  1. Yes. Charlayne Woodard, award winning actress/dancer/singer. A favorite since starring in Ain't Misbehavin" on Broadway back in the late 70s. (Yes, I am that old.) She won a Tony, btw. You might also recognize her from her recurring role of Sis Peg in Law and Order:SVU. She is wonderful!
  2. I’m enjoying Brooke’s personal storyline waaaay more than any of her patients’. Their stories are mildly interesting at best. And truthfully, all three patients irritate and annoy me. Pet peeves: Why would Brooke allow Eladio to refer to her as “mamacita” (or something like that) in the first episode? That’s professionally unacceptable. (And, yeah, I know she has mommy issues.) Why does the actress portraying Laila never shed a tear during her intense responses? I mean she daps and sniffs, but there are no tears coming from her eyes, which are quite beautiful, btw. She does a good job of translating her pathos and anger but it would be so much more powerful if I saw a tear or two. How does the director not catch that? Pet kudos: Joel Kinnaman! I’ll take that bad boy any day. Love the synergy between Brooke and Adam. And last but certainly best, Uzo is formidable in this role. Lots of depth, nuanced and sensitive. She IS Dr Brooke Taylor. Wardrobe, fabulous. House, fantastic. Her backstory, intriguing. The clients, meh. I'll keep watching just for her.
  3. Ok, I've tried not to say anything, but...Am I the only one here who hates that creepy bodysuit-thing-with-attached-gloves that Leah's wearing in her talking heads? I HATE that thing!
  4. I like this show very much. So refreshing to see adults argue and not spit, yank hair or flip a table. Good looking crew, as well. Love all the parents, Monica, Brian, Richa and that cute kid, Anushka. Just need Bravo to add a 5 minute Bollywood dance lesson at the end of each show. Ya'll listening?
  5. Count me two/too! Joel readily admits he blew up his own near-perfect life. I for one can appreciate a man who is remorseful enough to accept blame and resourceful enough to try to make amends. His Achilles heel is that he's attracted to type A women. Even his friend Archie points this out (can't remember which episode). Here's hoping Joel's ego will mature enough to handle "boss" women. Fingers crossed cause I like them together (Joel and Midge) . Will accept Joel and Mei as second choice. Or, in a perfect world....Joel + Midge, Mei + Dr. Benjamin.
  6. That's right! Thanks for reminding me....I remember she "made it nice" for her birthday and the holidays.
  7. I agree. They both are at fault...woman up, apologize to each other and see if the friendship can be salvaged. Dorinda has behaved badly, true, but I get her...her loyalty and support was jettisoned by Luanne's haughtiness and self absorption. I think the friendship's always been unbalanced...Dorinda giving and Luanne taking. There's nothing wrong with that as long as both parties are respectful and mature. The friendship gets tanked though when the giver (Dorinda) feels unappreciated and inconsidered by the taker (Luanne). Yes, I am proudly Pro-Dorinda, despite her slurrings and rantings. She might be a delusional denier, but she's authentic. LOL. Probably a Gemini. She should call me. Or the APA. Dorinda, Forever!
  8. Ah Ha! Thanks for the "heads up", Drivethroo...we shall see. Regarding Simone's negativity towards Quad...she just hatin cause Quad, an Mrs. not an MD, has parlayed her success into an entire "celebrity" career. I believe Simone resents that and it sparks the Evilene in her. After all, how dare Quad get more shine than her, a medical doctor who "catches babies" (so crass)?
  9. Between Sonja's peeing and flashing, sounds like she's stuck in "id-land".
  10. "I want to be someone's safe place"...I LOVE YOU DORINDA! (Yeah, I said it again.) And I think therein lies her drinking problem...who's her safe place?
