  1. I view some episodes as parables, metaphorical. If the characters said she tried everything and nothing can be treated, why am I supposed to argue otherwise? The premise itself was interesting and I like the idea of people visiting other people’s worlds.

  2. It is based on a novel (and a movie starring Anne Hathaway). Whether one likes the ending or not, the series ended the way the book essentially did.

  3. The Before Sunset vibes. Set in Paris. Two characters reuniting. Walking and talking. Man with marital issues. Girl with a boyfriend. A cafe scene. A garret scene. Discussing a previous sexual encounter. Just needed Emma singing to Nina Simone. Loved it all.

  4. I loved this series so much! The first production of this decade I can truly proclaim as loving even if it’s not deemed “prestige”. Mod and Woodall are sensational, I really hope this elevates them both for more work.

In terms of production, this maybe the best 90s nostalgia hit I have ever seen. It does not go over the top with it, and those years have a lived in quality. Also, the handling of alcohol and drug is really well done, how it ebbs and flows.

Do you think Dexter recovers? I want him to be clean by the end. I ended up liking everybody. I was even sad that the ex-wife is divorced too. I wish her the best.

  5. I say this as a huge fan but I don’t classify it as a comedy either. And they are so strict when it comes to movies like A Star is Born and Elvis that weren’t classified as musicals.

  6. Joe is supposed to be kinda invisible virtually throughout the movie until the end, probably at the roof scene. That is how it with abuse kids—they’re the forgotten ones.

  7. The Influencer shows growth throughout but she also displays her contributions to the group, both emotionally and practically. and the social media aspect allows the characters to reveal themselves in an economical but storywise consistent manner.

I had my own misgivings with the Asian couple with the heavy accents but they are given their humanity and humour. It all works in the end, in my opinion.

I too loved Bitmore Christmas, even though I am not one for time travel. Lenz is my favourite actor of this genre. Hallmark is kinda killing?

I just watched my favorite movie so far this Season: Holiday Road.  It had humor, it had me in tears at the end, the characters were fun & each had an emotional back-story, the romance was low key & not the focus of the movie but the 2 Main leads did have chemistry.  I recommend it.

I very much agree. The ensemble nature of the movie gave it a great balance of humour and sentiment. I was engaged by every storyline. This will be my favourite of the year, doubt I will find a better one.

They could probably do a Holiday Road sequel with a new cast where the road trip is different. Heck, use the same cast playing different characters.

  9. Christmas Island was not groundbreaking but it was well made and acted. It helps that I like both lead actors but the entire cast worked. The wealthy family was believable. In a typical movie, the teenaged girl would have been redeemed by forming a relationship with the mayor’s son, but her closest friendship is the elderly man.

The main couple kiss 2/3 way through the movie. That’s different too.

  10. The three women had terrific chemistry, and was the best part of the movie. I thought this was gonna be like a trilogy of movies with each focusing on one mom, kinda like Wedding Veil (which were awful) and Love Club(the Sydney one is one of my faves). When they lost the bake-off and were supposed to volunteer for the other days, I thought the other two movies would involve different days like Homecoming Day (Instagram Mom tries too hard to make her daughter become Homecoming Queen) and Prom Day (Lawyer Mom has to juggle work with preparing for prom).

  11. I like Muriel and Cameron and Brie and Mike. Preacher finally has a romantic partner with some semblance of staying power. Like Mel has a friend. All good things.

The drug storyline was awful. I hate Brody. Why’d they bring back Charmaine? She has to no longer pregnant with the time jump, right?!?!?

  12. The ending was very reminiscent of Lost where those characters united in a Church. I was quite moved by this finale and think this season is the second best of the series. They lucked out with how good the cast is.

This is probably the last network tv shows with huge ass seasons that I will ever watch. The sheer quantity of episodes make me quite attached to the characters. The older I get, the sadder I become whenever I end anything.
