BTW, Ryan Paevey IS gone from Hallmark.  He did an hour long chat on Instagram this afternoon, and said he did his last movie for the channel.  Didn’t reveal why they’ve parted ways, but he’s now putting all his creativity into his Fortunate Wanderer company.  Very sad to see him go.

I didn't see that interview but did read that he said he had nothing currently scheduled with Hallmark.  Did he actually say they parted ways?  I know in 2023 he signed a multi-movie deal with Hallmark so I'm confused and there was talk of him starring in a Hallmark mystery series.

Maybe the writers will give her another go with Nathan, when that doesn't work drag it out and a handsome stranger gallops into town and sweeps her heart away.

I'd prefer if they just sweep her away.   She could/should move back east.  She's become incredibly self-centered and annoying.

  3. Even though I absolutely hate what Elizabeth just did to Lucas,  there's a part of me that feels Lucas is better off without her.  I love Chris McNally and was Team Lucas all the way.   I should note that I'm also a Kevin McGarry fan but I'm not a Nathan fan.  He seems wishy washy - too much so for a mountie.

  4. I liked this episode.  It made me feel good to see what's her name (Warner) so angry.  It was also great to see NO JIMMY but too bad the barrel racer chick was back.  I thought they were gone for good.  I guess if we have to have one, Laramie is preferable.  I never could warm up to Mia.

The Kayce/Monica storyline keeps getting worse.  I don't care about Monica and never did.  I'd love to see Kayce have a new love interest......Avery where are you?  LOL

It would be great if after 1923 there was another spinoff featuring Josh Lucas as the young John Dutton

I don't know, they'd have to go pretty far to be more fake than Appalachian Gold or Alaskan Killer Bigfoot  😄

I wasn't referring to the items found, bought or sold but rather to the fact that they were planted/priced in advance and the dialogue is mostly scripted.

Speaking of commercials with dogs, I've been meaning to post this for a while. The Pedigree commercial with what I assume is a veteran looking for a dog. He asks about a certain older dog with the most soulful eyes. The assistant says "this guy's been through a lot" and brings the dog out. It just breaks my heart and fills me with joy at the same time. And at the end when the dog is sitting next to the guy and they're driving home, the dog's happy expression? *sob*

I tend to puddle up easily and that one sure triggers it.

I've dropped American Pickers, but I'm still watching Pawn Stars.  The advantage with Pawn Stars is they show a wider variety of items, and Rick's knowledge of history is impressive.  It also helps that they've kept the original cast, except for the Old Man, who passed on (RIP).

It's too bad that both American Pickers and Pawn Stars are both among the most fake reality shows on TV.  I can't quote a source or provide a link off the top of my head but if you search for "fake reality shows" I'm sure you'll find them.   I do believe Rick is knowledgeable about history but working from a script sure helps him.

  8. I'm sure some people will say it's dumb but I love the "the peanut butter box is here" Chewy commercial.  There's two dogs and a Chewy box is delivered and left on the porch.  The large dog is all happy and keeps saying "the peanut butter box is here" but the small dog corrects him saying it's their flea medicine.  The big dog totally ignores him and keeps repeating "the peanut butter box is here."   There's just something abut the dog's expression and the voiceover that cracks me up.

Ha-ha.  Thanks to the levels of darkness, I couldn't see 90% of the episode.  May as well make it a radio show.

I guess I expected more seeing as how Robert Redford was an executive producer.  But, AMC is continuing with poor lighting and even worse story-telling abilities.  Very reminiscent of how they've mucked up The Walking Dead.  Did anyone even care that Raymond disappeared courtesy of being shot?

I thought they did an excellent job of filming in the dark.   I was able to see what was happening despite the lack of light.  Most TV shows do a lousy job of filming in the dark so this was a pleasant surprise.

  10. This post is not about a specific commercial but about subliminal messaging during commercials.  I record shows on my DVR because I like being able to watch them whenever I want and to FF through the commercials.  Twice this week while FFing through commercials on shows I recorded I noticed something odd during the commercials. About half way through what seemed like an endless number of commercials there was a shot of the TV show I was watching - no text just what seemed like a scene from the show.  Once it was of two detectives on Law & Order and the other time it was the town hall building featured on In The Heat of the Night.  Both times I thought the commercials had ended and the show was back on but it wasn't.  I think they did that on purpose so people like me who are FFing through commercials stop FFing and get to see another commercial or two.  I can't think of another reason for doing that.  If any of you are advertising/marketing professionals, please explain it.

ETA:  I'm not sure subliminal messaging is the right term to use here since it wasn't selling anything except "stop FFing."  LOL

Just finished Season 4 (yep, a bit late to the binging party:-)

    ..........................

Obviously, I could go on & on with the glaring inconsistencies...but only if you're interested :-)

You're not telling us anything we didn't already know.  I can't speak for anyone else but personally, I'm not interested.  The show doesn't explore most side stories because they're not relevant to the main plot and also because most people don't care.  There are only 10 hours of Yellowstone per season.  If they took the time to go into each and everyone one (like the mother & child on the road) there wouldn't be enough time to deal with the main storyline.

I'm disabled, so my pride didn't let me do this for quite some time. Then COVID hit and I decided to give home delivery a try.

After, when things got a bit better, I switched to curbside pickup. That way I can still feel part of the process but it's definitely physically easier on me than going through all the aisles after a full work day. At this point, I am definitely willing to pay someone to do things that may seem small to many, but are quite taxing to me. There's no point in using my limited strength and energy unnecessarily.

In case anyone wants to give curbside a try and has a Stop & Shop nearby, they recently released a promo code for free pickup on Wednesdays with a purchase of $30+ - SSPICKUPFREE -  until August 31.

I've been using Stop and Shop's home delivery (Peapod) for years and I love it.  I had several surgeries a while back and grocery shopping wasn't something I could do.  I still have issues so I get my groceries delivered.  Their service is fabulous, their deliveries are on time and the drivers are friendly but professional.

In the second episode there is a flashback scene with him a a young Officer Leaphorn

Thank you. I think I know which scene you mean but I also didn't think anything happened.  It's just the two of them walking.

I'll watch it again.  This time I'll do it with the closed captions on.  There were a few spots that I couldn't understand what they were saying.  One of them is just before ceremony Anna's father tells a joke about an Indian and a convertible.  I watched it several times and still have no idea what he said.

  14. I'm so glad I decided to give Dark Winds a try.  I'm loving it.  I did have to watch each episode more than once to figure out what was happening.  I haven't read the books but I'm sure I will.

I didn't understand why Anna's dad was so angry with Leaphorn.  He was angry before he knew his daughter had been killed so that wasn't the reason.  I hope someone here can explain it.

  15. This episode certainly did not live up to the hype.

I liked seeing Casey again.  The smile on his face when he walked into 51 was probably the best part of the finale.  The only other great moment was Emma's departure.  Having her freak out and get called out for it was fun to watch.

The rest of the episode was meh.  I wasn't impressed with the wedding.  Severide always looks good but Stella didn't.  The dress wasn't right for her and her hair was not flattering.  She looked better when Chloe was doing her makeup and her hair was loose.

    https://ew.com/tv/harrison-ford-helen-mirren-yellowstone-origin-series-1932/

Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren have signed on to star in "1932".  Are we to assume they are playing James and Margaret?  I'm still unclear as to exactly how old James and Margaret were in 1883.  They had an 18 year old daughter.  So let's say they were 40 (even though they both looked 50).  James and Margaret would be 89 years old in 1932.   Harrison Ford is 79, Helen Mirren is 76.  I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility.

If they aren't James and Margaret, I wonder who they will be.  I'm assuming that this storyline will follow the Dutton line that is the branch that includes Kevin Costner.  If Kevin Costner's John is 64 in 2021 then he was born in 1957 and I would assume that "1932" includes his dad as a child.

My friend and I spent a good hour trying to figure out the timeline for 1932 and we still aren't sure.  I think Harrison Ford will probably be John Dutton's grandfather.  I say that because it would leave time for Taylor Sheridan to make another spinoff set during WWII. LOL
