Small Talk: The Regency Bar

I have a knee brace from a previous injury, which allowed me to bend my knee enough to drive if I loosened the straps slightly. Hated it, but it did help when walking. Ice that knee and make everyone wait on you hand and foot. Also, wear jitney diapers so you don't have to hobble to the bathroom and pee standing up. ;~) -

At times like these, it really sucks getting old and brittle. -

Resting bird face. I give that look all the time. If people still insist on bothering me, I do the baby barn owl snaky head hissy thing. :~) ETA - like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgcEiXW65Ko -

And be bitched out on Twitter. Then we can go to a movie and chill, right after our Anger Management class. ;~) It's a good thing I'm too old and lame to organize protest marches, because I'd be all over that shit. Meanwhile, I'm amusing myself by imagining the soundtrack to Ruby the spider's mating sessions: "Watch out boy she'll chew you up. Oh here she comes, she's a maneater".

When things look like they're going south on those vet shows, I always ff ahead; if there's a lovely shot of nature and sad music, I know not to rewind and watch. It's a matter of self preservation. Seeing all these endangered species being protected and propagating is a great palate cleanser in light of the disgusting news last week about a certain dickswab trophy "hunter" who kills endangered animals with impunity.

I am so glad to hear this news - now I can watch the episode without so much anxiety. The loss of those 2 babies last year totally gutted me. I am also far too emotional to watch this stuff without one finger on the ff button and the other hand clutching soggy Kleenex. I'm also thoroughly enjoying Bandit Patrol (even though these "new" episodes seem to be stories I've already seen). Watching rescued and rehabilitated animals being released back into the wild is a singular joy.

Small Talk: Ughngnggh! Ugghhnnn!

So, that's what happened to your hair. ;~) (Sorry, NM, I just couldn't resist). I got an IV in the back of my hand years ago, and holy hell, did it hurt! I had to request another nurse after the first one failed SIX times; my hands were black & blue, and ached for days. -
I love the ad where the kid convinces Dad to adopt Chewy dog, but when they get to the shelter, another kid already has him. The kid looks crestfallen until he turns around to see the most awesome Darth Vader cat. My eyes light up when I see that cat, just like the kid's did.

I think it was when a new DA took office, and he was willing to prosecute without a body or much physical evidence.

[BUG, FIXED] Ten-fold email notification of same post
walnutqueen replied to Enigma X's topic in Bugs
I was unable to access the forums for a brief time yesterday, and the error message was something about an update, upgrade or maintenance (sorry, wasn't paying attention to the wording), so I thought it was connected. Thanks for the feedback - it must be a pesky bug because it seems to be random and intermittent. -

I just received 50 notifications for a single "reaction" to one of my posts. So I guess the problem is back. Maybe it has something to do with whatever update/upgrade/tweaking was happening yesterday? -
Apparently, this is not new material, just a re-packaged version of the original series: https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2019/12/whale-wars-watsons-last-stand-animal-planet/ Guess they're trying to drum up interest in the new documentary "Watson", airing Dec. 22nd.

S05.E01: Cake and Bread Week
walnutqueen replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in The Great American Baking Show
Yes - I was just going to post the same thing. I'm shocked they didn't do it, especially since the cut was at the tip of her finger, where it's easy for the bandage to slip off. -
Actually, the correct (i.e. original) lyrics are indeed "the Lord is come". It has been that way since the 1700s; this new lyric is quite recent.

Carlos. The best part was hearing Paul Hollywood described as the inspiration for the Night King on Game of Thrones. heh. -
Just don't tell him you missed out on the Hulu Black Friday deal - $1.99/month for a year - because he'll never let you live it down! ;~)

S12.E06: Where There’s a Wig, There’s a Way
walnutqueen replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
7 wigs for 7 pigs. someone had to say it. -
No dog in this fight; Kevin and Wryly are both dickswabs.

I will miss this show - I really did enjoy it from beginning to end. It is one of the few shows that could make me laugh out loud, and that's something I need more of in my life.
-
I haven't watched yet, but my on screen guide describes it as if it was one of those reruns with "bonus content is added" shows. I wouldn't put it past the network to try to sell re-packaged content as a "new" show; others are doing it, and I hate it.
