I kid. That would be an even bigger surprise lol.

It`s not often you get to laugh at the Patriots (because they're usually so good *grumble*) so I enjoyed last night. They'll be back, "Evil Bill" won't let it be any other way,

Taylor Swift: cannot stand her voice, her trying to be cool by dropping "some mad shade y'all" schtick and her victim routine. Any of the 1D guys: none of them have released any good music but yet, they're everywhere. Ed Sheeran: hasn't been good since +. Lady Gaga: never found her music entertaining. All of the mumble rappers out there right now (e.g. Future, XXX-whatever, the many Lil' somethings etc): I can't hear most of what they're saying tbh. The girl who left Fifth Harmony: her voice is incredibly shrill & irritating. Diplo/Major Lazer: they haven't made good music since 2013 if I'm being kind. Justin Beiber. Lorde/Lana Del Rey: they put me to sleep. Most of the pop acts out there (except Fifth Harmony who after multiple listens to their latest album thanks to my sister, I may now like). Khalid: snore fest of an album and a close to monotone voice. DJ Khaled: way too much of him around these days.

The Good: The Luthors. Snapper Carr. The Bad: The focus on the relationship between Kara & Mon-El to the detriment of her characterisation and her relationship with those around her (especially J'onn). Alex's relationship kinda did the same thing wrt to the time spent between the sisters but to a lesser extent. The Ugly: The Guardian.

After all of the build up and hype, I wish they had just given us Jessica Jones Season 2 instead of this. The Defenders was bland to me and that's one thing I can't have in my comic book shows. The minute I realised that the plot was going to be centred around Danny Rand/Iron Fist I thought "Oh no" and nothing about the following episodes made me think it was a smart idea at all. I don't know if it's the actor or the writing but this incarnation of Iron Fist sucks! The best thing about the show was Jessica & Matt's relationship but everything else was just meh to boring for me. The heroes: Jessica is still the best for me (they also seriously downplayed her strength in this). Matt was great when he didn't have his Elektra blinkers on. Luke Cage was fine and you already know how I feel about Danny Rand. The villains: Alexandria started out just fine but then we were always told how dangerous she was and yet we hardly get to see it. Then she gets offed by Elektra who was just as personality-derived here as she was in Daredevil. The sidekicks: Karen needs to go and never come back. Not nearly enough Trish and/or Malcom but we got plenty of Karen *rolls eyes*. Claire was not as front and centre as I thought she'd be considering she knows almost everyone. *My rankings for the Netflix Marvel shows: Jessica Jones> Daredevil 1> first half of Luke Cage> Daredevil 2> second half of Luke Cage> Defenders. I won't be watching this again. *Haven't watched Iron Fist.

Jon Snow is still a dumbass. Tyrion is a terrible hand. Poor Viserion :( Arya is kinda like Jon: she doesn't know as much as she thinks she does.

In our house, our theory is that Missandei is doing her own hair and Dany's. No idea who's doing Jon's hair though.

Sigh...this poster and the trailer are not giving me anything to feel excited about with this movie.

This movie (and Wonder Woman) was the only superhero movie I wanted to watch when it was announced. Haven't watched any Marvel property since Age of Ultron and the less said about DC right now the better but I'm so ready for this that if they started selling tickets right now, I'd buy some for four straight weekends. I'm that hype about the cast alone, forget the plot or anything else! SDCC is gonna be so good for this and I wish I could've made it :(

Finally got the chance to see this last weekend and I just want to reiterate how grateful I am that Zack Snyder was not in charge of this. Easily the best DCU film recently (not that the bar was set high) and I'm so happy that it's getting a sequel with Patty Jenkins at the helm again. The last thing I saw Gal Gadot in was the F&F movie (before being cast as WW) and I remember being mad that her character died so I was happy to see her nab the WW role and absolutely smash it. Also full credit to the supporting cast: Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen etc who were just as good in their respective roles. All in all, I give this movie a solid A- (a few nitpicks here and there made me grade it as that lol).

I'm gonna try and sort out my thoughts about this season. It's probably one of the weaker ones so far (Season 3 still remains the worst because of the Stella character) but when I think about how much time passes in this season, things make a little more sense to me. IIRC all of Season 5 occurs over roughly 3 days so they oscillating emotions from almost every character makes perfect sense when you realise that people are trying to deal with the grief/shock/rage of Poussey's death and stay above water with the whole riot situation. I'll come back and edit this post once I get some time to break it all down. I will say this though: that ending had me close to throwing something at my TV. I can't believe I have to wait another year to see what happens next.

S03.E01: Eye Of The Beholder / S03.E02: The New Frontier
kdm07 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Fear The Walking Dead
Glad I wasn't the only one getting White Supremacists vibes from the compound people. Both sons seem creepy to me with Troy just being more overt with his creepiness. Fare thee well Travis. You went out like the hero you always tried to be. Kim Dickens was a much better actress in Treme. Emoting is like a foreign concept to her on this show. Nick still cares more about random people he's met for all of five seconds (sarcasm) than his own family and it grates. Sticking with show for Alicia and Strand. When they go, I go too. -
This was an episode that had all the elements that would've made me like it but...all I had at the end of it was one big 'meh'. - The writers of this show really do show how awful their writing can be especially when they're trying to make a point. You bring back Cat Grant, great! You then have her in a scene with two other powerful women, even better! Then you took me completely out of it by having her go on and on with her speech. To top it all off, Rhea essentially ended the call with what she honestly could've done within the first ten seconds of Cat's speech, "I have big cannons and can blow you out of the sky without a second thought. Goodbye." - end call. - The political slant. It's never bothered me before but this episode didn't just toe the line between preachy and a slight wink towards real world politics, it stomped all over that line and erected a pulpit for itself. We get it show, we honestly truly get it, no need to emphasise the point like that. - Lena and Cat HAVE to know that Kara is Supergirl right? They're both very smart women who've had enough anvils dropped on their heads about Kara's other life that them not knowing would piss me off. - The president being an alien was...interesting but as someone who values doing things the right way, shouldn't Kara be concerned that they were all conned into voting for an alien as the President of the United States? I'm sure I didn't explain myself all that well but I really didn't find a lot to be interested in during this episode. That being said, I liked seeing Alex being in action with the gun and all (and the falling off the roof thing was cool too), Cat Grant was back (yay), minimal James which made more room for lots of Lena, and Mon-El was tolerable. Oh and good seeing Lillian Luthor again. Superman is being brain-controlled. They better bring the best CGI they could afford for the upcoming battle between him and Kara.

De-lurking here to say she's skimming the surface here by saying she was bullied. My sister (who's a big 5H fan) told me she was racially abused on social media with some pretty graphic pictures being tweeted to her. That's why she took a break from it then and remains closed off during interviews and such now.

'Defamation' was the highlight of a solid first episode. The Black Caucus was right up there too.

"....Wokémon Go." "That's actually a pretty solid name." "We will catch them all." That sequence had me in stitches! Now for the heavy stuff: The minute I saw the police pull up I knew exactly where this was headed and it still didn't make it any easier to watch. It's interesting to see how when faced with the reality of what their black classmates go to, that was what made the white people at the party really think about what they had been saying/doing. Guess hearing about something and experiencing it will always be two different things. Poor Reggie though. He was so shaken up at the end there.

I was rooting for Lena and Jack. Actually felt kinda bummed that he didn't survive the episode. I'm all for Lena sliding into being a grey character but I'm begging you show, please don't make her a full-on villain. (Katie's accent coming back in bits and pieces is me every time I interact with someone who has a similar accent to mine. It's hard to keep that hidden when that happens.) Wished they had included Alex/J'onn in the main storyline and just removed the Guardian/Winn stuff altogether. Less is more with Mon-El. Let's keep it like that because I actually enjoy him when he's portrayed in small doses like he was tonight. Kara is a reporter again! I actually like the reporter side of her (when they do it right) so I'm glad she's back and interacting with Snapper again. Decent filler episode altogether.

- It's been a long day so I could have forgotten this but have Minnick and Webber actually sat down, BY THEMSELVES, and had a conversation about both their roles now at the hospital? Or did it just descend into childish bickering from the minute she stepped foot into the hospital? I know the adults of the show tend to act like children 95% of the time but I'm reaching my limit here with how ridiculous they're all being. When the residents are acting more like adults than the attendings then we have serious problems. - Either hook them up or don't but either way, resolve this Meredith & Riggs dancing around each other stuff asap. - Jackson was wrong to never hear April out about her taking over the Chief role temporarily but he's not wrong about his mother. Something's going on there with her but we don't know what yet. - Get over yourself Alex. DeLuca always had the patient's life as his first priority not your feelings. - Arizona can like/date Minnick all she wants but she should've said something to Webber. Interesting to see how she gets out of this one.
-
- Better show. Better. - Less is more with Mon-El - Hi Lena (and Lillian)! Welcome back! Apple doesn't fall far from the tree with Lena when it comes to feeling wronged. I have a feeling that assistant will regret helping her mother. - J'onn's methods were questionable but he was 100% to doubt Alex. Also, is that the last we'll see of Dean Cain? - Catco is gone then? Snapper, you decided not to publish the story. Why your boss James isn't questioning your journalistic instinct over this will remain a mystery I guess.
-
The writers must be confused. The title of your show isn't Mon-El writers, it's Supergirl! I think tonight was the final straw. My sister and I made this show our weekly show that we watch together but I can't keep watching this stupid descent into the worst habits of The CW. I just can't.
-
- I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this Kara/Mon-El angle because he's always been such a CW trope and that hasn't changed. It's not working for me but it involves the main character so it'll feature more than I'd ever like. Might have to dvr the episodes and just skip any time the two of them are on screen together. - Winn/Lyra was cute and I'm also one of those who hopes she sticks around. - Felt bad for Maggie. I continue to like the pace they're setting with her and Alex (these writers can't do the same for their supposed OTP too?) - Mr Mxyzptlk is okay as a villain but I'd rather have Lillian Luthor back. She's been the best villain on the show so far. - No James. A plus.
-
All I got from this was the writers recognized an in-show problem, brought in a character to fix that and then executed (and continue to execute) all of it horribly. Most if not all writers rooms have a "head writer" who keeps up with timelines, storylines etc, who's the one for this show because they don't seem to be very good at it.
-
This show is finally finding it's stride again. At this point I've accepted that Kara/Mon-El will be a thing so I just find something else to do when it's just the two of them in a scene together. Flowers Lena? Can you be any more obvious? I'm still on the "Keep Lena morally grey" train because it would be great foil for Supergirl and Kara's characterisations. Alex and Maggie dating? No big deal and everyone keeps it moving. Sigh...James the Guardian is what it is at this point. I know they needed something for the character to do but did it have to be this?
-
Mick was golden (again) from start to finish but what really had me rolling with laughter was Tiny Ray being chased by a rat. I knew Sara wouldn't stay dead (I'm sure Berlanti & Co won't ever make that mistake again) but the way Rip just...killed her was really well done. Evil Rip is the best version of Rip so far. Sara & Jax, the bromance, and Sara & Stein, the father/daughter relationship, continue on and I hope they never ends. Nothing to say about Nate & Amaya as once I realised what was happening, I skipped the scene.

S13.E10: You Can Look (But You'd Better Not Touch)
kdm07 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Grey's Anatomy
Odd place for a bottle episode but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would since it only featured three of the Grey's cast.
