uneven. I think soup is hands down the easiest (because you can adjust as you go). The other two is a lot more challenging, because you can't really know until the end. -The first guy should have gone home even if they didn't do a cookoff. Dishes like his pisses me off, when you have this tiny piece of whatever, and then 90% is just sauces.
  7. Okay that makes more sense. Its really weird that they don't show any of that stuff leading to the split but just saying oh yeah their is a schism between two groups. Like that's really bad storytelling. Like I said before, the Elka getting grilled on her faith was such a weird editing choice. Like why don't they show footage of the castmembers actually grilling Elka, instead of just showing confessionals? Like the most we see footage is them talking in the restaurant (but it is mute), and then a scene of Kameelah telling Elka afterwards "don't let them push you around"
  8. Speaking about pressure cooker, Sharon managed to interview majority of the BB6 cast about it.
  9. So. I just watched the whole season. Thought it was pretty good. The one thing I thought was super weird was how in a lot of the editing they did a lot of telling and not showing. For example. The second episode (or the first episode), there was discussion about Elka feeling like she was being pressured by her castmates at the dinner table about her catholic faith (and how she was sheltered naive for having that faith). And there were several confessionals about that from her Montana etc. But was super weird was that they never show the conversation at all. Even though you see cameras of them at the table conversing, but you don't hear the conversation. That was an interesting choice? Or this talk about how the house is split between Jason/Kameelah/Genesis vs Sean/Syrus/Montana/Elka. Like it just randomly is talked about that in the middle of the season, but there was never explanation on how it got there. The relationships in the house felt very sporadic. Like how Montana and Syrus hated each other, but then all of a sudden they were on the same side of the split.
  10. This was an interesting casting special. Damn Kameelah's interview was really emotional. I'm curious that Cana didn't get casted she was really interesting (apparently she got on road rules, but had to withdraw).
  11. Ariana Debose has been trending lately.
  12. Its from GamerVev. She does all the spoilers of all the challenges. Yeah pretty wild that Kefla is back in. So excited about him. Also the fact that Ayanna and Veronica are back together after 20 years is also incredibly wild.
  13. Season 4 Cast is spoiled and its out. Men Ace (Paris) Adam (The Quest) Brad (San Diego) Brandon (Fresh Meat) Chadwick (Australia) Derek (Cancun) Kefla (Australia) Leroy (Las Vegas 2) Ryan (Fresh Meat 2) Tony (Skeleton) Alternate Syrus (Boston) Women Averey (Portland) Ayanna (Semester at Sea) Flora (Miami) Janelle (Key West) Jasmine (Cancun) Laurel (Fresh Meat 2) Nicole (Skeletons) Rachel (Campus Crawl) Tina (South Pacific) Veronica (Semester at Sea) Alternate Genesis (Boston)
  14. So some the contestants need to find info on Logan, Lark, or Pepper. Because the others are going to be screwed when they hit the final 4. The recurring theme of everyone knowing Louise so the challenge is useless is hilarious. Also, asking questions related to Martha Stewart to Lark was hilarious. Lark "Does my relative know Snoop Dog?"
  15. I'm guessing Kai was probably going for Amara? Since it seemed like a bunch of people have her and Louise pegged without clues. Its kind of wild that both Amara and Louise have not gotten eliminated yet. If Louise hadn't gotten immunity, I could see both Dominique and Kai, just be like screw it give me the layup. I feel like Logan and Pepper are going to go far. Seems like no one is going to peg either of their celebrities. Logan's clues seem a lot more cryptic, since it feels like his hints don't really distinguish certain male country singers from others? I feel like Pepper is only going to get eliminated if she picks wrong, since I feel that the house is pretty young, and I could seem them not figuring out her grandfather.
  16. So the strategy for the series seems to evolve quite a bit. I wonder if Louise strategy should just be for her to tank every challenge to get in the bottom 2? Since anyone else is probably going to call her out. Dominique is really fun to watch. I hope she stays for a while. Also, what the heck happens when there are just two people left?
  17. OMG, someone did the editing which makes this better.
  18. What a spoiled brat. Cook your own food, if you are going to be that nitpicky. Also, can you imagine her being a have not?
  19. Uh, isn't this grounds for cheating? I'm pretty sure if you do this in Survivor, its an automatic DQ.
  20. How the hell does Bill Maher, or the other guy not know about the 2020 market crash?! Jesus, Bill is so ignorant and dumb.
  21. Found it really interesting that all the finalists picked their teammate that during the replication challenge Sarah/Robert, Evelyn/Jo, Jackson/Buddha. Wonder if Damarr would have picked Monique if he made it to the final. I totally see Sarah picking Robert in a sense of redemption, since her plate sent them both packing. I do think Buddha deserved to win, but I thought his obsessions with tuiles was excessive. Some of the dishes kind of worked, but other dishes, it felt like there wasn't really a point to them. Also, i thought tuiles, were pastry tuiles. So how is he able to make eggplant or carrot tuiles, and it looked like pastry tuiles? I felt that even if Evelyn nailed all of her dishes, she wouldn't have won (and in all honesty she executed her plates pretty well, with some tiny flaws). I think her dishes just looked a little simple or inside the box (even though her POV is pretty unique). It also doesn't help that her best dish was her dessert, but that dessert we've seen her make before. She is definitely a lock for All-Stars. Even though Sarah's execution wasn't all there. I find her POV really interesting and like her ideas. Food waste is a big problem in the restaurant industry. Being a busboy long time ago, its really jarring how much food you throw away. She had some interesting concepts, like using the "three sisters" in a dish. Wish her the best.
