My thoughts exactly, on both counts.
  2. Actually, I believe that was the character “Cassandra Rowlins” with Victor. Can’t offhand remember the actress’s name. She was the object of Paul’s desire for a while, and the original inhabitant of the stone house where Abby lived. I think she married Brad at some point?

I'm an Ali fan as well. 😞 He'll be missed weekday afternoons. Watching at 8am on weekends is not on my viewing roster.
  4. I like this one a lot also. But I don’t recall any particular Christmas elements in it at all. Nudge my memory if I’m wrong?
  5. I usually just use the app on my iPad, but have noticed it makes you log in way too often. Not every time, but way more often than is necessary. And it is a pain in neck.
  6. After all the talk of Dodsworth here, I was thinking I'd give it a fresh viewing next time I should come across it, whenever that might be, since I hadn't really watched it in years. Turned on the TV to TCM at that moment and lo and behold, Dodsworth was coming on in 3 minutes! How convenient--thanks TCM! I agree with the comments about the modern, un-stilted quality to the performances of Huston and Astor. And seeing Chatterton's character get her comeuppance really is satisfying. I found it to be a much better movie than I'd remembered, so thanks for drawing my attention to this one and reopening my eyes to it.
  7. She used to hawk lipstick on infomercial many, many years ago as well.
  8. The TODAY show is convinced we want to know all about these people's families and see all their families all. the. time.
  9. The bolded, underlined portion. This. Yes.
  10. I did enjoy the feature on Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary this morning. Wish they would do more interesting stories like this, and less focus on babbling about babies.
  11. In reply to ruby24's search for more 50s era soapiness, I agree about Susan Slade and Autumn Leaves being more good soapy drama. I'll add Harriet Craig (which is a quirky story about a woman who loves her house more than her husband) and Magnificent Obsession, which is more tempestuous than All that Heaven Allows, but stars Rock and Jane circa about a year earlier. Back Street which was just on a few days ago is fun, and I think is still on the WatchTCM app. And Madam X with Lana Turner is a good old potboiler.
  12. Chelsea is returning? "to reprise her fan-favorite role"--really?? If they return to Chelsea and Adam together, she'll look like nuAdam's mom.
