  1. How long were they even together before they got engaged? I mean, it seems like they hadn't been dating that long before they broke up, then they got engaged pretty soon after they got back together. But, anyway, yeah, your fiancé should have a key to your home and should have some role in his stepdaughter-to-be's life. Those are things that should've been discussed the moment Lorelai agreed to marry Max. You're agreeing to sharing your life with another person when you say yes to a marriage proposal.
  2. I've seen Paul Rudd in interviews and he can be charming and funny, goofy even. So I don't know why they opted to make Mike so... vanilla. Maybe they wanted someone "normal" to offset Phoebe's quirkiness, but he just came off as dull. I thought she should've ended up with David, too. I had assumed that was the reason the writers kept bringing him back, and was irked that he was just used to facilitate a reconciliation between Phoebe and Mike. So I know everyone loves the engagement scene between Monica and Chandler, but I've always thought the crying seemed so forced. It looks like fake-crying, even though I vaguely recall someone saying that Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry actually did get emotional whilst shooting that scene.
  3. It was lazy writing on AS-P's part, I'd say. Jason showing up was clearly just a plot device to propel the argument between Luke and Lorelai that leads to their first kiss. Once that was done, Jason was no longer of use to her storyline. I never really thought Luke was serious about that, it seemed more like something he just said to shut Taylor up. But speaking of that particular town meeting, I recently rewatched the episode on Netflix and I still adore Lorelai's proud "Show them the horoscope!"
  4. So I'm watching Wedding Bell Blues and Christopher just said, to Rory, that Lorelai kissing him for the first time, at fourteen, was the best day of his life. I kind of think that's an insensitive thing to say to your daughter, no? I'd figure her birth, and GiGi's, would rank higher than a teenage smooch in the parking lot of a convenience store. But maybe I'm just not the romantic Christopher is.
