  1. Season one had Steve Martin's physical comedy with the elevator. This time it was Martin Short and Nathan Lane. ❤️
  2. How is your middle toe and the ball of your foot? Hopefully, no trips to Dr. K will be needed.
  3. I caught that, too! That's the most interesting CD has been for years. Wish he had said that but when I listened to it three times, he lowered his head and said, "Okay" disconsolately. That's a mouthful saying it, try it.
  4. Where is this coming from? Has there been an announcement that she's leaving? No! People in the Canadian Spoilers said something about tomorrow's episode which led someone to post that "It's on the Internet". Yes, her departure the first time is on the internet, but there's nothing about her leaving again. It's probably a vacation and what happens tomorrow is the reason they will use for her taking a trip. Maybe I'll be wrong, but I think what happens tomorrow is much ado about nothing!
  5. Going to put this here rather than in media because it deals with this episode. I agree with their choice for The Performer of the Week: Selena Gomez By Team TVLine / August 6 2022, 7:00 AM PDT THE PERFORMER | Selena Gomez THE SHOW | Only Murders in the Building THE EPISODE | “Flipping the Pieces” (Aug. 2, 2022) THE PERFORMANCE | Week after week, Gomez delivers an emotionally astute performance, deftly mining Mabel Mora’s trauma. But it was Tuesday’s episode, which got to the root of her selective memory, that afforded Gomez her greatest showcase of all. So much of Mabel’s journey, especially in Season 2, has been about her desire to run from her past and start anew. You could sense in Gomez’s gravelly tone just how much it pained Mabel to remember those she has lost, telling Theo just how difficult it is to walk past the front gate of the Arconia, only to be reminded of Zoe, or to walk past Tim’s door and be haunted by visions of his dead body. But in order to break free of her psychological scars, Mabel would first have to confront the greatest of them all: losing her father to stomach cancer when she was just 7 years old. “I didn’t know how to cope with him dying, so I didn’t,” she told Theo, hesitating after each and every word as if this was the first time she’d ever discussed his death out loud. “Instead, I flipped the pieces over in my mind until I couldn’t see the image anymore.” But as she continued to talk about it openly, there was also a real sense of catharsis, which manifested itself not only in Gomez’ delicate delivery, but in her eyes. As she flipped the metaphorical puzzle pieces in her mind and watched as they floated away, a single tear was all Gomez needed to express the weight being lifted off Mabel’s chest. Her wounds hadn’t magically healed — only now could she fully access her memory of Bunny dying in her arms — but she could move forward and find a way to live with her pain, rather than box it away.
  6. I agree. And I won't be watching 🤢.
  7. Exactly! We're going to see all the Tournament of Champions and Second Chance contestants in the six weeks of reruns before Season 39 begins on Sept. 12th. The first three days gave us 2 Tournament of Champions and one Second Chance contestant, Jessica Stephens. Interesting that Jessica Stephens beat Matt, but unfortunately for her, so did Jonathan Fisher. She's definitely a good choice for the Second Chance Tournament. The next two days will spotlight 6-day Jeopardy Champion, Tyler Rhode, but no Second Chance Contestants. I actually like watching the reruns and Matt's games were his closest in his winning streak. I've discovered that it doesn't matter if I've seen it before, I still get the same wrong answers that I got the first time around. I know one category I'll be running again on Friday's show in Double Jeopardy--Musical Touring Companies 🥰!
  8. Look who's coming to The Young and the Restless. Any guesses as to who he will be playing? https://daytimeconfidential.com/2022/08/02/breaking-news-trevor-st-john-heads-to-young-and-restless
  9. The Orville Finale Promo Teaser https://tvline.com/2022/08/01/the-orville-season-3-finale-teaser-ed-kelly-romance-dress-whites/#more-1234857226
  10. I love Clementine and was so happy to see her in this episode even if it was only for a millisecond. You ask about why do bad things always have to happen to her? You might get an answer from Angela Sarafyan's perspective of playing the role which is in this interview that was on the KTLA Morning News today. https://ktla.com/entertainment/angela-sarafyan-touches-on-season-4-of-westworld-and-what-her-character-has-taught-her/
  11. You're right! Matt's games will be for the first three days of this week. Tomorrows is one of his few close games going into Final Jeopardy. On Wednesday, he will face the person who beat him, Jonathan Fisher who is also in the Tournament of Champions. This particular game was the first hosted by Mayim Bialik when Mike Richards got fired.
  12. Yes, he was one of the four semi finalists, but only three moved on to the finals in the College Tournament. Since he had the lowest money winning total he was the odd man out and they rewarded him for a spot in the Second Chance Tournament. Hopefully, it doesn't happen again for him as this tournament is set up the same way that this year's College National Championship Tournament was.
  13. Other Second Chance Contestants: Tom Philipose, a literary professor lost to Ryan Long on June 2, 2022. It was a Triple Stumper Final Jeopardy. Philipose had $18,800 and bet it all winding up with $0. Ryan wound up with $19,300 and the bad bet cost him a chance at winning. Alicia O'Hare lost to Yungsheng Wang this month on July 6th. He was a 3-Day Champion beating her with $36,401 to Alicia's $24,400. Again it was a bad bet that cost her a chance to win. Then there's the lady with the Blue hair, the Learned League Member, Rowan Ward who ❤️ed horses and appeared on Aug. 13, 2021. I'm glad to see her getting a second chance at winning.
  14. Yes she was. It was on June 17, 2022, when she had the right answer, but didn't finish writing it. She would have won and eliminated Megan Wachspress who had some really lucky and close wins and will be in the Tournament of Champions. I'll be cheering for Sadie in the Second Chance Tournament, but not Megan!
  15. I agree with spunkygal! "Gorgeous and Impressive" I'm so glad to see what you can make with that lathe that you moved last week I presume from inside the house to outside in an enclosed area? It may have imperfections, but sometimes they are what I'll look for when I've bought ceramic art glass bowls, etc. Really admire your talent as I have none at all when it comes to woodworking, etc. Is there any type of arts and crafts festival or shop where you could try to sell it? What happened to the one that you showed before you moved the lathe? Did you give it to anyone at the club as you mentioned you were thinking of doing?
  16. On today's episode there was a photo of Wiley on someone's phone? Was it on Michael's phone or was it on Dax's phone? If it was on Dax's why? Could he have some connection to Nelle?
  17. Her duet with Scott Grimes was quite good. She had a beautiful singing voice. Perhaps her next job could be in musical theatre.
  18. And I could wish that Spinelli were. And I second that thought!!!
  19. No emoji to express how I feel about this. I'll just say UGH!
  20. I had the pleasure of seeing Broadway bound Lempicka at the La Jolla Playhouse this past weekend. It was a Musical Masterpiece of Art, visually stunning with a cast of amazing voices that sang magnificent songs. This musical explores the art and complicated life of 1920’s and ‘30’s Polish-Russian Art Deco painter Tamara de Lempicka. She was a celebrated artist who mingled with European aristocrats and became known as the “baroness with the brush”. The musical’s book, lyrics and concept are by playwright Carson Kreitzer with book and music by composer Matt Gould. This production is not the same that was done at Williamstown, MA. They used another text for the book and additional songs were added to what is a really long musical--over three hours with a 15 minute intermission, but I loved every minute of it. It’s director is Rachel Chavkin, who won the 2019 Tony Award for her direction of the musical “Hadestown.” I see another Tony in her future! Two reasons why Lempicka is not better known today are her gender and her rather notorious personal life. Lempicka was openly bisexual and famously painted some of her female lovers, including Rafaela Fano and Suzy Solidor, both of which we meet in the musical. Her first husband, Baron Tadeusz Lempicki, divorced her in 1930 over her serial affairs. She was also a neglectful mother--shown in the musical--and had a strong and forceful personality, qualities art historians might have overlooked in a male artist. They dismissed her as Deco, which was this diminutive term that’s been attached to women and women of color because their style or their form doesn’t conform to the ’great man theory’ of visual art. The musical’s central characters are: Lempicka (played superbly by Eden Espinosa). There's a Tony nomination in her future. her husband Tadeusz (played by Andrew Samonsky) and her lover and muse Rafaela (played by Ximone Rose who did the last two weeks of shows in La Jolla). When it comes to Broadway Rafaela will be played by Amber Iman. The musical covered the great moments of transition in Lempicka’s life, including the flight from Russia to Paris, the choices Lempicka made to follow her artistic and romantic muse at great cost, and her decision to leave Paris with her second husband as the Nazis closed in. Told through a wonderful pop-infused score which was really loud, Lempicka boldly explored the contradictions of a world in crisis, a woman ahead of her era, and an artist whose time had finally come. The cast featured an excellent group of singers who got their moments to shine with solos: George Abud as Marinetti and his song, Perfection brought down the house and I see a Tony nomination, no, a Tony win in his future. 😊 Natalie Joy Johnson was excellent as a lesbian singer in a nightclub where Tamara and Rafaela first meet. She has a song in Act 2 at Le Moncle, a Queer Parisian nightclub, Woman that’s a belter which also brought down the house. 😊 Jacquelyn Ritz played the Baroness and had a beautiful Act 2 solo when she was dying that was heartbreaking and whose husband would marry Lempicka after she died. Finally, Andrew Samonsky sang another belter about his life with Lempicki which also brought down the house!! Chavkin is known for her multisensory sensibility, but she’s really outdone herself this time thanks to her design team and choreographer Raja Feather Kelly. The intense focus on revolution, change and the future--themes in the musical are represented in the angular lines and revolving set (Riccardo Hermandez)--Bravo! Bravo! It was incredible! The ever-spinning turntable stage featured fast-shifting angled scenery walls that served to highlight the most elaborate projection design that I've ever see, featuring old Nazi and Bolshevik photos, ads, newsreels, images of 1920's Paris and some of Lempicka's sensuous paintings and sketches. It was a phantasmagoria of movement more than art. Bravo to Bradley King and Peter Negrini. There will be Tony's in their future. Run, don't walk to see it when it opens on Broadway!
  21. There are several comments about it in the TAR IN THE MEDIA thread so that's probably the best thread to use.
  22. From TV Line... Pluto TV on Monday, Aug. 1 will launch two new channels featuring classic episodes of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, Vulture reports. A third game show-centric channel, featuring ’round-the-clock episodes of Wayne Brady’s Let’s Make a Deal, launched earlier today.
  23. Yes to this, but I found the most upsetting thing to be the talk of a Season 4. No! End this stupidity, or Netflix will, since they've been canceling many shows and this will be next to go!
  24. Oliver asks his friend and fellow Arconia resident Teddy Dimas (Nathan Lane) to sponsor their podcast. It's an underhanded way for Oliver to salvage enough money to pay his rent so he isn't evicted from the Arconia.
  25. There are several if you Google Stranger Things Recaps, but this one is my favorite. https://www.tvinsider.com/show/stranger-things/
