  1. I'm here with the other people that are worried about Aron's mental well-being. I'm legitimately concerned about him. No matter how good of friends he was with Alyssa, he's just not in the right head space right now.
  2. Wow - 12 hours since it aired and NOTHING? Yikes. Guess it really shows how people feel about the changes this season. "Mouch struggles to maintain boundaries with a paramedicine client." Well, HE wasn't struggling to maintain the boundaries, the CLIENT was struggling. Trudy is awesome. That is all.
  3. Gibson was announced as a new cast member, so I don't think they're going to immediately write him off for Kylie's sake. What I thought they were implying is that Mouch will get a lieutenant position, but not at 51. He's a more tenured character (= higher salary), so write him off the show, then have Kylie take his spot on Truck. Making a comment about one of the Darden boys sounding drunk? They're not even in college, they're still in high school. Wildly inappropriate suggestion for the show because it was totally unnecessary. The writing has really gone downhill this season. It's like they're trying to drive us viewers away so they can cancel it and say "See, nobody was watching anymore - that's why we cancelled it!"
  4. They were talking about blaming the EMTs for not being able to use the defibrillator. Um, why did the EMTs have to ask them to get their external AED? Somebody should have IMMEDIATELY gotten the AED. It should have been sitting there when the EMTs arrived. That's a poor job by everybody on the scene. OF COURSE the EMTs defibrillator should have worked, but it's not their fault other people on the scene hadn't made other preparations.
  5. Eh, I don't completely agree with the fact. The writers WERE actually smart enough to lampshade that Cruz is Sylvie's ex. Still, I don't think him OR Matt would hold such a grudge as to not invite him.
  6. The show aired almost 12 hours ago and nobody's posted yet? That's not a great sign ... Boden apologizes to James for not being around more to help out with his mom. Is it normal for people to spend a lot of time with their ex-wives, especially after they have a new wife? Severide lets Stella know that he'll be coming home soon - "a week from tomorrow" after he had already been gone however long. I won't pretend to know anything how long arson cases take. Obviously more than a day or week. But he'll "finally" be coming home after a week - yay? Stella, when you find the kid in the middle of the raging fire, maybe you immediately get on the radio to tell everyone she's found so that they stop looking around the burning house for the kid? Because it's a little dangerous to be doing that. Before that, the mom tells Stella to let her take care of her daughter who's setting fires. "Are you a mom?" "No, but I have an ex-husband. I know how troublesome a divorce can be." Explain that to the mom! Big plot device about how Cruz isn't getting invited to Brett and Casey's wedding. It's brought up at least 3 times. Then at the end, it's something as simple as I placed the invite in the wrong locker? That's some craptastic dramatic writing - resolved in a single sentence. I started watching this show on episode 199, because I remember Casey was there and he was gone. By the end of season 10, everyone kept talking about how great the show USED to be. So over the last 2 years, I've gone back and rewatched from the start. I'm not sure that the show has really gone downhill that much over seasons 6-10, but it has fallen off a CLIFF this season. THE WRITING IS TERRIBLE, as you can see from my bullet points above. Unless they turn it around quick, I won't have to worry about whether they're going to renew it for season 13 - my last episode will be the upcoming wedding, and then I'm out.
  7. It looks like our show. It kinda sounds like our show. It's not our show. Yes, I can see Ritter harassing Herrmann about seeing a doctor and Herrmann not wanting to go. But I think Hermann almost getting run over getting into his car would have spooked him to seeing a doctor, he would have gotten checked before ENDANGERING HIS COWORKERS. Cruz has worked with Severide too long to seriously consider doing an end-around about leaving without talking to him first. Throwing Violet and Carver together doesn't feel earned. They talked in S12E01 about them having sparks last season. Really? Carver only had eyes for Stella in S11, which has suddenly been dropped now that Severide is back. They magically run into Kylie? Yeah, she wants to make her own way, but Chicago is pretty big, the odds are that she wouldn't be working immediately next to them in the city. I still think that was more of the show's typical back-door way to introduce a new character - was his name Gibson? Brett WOULD say she wants a simple venue and still want it to be perfect. That's on point. I know I'll remember one or two more later, but that's what I get for writing this at 3am while staying up late.
  8. I think I'm in the minority - there weren't really many teams that I'm rooting for. I'm also not rooting AGAINST anyone - I HATE rooting against people on the show. I like Liam and Yeremi as a pair of brothers who are veterans on the same team, Steve and Anna Leigh considering she FLEW across that rope, and Rob and Corey. Otherwise I'm pretty much meh on everyone else. Here's the other thing. I started watching season 7. How many times am I going to watch the show? The longer I watch the show, the more I have to be pulled in by the teams. I don't think TAR did a poor job casting (this seems like the original mix of casting without any stunt casting), but I'm just not that drawn in at this point. I'll give it another episode or two before deciding to pass on this season.
  9. I've been frustrated now that a few times the "announcer" has called somebody out for "getting all their answers right, but not banking any money." Well, if you get all of your answers right, you SHOULDN'T BANK. The idea of the game is to build the chain, right? Sounds like the NEXT person should bank the accumulated money.
  10. Only 7 people onboard the Enterprise-D ... and they still have the lights turned on throughout the ship. You can see all of the lit windows. Tsk, tsk - save some of that power for the battle in the finale! ;-)
  11. Bad writing: when Date/Lore/B4/Lal is activated, they say "cognitive functions only", then Spiner is moving around. Or does that make it bad acting on Spiner's part? Dumb characters: everybody talks about how they've already lost Data twice, and they don't want to lose him a third time. So as soon as he told you what was stolen was Picard's body, TURN HIM OFF. DON'T LET LORE TAKE OVER. Lore ALWAYS manages to turn the tables, and yet these characters are too stupid, pining for Data. Ugh. You would have thought they would have learned by now. Easily the worst episode of the season. But this is still the best season of the show.
  12. Dom admits that she can't read a map - SO SHE BETTER BE DRIVING. Otherwise, she is literally contributing NOTHING in self-driving parts of the race. Frankly, all she's done in 3 episodes is drive me nuts with cliche after cliche.
  13. I think it was pretty obvious that Olivia PRETENDED Nicole had gone to Toronto to stay with relatives, but Nicole hadn't gone anywhere. Olivia said that just to protect Nicole and prevent her from having to go on the stand.
  14. Sarah was insufferable. I previously liked here, but she was just so over the top here (or maybe it was just the editors going crazy). I finally had to fast-forward through 10 minutes of the drama - just tell me who she's going against. And now that she won the challenge, I'm sure she'll be even more bombastic. Great. Ugh. I've never watched The Challenge before - how many people run the final?
  15. Sounded like Leo only wanted to let one person down (Alyssa) ... until he decided to let MANY people down (temporarily by staying in the race)? Although he's hoping in the end, he'll do more good by staying and winning the money? VERY confusing edit.
  16. I'm fine with Sarah and Leo, so I'm glad they didn't get eliminated. Um, Leo? Just because YOU have a lot of respect for Tyson doesn't require that he respect you back and/or not try to eliminate you. That's not how it works.
  17. Still frustrated that the show is tilted SO FAR from TAR contestants. I think the original numbers were 9/8/8/3? Really? That's QUITE unbalanced. Glad we didn't lose 2 out of 3 in a single episode.
  18. Is this the best thread to reference our former TAR contestants in "The Challenge"? I'm very disappointed that only 3 of the 28 contestants are from TAR. Were "our" people just too smart to do a show like that? :-p
  19. Only partway through last week's episode, so I'm trying to avoid seeing what others wrote ... But after the FIRST ROUND, the narrator said the first girl "had gotten all 3 questions right, but hadn't banked any money." Well, if you get the question right, YOU DON'T WANT TO BANK MONEY. BUILD THE CHAIN. So I thought that was pretty stupid commentary. Shouldn't the people running the show understand good strategy???
  20. It was fine. Nothing special. Won't go down in history as one of the greatest finales of all time. Didn't need to - it was a pretty good series. Without a doubt, the best two exchanges were Uncle Nicky ragging on Kevin and Randall being ecstatic there was finally going to be another guy in the family.
  21. So I can tell I'm definitely in the minority. I'm okay with them setting up Bradford and Chen. And I thought this was a pretty inspired way to get it to happen. I was cackling when I saw the first appearance of Dim. Okay, so shows have done that before - had an actor play another version of themself. When they told Chen they wouldn't believe who the girlfriend was, I figured out that it would be Juicy. But having the two play Dim and Juicy and having to be together - I think that's some original thought! Sure, slightly forced, but it seems like a reason they could end up together.
  22. People said they heard the show would overrun. DID NBC NOT KNOW THAT? Inexcusable for this to have not been passed onto providers. I ALWAYS record an extra minute, so I saw William kiss Rebecca then ... done. Shouldn't have to wait until NBC unlocks the episode to see the end.
  23. Wait wait wait wait wait. Agnes merged with the Borg Queen in 2024 ... and allowed the Borg to do EVERY TERRIBLE THING THEY'VE EVER DONE ... only to come to the Federation "now" and save them from the galactic event? A galactic event that only shoots out energy in ONE DIRECTION (not 360 degrees) so we can put a shield up and prevent it? I'm not even sure how I typed this post - my eyes rolled so hard they've fallen out of my head and I'm permanently blind. THE MOST STUPID WRITING EVER. And I'm sure there's much, much more I could post, but my head would explode if I attempted to contemplate it.
  24. Raffi and Seven run across a field and don't get a scratch on them (from that). We see what looked like at least a hundred soldiers beam in, and only see about a dozen of them get killed. But it's okay, they took the ship back. The writers decided to show us Picard's mommy issues from about 60 years ago. What is this steaming bag of crap doing on my front porch? I shouldn't be fast forwarding through flashbacks in a TEN EPISODE SEASON. TEN! Not even THIRTEEN! The first three episodes of this season were good, but it's just been downhill from there. I'll watch out the season finale out of allegiance, but I'm really just getting to the point where I'm going to have to forget this show ever existed and just pretend that not-as-bad Nemesis was JLP's final hurrah. Ugh.
  25. I hope we're done being in Picard's mind - SO BORING. I also felt many other things are moving slowly. Similar to Disco, I'll finish out the season and that might be it. Well, one possible exception.
