Really pulling for Kimmi after listening to her podcast. I only really remember her from the infamous finger-wagging fight but she sounds fun and I think it will be great to see her and Jeff together. (Jeff is the only one that I'm really invested in getting on. I'll be so bummed if he doesn't make it.) I really didn't like how Shirin acted like she was guaranteed a spot. I mean, she's probably right but she just seemed to act like it was her god-given right to go back on.
  3. The Parks and Rec song is my ring tone. I also always listen to The Office and 30 Rock.
  4. I saw this one! They went with the third one (the one below budget with the dark back bedroom). They said that living together had "challenged" the friendship but they were still living together. I don't think that will last.
  5. Would you want to spend any time with her at a party? :) This episode was just one, long eye-roll.
  6. Totally agree. I can understand why people don't want to live in big houses, but this seems ridiculous. Do they ever plan on having kids? Even having a dog in that kind of space would be tough. And when it was all said and done, it wasn't really that cheap. And the couple last night didn't seem to be on the same page. I told my husband if he ever said he wanted composting toilets, I would divorce him.
  7. I knew that they would go with the most expensive apartment because she was making it very clear that she would only be happy there. And yes, her voice was crazy annoying.
  8. I think I paused the TV and screamed "Cape Cod is in Massachusetts, not Callifornia, you numbskull!" at least 5 times.
  9. I watched a few repeats this weekend, including the one in Venice Beach with the older husband/younger wife whose main issue was finding a house with a fridge that would allow them to hang their cheap souvenir magnets. WTH? And the wife kept whining that she wanted a pool even though she was 10 minutes from the beach and their budget was already $2.5 million and that was barely enough to get them a single-family house. These guys vaulted to the top of my least-favorite list.
  10. And really, if you're watching Mad Men and your main takeaway is that you want to be Don Draper, you're kind of missing the point. His office at the end was sad.
  11. The Mad Men stuff was ridiculous. I couldn't wait to see what he was going to wear for the house visits. I loved when they went to the last building and he was so judgy about the building being built in 1972. If the guy had said 1967, he'd have been all over it.
  12. I was completely against e-readers when they first came out. I'm a total bookworm and to me there's nothing better than picking up a big, fat book and turning to page 1 and getting started. Then I got a smartphone and the Kindle app and realized, "Hey, wait a minute! You mean I can always have a book with me everywhere I go?!" It was the most amazing thing, because I'm the kind of person who wants to read at every possible chance, whether it's during a 10-minute car ride or a 30-minute wait at the dentist. I upgraded to a Kindle pretty quickly and mainly use it for travel. I used to have to bring 5 or 6 books with me to last a week's vacation so to have 100 books on one small device? Best thing ever. I also read from my Kindle every night before I go to sleep which helps me relax and is easier to do because of the backlighting, so I don't have to keep a light on like i would with a regular book. I still get a thrill when I go to the library and come out with a big stack of books. I love seeing books on my bookshelves and my coffee tables. I would never want to live in a world where "real" books didn't exist. But I can't deny how much my Kindle allows me to nurture my bookworminess and I would never give that up.
  13. This might get me stoned to death but... I don't think Bill Murray is that funny. I said this to my husband last night after seeing non-stop commercials for his new movie last night and he was aghast. He started listing movies and I was like, "Nope, no, hate that movie, nope." The only one that I conceded was Stripes and even that one, for me, is due in large part to the supporting cast.
  14. I'm going to have to look for this one. We used to live in Ellicott City and it's very expensive as is all of Howard County but $675K for a townhouse?? That's insane. We had a townhouse that was just under $300K and I thought that was a lot. And yes, the HOA fees are ridiculous. We were paying over $400 a year, and if this house was in Columbia instead of Ellicott City, it would be a lot more than that. We moved out of Howard County and into the "country" so that we could afford a single-family house with more space/yard. We have 2 acres and a large house and it cost less than that townhouse and our HOA fee is only $100 a year!
  15. On board with the Frozen indifference. And agree with the person who preferred Tangled. My UO is that I don't get the hype for Say Anything. I think I'm a few years too young to have been into it when it first came out, but the parts I've seen do nothing for me.
