  1. Does this happen more often than we know, but gets cut? Regardless, I'm surprised it was left in. There was a choppiness to what we did get. I don't gamble (it makes me anxious), but I do bet that there are sites where people are wagering how many games Alison will win.
  2. You've forgotten Tedi and Velma! No wonder they're always shaking their heads at their phones when talking to Carter. He has never attended the School of Law & Order either.
  3. How about if the other ghosts are watching reruns of The Nanny? Yes! I love all of thisπŸ‘†.
  4. The library consortium where I was employed had a machine that did automated page turning while scanning books. It's wasn't perfect, but it could be useful for such large amounts of text. I lost count of how many books HLG Jr. piled onto Yo-Yo Ma. (I assume there's software to convert logographic writing to searchable text.)
  5. If they showed her getting arrested, I missed it. Anyone else? Maybe she and Coulter will hook up in a later episode? (Just kidding. Sort of.)
  6. 🀯 The transcripts of recordings and the judge's readings of her mindset regarding the lethal consequences of her choices remind me of a family member who has untreated bipolar tendencies (but who, fortunately, does not work with lethal weapons). On top of the possibility of her having chemical imbalances in her brain, it sounded like she was self-medicating with cocaine??? (see quote box above) IDK. Maybe it's "just" cocaine addiction or use that has unbalanced her brain chemistry? Whichever, I don't see how after 18 months incarceration she was not also required to fulfill mandated mental health treatment in order to safely function in society. Or is that not something the judge could order?
  7. Sharing this here because if there's a "Specials" board, I don't think it has a thread for Billy Joel's 100th Madison Square Garden performance that was recorded March 28th and aired last night on CBS β€” It was cut off about 10 minutes early, so they're supposed to re-air it on CBS this Friday at 9ET. (If you subscribe to Paramount+, this is a non-issue.) He's 74 and still has his voice and musical skills and showmanship, which is nice to see and hear, especially for those of us near his age β€” and maybe those a decade or more younger too? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/billy-joel-special-to-air-again-after-cut-off-cbs/
  8. Apparently Sheriff Miller is a fan of Murder She Wrote.
  9. Thank you! I thought that poltergeists were more known for unexplained movements and noises. In this episode "poltergeist" was used to define Saul and explain why he was able to appear at the Woodstone and then leave (because he was attached to a person rather than a building). About the book that fell on your head: If you could go back there, you could check the degree of levelness of the house with an app on your phone. My condo was built as recently as 1973, and it has floors slanting every which way, as do most structures in this area.
  10. I had completely forgotten about that, and Rockmond Dunbar (Michael) was in 69 of 104 episodes!
  11. Sorting this out mostly for myself, I see: There were 27 JIT participants: tvinsider.com/1126593/jeopardy-invitational-tournament-contestants-schedule-sam-buttrey-amy-schneider/ Victoria Groce won the JIT tournament and thereby won a spot on the Masters Tournament. Then there was a Producers’ Pick for the Masters Tournament, for which Amy Schneider was selected, and, understandably so, IMO, since she is a 40-time champion, and, unlike, say, 21-time champion Cris Pannullo, did not crash and burnπŸ˜” in the other recent tournaments (these are admittedly a bit of a blur for me). If Amy had won the JIT, perhaps the Producers' Pick for the Masters Tournament would have been Victoria Groce, but not necessarily? Without looking at stats, my preference in that case would have been Juveria Zaheer, but there are several others I would have liked, although some of those (like Cris Pannullo) would have felt more like "Second Chancers" than "Masters." ************ BTW, if you google JIT participants, you get: europol.europa.eu/partners-collaboration/joint-investigation-teams 🀣 This needs to become a Jeopardy! clue.
  12. I thought I copied the quote correctly, but obviously not. I try to be careful about that when pulling a quote out of a third party's post. Sorry for the confusion. If you're on a phone, the "easiest" [*cough*] way to quote a post within a post is to: click the curved arrow and choose "Open in new tab" (or something similar with an Android) and then copy the link for that newly opened page and Paste it into your comment: On a laptop browser β€” which I find easier [*cough*]: select a bit of the outer quote with the inner quote, Choose "Quote selection" use the mouse to drag the inner quote outside of the outer quote to change this… I thought I copied the quote correctly, but obviously not. to this: and then deleted the outer quote (in this example, proserpina65's) unless you want to include both. I think this works on an iPad without a mouse too. And now back to our regularly scheduled program. Perhaps I should post this elsewhere?
  13. Thank you for this. It reminds me of plot points from The Good Wife that I had forgotten.
  14. On Ghosts, lead actor Rose McIver's pregnancy is being camouflaged. Posters on the Ghosts board here have scoffed at the baby bump coverups, but I haven't even noticed them, even though I watch on a large screen, have had 3 kids of my own, and have lived close to my daughter who now has a 2-year-old and a 3-month-old. Perhaps more to the point: On Ghosts, the 2 leads have been married for about 4 years, so, IRL, having a baby would make sense if they plan to have kids. So hiding McIver's pregnancy rather than including it in the show's plot arcs seems to be a deliberate choice by the writers. On The Rookie, I'm sure they could equally well camouflage Jenna Dewan's pregnancy, especially with her firefighter uniform, aprons, painter overalls, etc. So I assume the baby plot is also a choice, albeit more of a default choice on this show, for whatever reasons. My final thoughts on the Nolan-Bailey pregnancy: Nathan Fillion can be very adorable on screen with babies. But, puh-lease, dear writers: Do not go the tragedy route of miscarriage or stillbirth. This is not the right show for it.
  15. Recently I noticed the address for images posted here and was confused at first too. It seems Debian is an open source software with applications beyond my tech-savvy ken, but is being used on this site to serve up images we upload. For example: https://debian-us-sea.us-sea-1.linodeobjects.com/monthly_2024_04/image.png.e5b16a319ac96b9f43d5bc315c8ea315.png
  16. It's not Monet. The style is different. It's closer to Odilon Redon or Gustav Klimt, but not theirs either. It looks like possibly the work of someone I used to follow on Facebook. Perhaps you did too, and that's why it looks familiar … "almost famous"? If there's no attribution, it's likely an in-house illustrator who gets no credit, just like the writers of Hallmark card poems. But I could be wrong. If I see a post in Facebook from that artist and it seems to be the same, I'll post about it here.
  17. 🀯 🀯 🀯 I suppose this doesn't reflect well upon those responsible for employing her either. Stay tuned. And now back to Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden. He's still got it.
  18. So, it's Camden, Maine. Not Camden, NJ, heh. Yeah, I didn't think there were any docks in Camden NJ: but I only lived there when I was ages 7-9. I think I'm done with this show. I keep watching for the scenery, but it's all Vancouver all the time, which is fine, but not what they're selling. Gas mask = fentanyl Oops. They just made Tracker Ryan stupid (telling Sully to pick up a loaded gun).🀯 Sully comes out smelling like a rose. IRL he would've been suss, and that wedding would've been toast.
  19. You might be surprised to know I'm often not great at verbally answering simple questions either. But I do have a lifelong obsession with repeatedly editing my writing. πŸ˜‰ I actually do better answering complicated questions.πŸ™ƒ
  20. Great question given the totally shady surrogate broker. I wonder if this was originally intended to be a crossover with SVU and maybe FBI International. I was feeling happily nostalgic during the old-style L&O red herring scavenger hunt in the first half. Sadly, I guess this was only because:
  21. Comedy writing is invariably one word away from being insufferable to half the audience. "So say we all." Which is why we watch.πŸ“Ί
  22. Tony looks great in that picture. He must still run or at least jog. πŸ™Œβ€οΈπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘ It could be fun for Monk to be a mentor to a younger sleuth if they cast it right.
  23. Yes. Pretty much the same writing for Maroun as for Serena Southerlyn, especially in this episode. But if this is Maroun's swan song, her penultimate line cannot be: Can it? ----- * Serena Southerlyn departed L&O mid-season in "Ain't No Love" (S15.E13, aired January 12, 2005).
  24. Sadly, yes, and yes. Hopefully Todd and Lyle will come to the rescue with their sleuthing skills. Hey, which one is Sherlock and which one is Watson? Maybe Susan can be their "inside man." There could be a twist in which Beverly is actually an innocent dupe, but shouldn't she be too smart and savvy to fall for that sort of thing?
  25. Fran Drescher ("The Nanny") was married for 18 years to Peter Marc Jacobson, at which point he came out as gay (imdb.com/name/nm0414908/bio). In 2011 he produced a sitcom based on their marriage and his coming out, "Happily Divorced." Two of my former coworkers were hetero until their 30s (one male, one female, both married with kids). But, yeah, I think it's more common IRL than on TV. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
