  1. Robert Scott Wilson looks more interesting on the red carpet than he does in 99% of his scenes on the show.
  2. So far, it actually feels worse than what he did for Charlie's murder. At least Charlie had several characters who actively hated him, and it felt like it was leading to Charlie getting killed. This was basically out of the blue, even if you count the little micro-dramas that have occurred this week. With Gwen maybe possibly killing Laura, she's the only character who feels like a legitimate suspect. Everyone else looks like someone who will be falsely accused, and most of the story will consist of them attempting various schemes to exonerate themselves. I can't decide if this is better or worse than that dreadful Possession 2.0 storyline.
  3. I think the motto supposed to be that you can't choose who you love. I can fit Allie and Tripp into that category. I can see how cheating is a deal breaker for some but They aren't characterizing Tripp as that kind of person, so I can see why he'd go crawling back to Allie. Hasn't Shawn always been a bit of a dipshit? I don't see anything new in him falling for any/all of Jan's machinations. Did Peter actually say anything during that meeting? All that I heard was some kind of weird technical blip. I was hoping They'd get Jason Brooks to say something via video call. Kristin showing up at the end would have been a fun surprise if it was Eileen playing her. Staci Haiduk just doesn't do anything interesting with the character anymore.
  4. What did you think of Episode 6, where much of the episode was spent dealing with The House? I thought it might offer some insight regarding The House but it didn't give much in the way of clarity. Perhaps there were details there that went over my head? If you'd want to share some details (maybe Spoiler Hide them?) from the novel about the House, I'd love to read them. I haven't been able to find much on a Google search.
  5. If I'm going to say something nice about the episode, it's that I thought the actors did a good job of injecting believability into some of the stupidest scenes I've ever watched on the television show. Good to see Charlie again. I still hate Ron for killing him off for that boring WhoDunIt. I liked that there was a scene with Lani questioning how her father was dead, and Stowers actually did a decent job with it. Pleasant surprise.
  6. It's hilarious that They had an actor with that ridiculous mustache come into a scene that seems to be the climax of a front burner storyline. It's one of those things that makes me wonder if They're all laughing at us in the Writers Room for taking this Show seriously at all. Even crazier would be that if it's someone in Production who likes to undermine the Show's credibility under Ron's Pen in general. What a waste of a good actor. Mostly disappointed that TR so quickly became a Mustache-Twirling Villain, and now he's dead. If They had given the story some time to breathe, I think it could have been an interesting exploration of a man caught between wanting to make a better life for himself and his Demons from the Past that continue to haunt him. An intelligent writer could have even weaved in correlations to the moronic Demon Possession 2.0 storyline.
  7. All good things must come to an end. I had a feeling we were going to get another installment of Demon Possession 2.0 today. If I had paid closer attention, I might have understood how the wall of the DiMera Crypt turned into some kind of Psychic Movie Screen. At least Clyde and EJ are kinda-sorta fun. Shouldn't Lani's milkshake bring all the boys to the yard? How disappointing for her. What was that Paulina and TR kiss? It was so weird how they went in at each other that I couldn't help but lol.
  8. Oh, that was so good. It's so much more satisfying when you've been watching a story play out for over a year than when you try to make a BIG moment out of characters who haven't been on for years. I still don't know why Gwen is a bigger fish than someone who set up the Police Commissioner but I don't give a fork about Rafe, so fine, whatever. I'll just fanwank that Track hates The Hortons so much that she'd rather embarrass them than mess with Ava. I kinda wish Missy had let Cady McClain play Jennifer this time, because CM does righteous indignation so well. Gwen's final words were chilling. She either lied, and rained on Abigail's moment of glory, or she was telling the truth, and Abigail just stepped in a pile of shit. It was a well-played move for Gwen, who I love to laugh at for being such an unremarkable villain. You think? I'll enter Kristen DiMera as Exhibit A for the longevity of an E-VOL Villian. Ditto. I mean, I get why many viewers hate her but I find her fascinating when she's not being a blubbering crybaby.
  9. So much cringe. It was almost as bad as a day of The Possession 2.0. At least They bothered to come up with a reason for Leo's husband to expose everything, as flimsy as it was, but it all felt as pointless and shallow as Leo's personality. I don't know why it had to be Chad explaining the thing. Sonny was the one who was invested in ruining Leo, and Zach Tinker is a helluva lot more fun to watch than BF. And then They made Kevin Spirtas cry at the end. Oy.
  10. I just laughed when Allie-Devil explained that it would be pink or blue because, obviously, it was going to be blood red. I did think she would use her finger to turn it the proper color, and make them all think they're seeing things, but the Show probably didn't want to pay for that. Does it even matter if Jan has her baby or not? The Show is so inconsistent about how it deals with the emotional consequences of any action. It's not like if Jan loses the baby we'll never see Jan again. Ron C will just think of another stupid reason to bring her back. She may as well have the baby and make Shawn walk around with a fake baby for a few months, then we won't see it again until it's a teenager. For a moment there when Belle was talking to John about Jan, I did imagine how utterly infuriating it must be to have a person intruding on your relationship for decades. But, I had to project my own life frustrations onto the scenes to feel that. I don't feel like The Show does a good job of communicating that on a regular basis. Most of their traumatic experiences feel relatively superficial.
  11. I remember dancing to that song on a beer-covered dance floor back when The Soaps were still good. Was that Friday episode at the beginning of the Olympics pushed back? I can't remember. If it wasn't, and there is a Very Special April Fools Episode, it should air this coming Friday. If it was pushed back, April Fools won't be until April 18. Kind of like the Time Jump but only for 11 Soap Days. Can we get one of those for Ciara's Baby being born?
  12. Is that what that was? Gawd, my eyes are getting so bad these days. I couldn't figure out what the hell those water spots were all over his jacket, lol. Wait, is Ciara just now entering her second trimester, too? So six more months of this Devil Nonsense. By the time that baby comes, I'm going to be so filled with hate for this Devil Storyline that I'm going to need an exorcism of my own. Ugh. I SO HATED Carson Boatman as The Devil that I started to wonder if my initial enjoyment of him was just a passing fancy but I kinda enjoyed him again with Allie-Devil and Andre, even though all of those scenes were mostly stupid. If anyone is keeping tally, I'm casting my vote for EJ and Belle having more chemistry than Belle and Shawn. EJ is about the only reason I'm still watching the show at this point. I do love it, though, when They have Ben/Ollie half naked on screen and I get a mental vision of @boes clutching his pearls. *giggle*
  13. I was surprised he said what he said, too, but glad that he did. Get the Hell Out, Johnny! John was nicer about it than I would of been. Unfortunately for the Devil, all of its powers are storyline-dictated. It can change form, imitate other voices exactly and jump from one body to another but a freaking bedroom wall is its Kryptonite. Ugh. Do 20-somethings even care that much about these issues. All of that bellyaching sounded like something written by old people. If They must keep Craig and his annoying boyfriend around, I don't hate the idea of him being Kayla's nemesis. It's what They should have done with Dr Snyder but, fine, maybe it will be a little more entertaining because Craig has a history with some of the other characters.
  14. At least TR is an interesting villain. I cringed when he referred to the father of his grandchildren as "that little punk", but I couldn't help but smirk when he sat down to comfort Paulina. I love Raven Bowens but I'd agree that she's better in scenes that are grounded in realty. I don't begrudge any of these actors for being less than stellar when they're involved in these Garbage Writing scenes of the Demon Possession 2.0 storyline. I just can't help but smile imagining Lamon Archey doing all of those scenes we watched at the DiMera Mansion with the same conviction that he's Renée DuMonde.
  15. I was really hoping TR would get to meet his grandchildren and bond with them, which is a pretty rare investment in a story for me, and now I feel like I've been totally cheated so Ron can fulfill his Spoiler Quota for the week 😀
  16. Let me guess, Eli will awaken from his coma and believe that he's Renée DuMonde. Renee's spirit will figure out how to jump from one body to another while Sarah is being held in the psychiatric wing of the hospital. I would not even put it past Them to try something so stupid. Seriously! This story could be so fun if Gwen and Xander were in lust with each other, yet fully aware of the other's dark side and constantly trying to outwit each other. I just HATE Xander as a lovesick ninny, and Gwen's whining is way past its expiration date. I liked Tony's outburst at the end. I keep asking if there's any point to this Sarah/Renee nonsense, so I appreciated that it's been eating at Tony and likely unearthed an old wound that he never truly dealt with. I don't know if that's what The Writers were going for but I'm filling in the blanks wherever they give me the chance.
  17. Seriously? We've had to sit through almost three months of this JohnnyDevil possession, which isn't even a real thing, and TR is already shooting cops and murdering people? I was really enjoying the mystery of whether TR had actually changed, something human beings really struggle with. Plus, William Christian is a more compelling performer than the kid who plays Johnny. This is why we can't have nice things. I kept asking myself if it was weird to have a Very Special Episode of DAYS with Will and Allie, while TR was murdering people and the Devil was doing whatever it does. Yeah, if They must drag out this moronic possession storyline, I was hoping the Devil would stay in Belle, so we could see what another actor might do with it. I'm just not enjoying that kid who plays Johnny as the Devil. I feel like Martha Madison might have had some fun with it. Whoever mentioned having the actress who's playing Beth as Paulina, I love that idea. I know Jackee is there tp get more people to watch but this story could have been so much better with an actress who was more skilled with dramatic scenes.
  18. It's almost a certainty that I'll hate anything broadcast on The CW but I'd watch at least one episode to see ORK. I still miss her being on DAYS, and I'm pretty much an outta-sight-outta-mind kind of person.
  19. But wasn't that just another wig? I swear I saw a recent pic of Patrika Darbo and it looked like she has good hair. That pink hair Bonnie gave her made Nancy look like she's on her way to a COSPlay Convention to find a new boyfriend. Can we keep nuSonny around and send Chandler Massey back to wherever Sonny and Will are supposed to be living now. I like Zach Tinker. Didn't realize he had been on Y&R. I can see why Craig won't listen to anyone about Leo. They're probably still in their "honeymoon phase", and Craig is likely riding high on what he perceives to be a new lease on life. But I really don't give a damn if Leo marries him and screws him out of all of his money. Nothing about this story has been structured in a way that makes me care one little bit about Craig. I always get a good laugh out of Lani tying to attribute some strength of character to herself because she's a cop. Always.
  20. Whoever said "Beetlejuice" three times and summoned Bonnie back to Salem, I'm kinda pissed at you right now. nuSonny has a charming smile despite that 70s porn star moustache. I thought Freddie Smith was more believable as a guy who has his own company but this new guy seems to have more charisma. For awhile there it seemed like Freddie S and Billy Flynn were competing for the most lifeless performance, so I don't mind not seeing FS again. For as much as I dislike Leo and what GR does with the character, I'm somewhat curious to see what he'll do if Nancy and Chloe make an enemy of him. I'll be more surprised if there isn't a scene in which Sarah mistakes Roman for Chris. Ron loves those wink-wink-nudge-nudge moments enough to make me wonder if this entire storyline was written for that scene alone. Nothing else about it has been that interesting, so far.
  21. Me, too. That was as close to edge-of-my-seat that the show's had me in quite awhile. I was disappointed that it was resolved so conveniently. For the most, I've enjoyed What Happened at Tasty Chicken Island. Primarily because of Abigail and Kristin's interactions. I wish Steve and Kayla hadn't been so secluded for most of it but I can see why that was necessary for plot reasons. I hoped Tony would be given something awesome to do, especially because They dug so far back into his history, but They usually waste Thaao Penghlis when they have him on these days. I've been watching some old scenes, and Philece Sampler does have a girly-ish voice but there's a strength to her performance that betrays what you'd expect when you hear her voice. Unfortunately, Linsey Godfrey just doesn't have the expertise to pull something like that off. And I'm not saying she has to, as Sarah's incarnation of Renee is based only on what she read in a diary, but it would be more interesting to watch if LG's resemblance to Sampler was uncanny.
  22. It's no different than how heterosexual men ogle women on a regular basis. But I will agree that soaps don't have scenes with heterosexual men leering at women very often, if ever. We have been subjected to Leo trying to seduce Xander and Brady(?), though, which kinda falls in the same category as Craig eye-humping Johnny. Nicole calling out Ava surprised me. I guess I was expecting the Show to drag this out forever. The Olympics probably didn't help with the pacing but I don't remember it feeling like there was any kind of build-up for that kind of confrontation before the break. Speaking of the Olympics, it looks like they really weren't expecting to be preempted with the Valentine's celebrations happening. I wonder if there will be any other time sensitive events before we get caught up to what they are taping now. If we must be subjected to the continuation of the Demon Possession, it would have been more fun to have MarDevil giving horrible advice to Nancy's Talking Wig than what we got instead. I'm already rolling my eyes at who I think Craig's LoverBoy is going to be. *sigh*
  23. This is Renee's confrontation... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTNX9gTTA7g It features Leann Hunley's big, glorious 80s hair, a Marlena and Chris spotting, Julie getting screamed at, Thaao Penghlis' hairy chest, and I think Tony's mother? Was Daphne Tony's mother? Philece Sampler was really good, too. This current Cartoon-Y Version of Anna annoys the hell out of me. I hope she was actually an interesting character back in the 80s. Kristin actually amused me today when she explained how Sarah's obsession with Renee briefly made her life a little easier. And I think Marci Miller and Stacy H have had good scene chemistry since Abigail arrived on The Island. It was interesting to me that Eli didn't seem willing to give TR a chance to demonstrate that he's a changed man, especially considering that Paulina hasn't exactly been an upstanding citizen since her arrival in Salem, USA.
  24. TR finding out about Lani feels ridiculously rushed, even for Ron C, but I thought William Christian was pretty good in those scenes. Despite having to work opposite Sal Stower's maddening, wooden performance, he made me actually stop what I was doing and pay attention. Jackee's performance didn't bother me as much in this episode because I thought most of what she did felt fitting for the character but I know we'd have gotten pretty much the same performance if the scenes called for something more subtle. I liked Ava's story about her grandmother, as I've theorized that Ava didn't have any positive role models in her early life, and her attempt to be a Good Person has mostly been a shot in the dark for her. Now I know she had at least one positive role model but the pull towards the darker regions of a moral compass was stronger. I really like the idea of Tripp becoming a little more like his mother after he finds out about Allie and Chanel. This Stepford Wife (Doctor) they've turned him into doesn't even feel like a real person. Although, it does remind me a little of GL's Dr Rick Bauer, who was terribly unlucky at looove, but Michael O'Leary made Rick feel more complex than Tripp.
  25. I don't know anything about Euripides but I liked that someone slipped in that line about repeating the same plots over and over. I'll imagine it was one of the script writers snarking on Ron's writing habits and call it a day. That damn mop on Sarah's head was so distracting that I didn't even think that she wasn't talking about Xander. I just figured Kristin made up a story about why Sarah had to be away from Xander right now, and Sarah believed it. It's hilarious that Chad thinks of himself as The Good DiMera, yet he doesn't mind sending EJ off to prison for 10 years for a crime he didn't commit. Over a damn kiss? Still don't care about the My Gay Dad storyline.
