  1. I've wondered in the past if the coats they wear for the parade coverage are provided (and selected?) by Macys. They always wear different coats than what they wear on the Today Show earlier in the morning.
  2. Do you mean Stephanie Gosk? Jenna Wolfe hasn't been on the show in years.
  3. They mentioned it on the 3rd hour.
  4. I really doubt Savannah is. She seems pretty happy with the two kids and she's 47. Although Tamron Hall is even older, so I guess it's not impossible. Dylan mentioned at some point that she wants to have another kid this year, but I don't think she is currently pregnant.
  5. I thought he was talking about the Megyn Kelly situation. We know Al was really angry about that. Craig said something about Al being willing to talk to the bosses. Unless the timeline with Matt is different than what they said publicly, the bosses decided to fire him before they even told the hosts.
  6. I think the main impetus for Savannah's trip to LA was to interview Ellen for the Today Show, not the other way around.
  7. I agree that the five minute segment was excessive but the videos were cute. I do think that being gone for two weeks was a big deal for Savannah, Hoda and Dylan. Probably none of them had been away from their kids before for anywhere near that long. It wasn't a big deal for Al because he's done it many, many times before and his son is much older.
  8. Savannah did Nightly News last night and tonight (Lester has the flu). That's got to be tough with Today ending at 11 pm and Nightly starting at 8:30 - although she's obviously done worse with the conventions, election nights, etc. To me, the fact that Savannah always is the one to substitute shows that NBC doesn't consider Megyn Kelly a real part of their serious news team.
  9. Did they say that Bobby had already lost his job before the fire? Because it would be unusual for even a lower middle-class family to be living in an apartment like that in St. Paul. Most families, even lower middle class and some poor families live in houses (including rentals), not apartments. So if Bobby did lose his job and that forced them to move there, he could feel guilty for that as well. Of course it course it could just be an inaccuracy in the show - it certainly wouldn't be the biggest one. My interpretation of the second apartment was that it was an unoccupied one that he somehow was able to use. I think he may have mentioned something about the super near the end of the episode? In that case, the heat and electricity may have been turned off, which would explain why he was using a gas lamp and heater. It still would be extremely careless for anyone, much less a firefighter, to leave them on unattended though. Side note, I hate that movies and TV shows seem to always use Minnesota as a stand in for a faraway place that characters either come from or move to. But in this case Peter Krause really is from Minnesota, so I guess it can be forgiven.
  10. Sometimes they tape interviews earlier in the morning. So KLG may have done the interview while Hoda was doing the 7-9am show.
  11. It was announced last week that Savannah would be back on Friday (March 3rd), but then today it was announced that she'll be back tomorrow. It makes sense that she'd want to be there to interview George Bush on Monday and to go to Capitol Hill on Tuesday but it's weird to me that they announced one thing and then switched it. I wonder what changed over the weekend?
  12. Hoda Kotb is on the first two hours a lot too, in addition to being the co-host of the fourth hour.
  13. I doubt she is worried about Katie or Meredith - they are both there for one week only to celebrate Matt and the show's anniversaries. Katie works for Yahoo and I doubt Meredith is interested anyway. Plus they're both 15 years older than Savannah (which shouldn't matter but probably does). Now Megyn Kelly on the other hand... It was reported that Savannah signed a contract extension in December, but I don't think it was ever confirmed.
  14. Why does the Today Show even bother to do national weather if they're only going to cover the east coast + Chicago? They had a reporter this morning talking about how "bitterly cold" it was in Chicago but it was in the 20s. And then Al kept saying how the super cold weather would be moving east. Meanwhile, it was -6 this morning in Minneapolis, while New York and Boston are both still above freezing (and don't look to be getting particularly cold any time soon).
  15. Savannah called in to the show this morning and had a super cute video of Vale meeting Charley. It sounded like she might still be in the hospital though? I hope everything is ok.
