    Homeland set shot

(Photo : Metro) Carrie appears to be shot in this leaked set photo. Will Saul live through the season 4 finale?

Forr those disappointed in the fourth season of "Homeland," spoilers indicate that this batch of episodes will go down in the blaze of glory. Important characters will die, and Carrie Mathison may even wind up taking a bullet or two!

As shown by Metro's set image above, actress Claire Danes looks to be playing Carrie in some state of medical distress. With military and medical personnel on all sides, a gunshot seems likely given the appearance of the injury. After all, if it had been the result of an explosive, one would assume that the damage might be worse.

However, while the fan favorite schizophrenic station chief may brush with a bullet, the fate of at least one of the series' central characters appears far worse. TV Line investigators suggest that an elaborate funeral sequence was recently filmed on "Homeland's" West Africa set. Considering Saul Berenson has spent most of season 4 narrowly escaping his demise, many fanatics assume that his character will be next to get the axe.

The evidence in speculation compounds when you consider that Carrie was willing to sacrifice Saul's life to capture Taliban Commander Haissam Haqqani at the beginning of the season. Will that troubling scenario repeat itself as the fourth year comes to an end? Will Carrie injure herself trying to fight on behalf of her greatest mentor and friend? All of these situations seem possible.

As with any spoiler, the final script may not always line up with what fans predict. As the main character of the show, Carrie is likely a safe survival, but what about Peter Quinn or Fara Sherazi? Both characters often put their lives on the line, and may be plausible candidates for death as well.

To find out who dies in the "Homeland" season 4 finale, watch episode 12 on Dec. 21. The show airs every Sunday on Showtime

New "Homeland" season 4 spoilers reveal that an "elaborate funeral" will likely take place during the finale. Will Quinn, Saul, or Lockhart get killed off in the "Homeland" season 4 finale? Read on for all the spoiler details!

According to TVLine, "Homeland" "recently shot an elaborate funeral sequence at a chapel in Cape Town presumably to air in the season finale."

"Homeland's" filming location was in South Africa, to stand in for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

There are lots of theories going on through our heads as to who could be kicking the bucket in this funeral scene, thought to take place in the "Homeland" season 4 finale. We're doubting it'll be Claire Danes' character Carrie Mathison. But could it be Quinn? Or Saul? Or (hopefully) Lockhart?

Cartermatt.com writes that they're "worried about Saul... due to the precarious nature of his position. While we know him to be a very smart, shrewd man, this will only get you so far. It is hard to escape a capture situation, and he will have to use almost every single tool in his arsenal in an effort to figure this one out."

The last we saw of Saul he was being locked in a holding cell in the mountains bordering Afghanistan. His chances don't look good.

On the other hand, Mandy Patinkin is a big, A-list name in the "Homeland" cast. Killing him off after Damian Lewis' exit may damage the Showtime series beyond repair.

Quinn may be another character in danger. Rupert Friend's role has felt like a dead-end ever since it's been revealed that he's in love with Carrie.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that the "Homeland" producers decide to cut Lockhart. He's been a real thorn in everyone's side recently.

Other possibilities? Mark Moses' character as husband of the ambassador, Dennis Boyd. He's currently in hot water and it may just be a matter of time before the ISI has had enough of him.

Who do you think the funeral in the "Homeland" season 4 finale could be held for? Let us know in the comments section below!

Meanwhile, "Homeland" has been renewed for season 5.

"In its fourth season, 'Homeland' has brilliantly reinvented itself. It continues to capture the attention of a devoted fan base, and has provided an enviable platform for the successful launch of 'The Affair,' " said Showtime Networks prexy David Nevins. "With thought-provoking, relevant and addictive storylines, both series have been embraced, dissected and much debated week after week. We're excited to see more from these complex shows in 2015."

  2. Why is it necessary to give us 'Crazy Carrie' every. single. season?

    Did not like. At all.

B/c Gansa hasn't figured out that Danes is a one season on wonder

  3. They are definitely bitter about getting no nominations. Gansa all but said exactly that. I just think they are clueless how to fix it and make great TV again.

    Hated it.

Thanks for your candor. So sad how fall it's fallen.

  4. Ok.....

That's a completely different situation from an actor who's read the script beforehand and is well aware what is going to happen.

    Really now?

Well, not really when you look at it as both knew what was up before hand... Regardless, we are getting OT.

There were a whole host of issues with the scenee before age.

  5. Yes.....most men I know are totally squicked out that an older, experienced, hot ass blonde is sitting on top of them grabbing for anything she can hold onto.

To each their own (esp. w/ regards to Danes attractiveness) but I vividly recall thinking 30 was old at 21 and being on a college trip to Memphis w/ a group of guys when a 35 year old woman brought herself back to the hotel w/ one of my friends and while it was funny at first, it very quickly became a little weird and creepy for him. She was attractive but the age difference is VERY NOTICABLE and the whole thing was just weird....

Anyway, back to Homeland; as I said before, it wasn't so much the age deal as other things about it that made it weird.

  6. Yes, because an older woman and a younger man is just SO disgusting, right?

The scene wasn't troubling because of age, but because of power and Carrie is the one holding the power over Aayan; he's not an equal in this. Even if they both were the same age, it still would be troubling.

Sometimes I wish folks wouldn't get so creeped out over age; as long as everybody is over 21 it's all good IMO.

I admit to being a tick harsh but there is just something different about Caire Danes' Carrie that makes it feel different... Someone else above mentioned the sex in the the Americams; is compare what Carrie did toAayan as somewhat similar to what Keri Russell did to the young navy sailor when she jerked him off to "pump him up" to go steal the plans- and I was probably equally grossed out by both scenes.

I don't thinkage played as big of a role as just the general feeling of how uncomfortable it was and weird- but at least in the Americans that was the intent of the writers. With Homeland, I'm not so sure.

  7. Yeah, that's kind of cheap. Let the female agent play with the boy or vice versa.

But, honestly why did it feel icky? It did, but why? I had difficulties watching the last 5 min of the episode.

I totally agree w/ what you're saying/feeling.... There's nothing in particular that one can point to in that scene and say "that's what did it" but you come away from it feeling INCREDIBLY uncomfortable/creeped out/icky/etc.

  8. I saw a good review over at zap2it http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/homeland_season_4_episode_4_iron_in_the_fire_recap_review_carrie_aayan-2014-10 that does a good job of explaining Carrie's unlikability and how most of the audience now roots for her to lose. I've tried to explain it before but they do a better job. Basically they argue that the new Carrie isn't a hit b/c she doesn't have a boss that reels her in when she goes off the reservation- be it a Saul or Estes, etc. I've explained this before but I think we (audience) could excuse rogue crazy Carrie during season one b/c we knew she was right and so when Estes locked her up, we understood why he did it, but you still hated him for it b/c we knew Carrie was right about Brody. Then halfway through S2 everything switched when Carrie became only interested I clearing Brody and we never got that Carrie-Estes type dynamic back and the show has suffered, greatly.

  9. I agree that it should be Fara doing this, although she might not be up to it, and "should" isn't often what drives Carrie.  But I have to say, as uncomfortable as it was watching Carrie seduce Aayan, I think Suraj Sharma is just so handsome (those eyes! those lips!) that I rather enjoyed it.  Oops?  Sorry, not sorry?

I bet the poor actor was creeped out w/ having a woman 15 years his senior mauling him- even if it was acting. There is a rumor in the is that Danes gets a little too in to character at times and is quite intense.

    • Love 1
  10. I don't see Fara being up for a honeypot mission - especially when it's as ruthless as toying with someone like Aayan.

Carrie romantically involved w/ another "is he or isn't he" seems like a desperate attempt at rekindling the Carroe Brody S 1 stuff... I think the shouldve gone w/ Fara and let Carrie oversee it or something... There is a good potential for a story/plot w/ Aayan being the "is he isn't he" (even if it was predictable) but keep Carrie few steps removed this time...I know they won't though.

  11. Agreed. But this is The Carrie Show, isn't it.

There won't be a show much longer of they keep this up. Seriously, even my wife screamed "Ick" at the sight of that make out session/borderline rape.

  12. Because it means Sandy's death wasn't due to angry Pakistanis recognizing him and taking action. Instead he died as a result of a premeditated and organized attack.

    Ah ha! Thank you meeps.
