  1. I remember going to camps out in the woods so this was such a call back episode for me lol. I usually get a few good chuckles from every Legends episode but the first half of tonight's episode had me laughing out loud! Another great episode in what has been a great season so far.
  2. Mick was clearly in his element QB-ing this little adventure and yes, the show makes me want little funko pops of all their creatures lol. Constantine is an ass. I'm at "tolerable" level with him but unless something changes over the next few weeks, he'll rise to the top of my highly dislike list on this show. That was an interesting way of bringing Maisie back into the show. I wasn't expecting it at all. I do think keeping her as Amaya 2.0 is a little cruel and now they're stuck with her while also trying to figure out how to keep Nate in the dark. The deadpan in Sara's voice when she said "Because I like to watch you grow" to Nate had me rolling!
  3. I expected more from this whole show. Joe needs to grow tf up. I will be seriously annoyed if the show ends with Joe purging all of the characters (except Penelope, she can go).
  4. So Lila was crazy CRAZY and it was all triggered by her first purge when she was 18!!!! Penelope deserves to die at this point. Stupid people should not be allowed to survive Purge night. I had a feeling that Joe was not all that he seemed and now it's been confirmed. I wish all the captives (except Penelope) the best of luck in their quest to escape.
  5. This show: From a killer unicorn to the Legends getting high off of psychedelics to Gary losing a nipple. What more could you possibly want from a season premier?
  6. Finally! Jane does the smart thing, shoots her skeevy boss and leaves that house. And a quick shout out to Anya who did make the call, too bad the Matron Saints were late. Rick is super jealous but I'm suspicious about Lila's story too. I'm perfectly fine with her being around to kill the neighbour though. Really man? A maple tree, no dinner invite, parking...that's worth killing people over? I still think either Miguel or Penelope isn't surviving this night.
  7. I wonder if by the end of the night, Jane might be thinking dying would've been a better fate than being...pawed at? (Her boss always gave off major creep vibes but a human petting zoo? Gross.) Why does Joe (I think that's Man in the Iron Mask's name) have a tracker/GPS on Jane? And based on his flashback, how did he go from being laid off to an avenging hero? Lila is alive which Jenna will be delighted about but Rick must be cursing the rebel forces right now. I'm pretty suspicious of people just showing up at anyone's door late at night especially on Purge night. Even though they're the least interesting storyline for me, I'm glad Miguel and Penelope managed to escape.
  8. Aaaaannnd I'm back to rooting for nobody but the kid. Joe should've made sure Peach was dead. He's clearly not as smart as he thinks he is.
  9. Jane is beginning to annoy me. I know you feel guilty about the hit but why would you move around without a weapon on Purge night? Next week's episode seems like it'll show just how dumb Jane's decisions have been. I enjoyed the exploration into the character of Penelope but now it looks like she and Miguel may not be leaving the carnival any time soon (thanks Henry!) Rick & Jenna got out quickly, good for them. Something has definitely happened to Lila though, that's why she wouldn't answer the door.
  10. Beck doesn't think much of her friends but man, I definitely don't think much of her either. Shallow and stupid all in one go. Joe continues to be creepy and I guess Peach is next on his kill list. Too bad, I'm beginning to like her.
  11. Started watching this with the gf and we've gotten hooked lol! I'm not rooting for anyone except the kid. Joe is extra creepy and a murderer (probably not the first time he's killed someone). Dan from GG is definitely engaging in this role but I can't see myself rooting for him like I did Dexter. Beck is very much all about her image and turns it on or off based on who she's with. Whoever said she likes to be seen was right and she plays up to it so much. Peach is incredibly self-centered but seems fairly self-aware too? She also may not be close with her parents but her grandfather's work and books in general must mean a lot to her if she can pick out a missing book and know exactly which one it is. I though that too @Chaos Theory
  12. Got to go see this yesterday. Romcoms aren't usually what I go watch at the cinemas but I'm a big fan of Gemma Chan (she's fantastic in Humans) so I decided to check it out. It was enjoyable for what it was but, hopefully this isn't taken the wrong way, the best thing about the movie to me was the cinematography. Those shots of Singapore or the colours at the parties, wedding etc were gorgeous to look at.
  13. I guess I'm in the minority because I really enjoyed it. Maybe it's because it reminds me of being around my extended family where it's just a wall of noise all the time and if you aren't used to it, you can't keep up lol. I also appreciate that it got Rihanna to come out of her shell a little too since she was pretty quiet at the beginning of the interview.
  14. Can we get a Jack Jack and Aunt Edna spinoff? Really enjoyed this one. I took my parents to see it and they usually aren't big on animated movies but they loved it so much they're still talking about it today. Their favourite scenes were the ones between Jack Jack and the raccoon.
  15. I agree. Saw it yesterday and as a fan of the previous ones, I was happy with this one too. A fun heist movie is never a bad thing imho.
  16. Her portrayal of Commander Lexa on The 100 was one of the best things about that show (ymmv of course) so she gets a lot of her popularity from that. I hope she and Strand will be the last ones standing from the original cast as they're the only ones I still care about. So glad Nick is gone. Never liked him and never grew to like him either, not even after his big hero moment last season.
  17. I agree with all of this. Caity said the writers like to peep in to see what the viewers want and Iris moving to Legends is near the top of my list. (Won't happen but one can dream). Wally, like Zari earlier this season, is still figuring out his place on the team. He'll probably feature more (as a character) next season. As for speedster Wally? Take it up with the CW. Most of the Legends are short-changed powerwise because of a lack of budget for the show.
  18. I just need to process the fact that a giant Beebo who's capable of a "come here" motion defeated Mallus with a giant cuddle... This show man. This f****** show!
  19. I'm like everyone else, I don't want this season to end! What am I gonna do until Season 4 starts? - Sara finally got to stab Damian. Too bad she didn't outright killed him because I was cheering when I heard that knife go in. - Can Sara pop in to see Obama for life advice once in awhile? Can that just become a thing? One of the strengths of the show is making something zany seem logical and in step with the rest of the episode; Sara's scenes with Obama did just that. (I miss him too Sara). Same with John Noble being Gandalf and mocking Ray's script was hilarious. - Nate...ugh! I understand you're in love but every time you're with Amaya your stupid levels rise up to 10. You're supposed to be the big history buff so why would you act like it's no big deal to alter the past in such a drastic way?! - I'm pretty neutral on Ava as a character but I want Sara to be happy so if Ava makes her happy then I hope this two crazy kids work it out. Also: - I stand by my Season 2 statement: Rip Hunter is a gigantic dick. It's beyond creepy how he has a timeline filled with Ava clones that he goes into once the old version is disposed of. I'm assuming each time he gets a new version, he alters their personality somewhat which makes even more creepy/sleazy. I'm waiting for the day that Sara's decks him hard, he'll have more than earned it.
  20. Sara without a conscious is a scary, scary thing. No wonder why the League wouldn't let her go easily. That first action sequence was imo, one of the best they've done on Legends. Kudos to Caity Lotz and the stunt team because I was engrossed throughout the entire thing. Mick becoming the fire totem bearer as about as obvious as the death totem being Sara's lol. Are we going to discuss how it may be a little problematic giving a pyromaniac even more fire? (Not that I don't want it, Mick being the totem bearer is all kinds of cool). I doubt this is the end of Sara & Ava. I'm sure these crazy kids will figure it out by the season finale. Also: renew the show already CW! Gary looked so happy to finally be a hero lol, and seemed smitten by Constantine. Mallus tried to sway the wrong person with regards to Sara. She's already been an evil dude's lackey, she probably never wants to do that again.
  21. Just when you think this show can't get any better, they do an in memoriam for Axl the rat. I seriously love this show!
  22. Okay so I finished my re-watch and tried to make note of all the various character beats I missed on my first watch because I was more focused on where the season was going instead of what the season was telling us about each character. Jessica: the interesting thing about her and Trish's relationship that always popped up in Season 1 and became more pronounced in Season 2 was their take on superpowers and normalcy. After all Jessica has been through, she'd trade her powers in any day for a normal life whereas Trish has taken her trauma and used it to look for ways to become even more powerful. Their takes on how to deal with their childhood trauma leads us to how Jessica deals with her mother once she finds her. She had two opportunities to do the "logical" thing and cut ties with her mother but on both occasions she not only tried to protect her mother but she also hid her away from the two people in her life that she trusts the most. I don't blame her for doing this, If my long-thought dead mother came back from the dead I'd be a mess too. The way she dealt with her mother also pushed to the forefront of how, even though she trusts Malcolm and especially Trish with all that she has, she'll always hold back/keep secrets from them. I do wonder what would've happened if she had been completely upfront with them about her mother once she returned from that house instead of hiding her in the apartment. Jessica also tries to regain that normalcy she craves by sharing dinner with her super and his son at the end of the season but to be honest, I don't see that going anywhere. She has too much going on in her head that she has to deal with before she can be a in fully-functional relationship. Trish: sigh...again, another who's shades of grey got amplified this season. I don't doubt that she wants to help people or do the right thing but the conversation she had with the doctor about feeling powerless because she grew up with an abusive mother and a super-powered sister made me remember the scene in Season 1 when a younger Trish told a younger Jessica not to save her. Trish's biggest fear is being powerless and that leads to her enabling her worst habits based on whatever's going on in her life. After nearly dying, I thought she would've pumped the breaks on trying to be a superhero but then I thought "This is Trish, she'll probably try even harder now because near death is another sign of being powerless". Like Jessica, she has trouble truly being honest with the people she professes to trust the most and it leads her into situations that she should honestly know better than to enter in. Should she have gone after Jessica and her mother the second time? Yes because when it comes to Jessica, Trish does crazy stupid things all the time (again see Season 1 with her eating the red pills) and she was trying to stop Jessica from being killed by the police. She should've definitely not shot her mother though even if she claimed that she thought Jessica was being manipulated by her (I kinda agreed with her on that point). Now we'll see how exactly she's going to cope with being super-powered after chasing after it for so long. Both she and Jessica need to find a therapist who'll they'll actually want to work with instead of the ones they've seen and been reluctant to truly let go with. Malcolm: for most of the season I felt for him. Jessica never treated him like an employee and even when she promoted him to 'associate' she barely treated him right then either. He was keeping Alias Investigations running while Jessica was off doing her thing and (I could be wrong) but I don't think she ever thanked him once for the work he was putting in. He lost me when he agreed to sleep with Trish and then joined the other PI guy. With Trish, as a former addict himself, he should've known what she was trying to do with him and well...the other PI guy isn't worth anyone's time tbh. Jeri: her journey interested me right from the minute we found out about her illness. For someone who's so used to being in control, in power, having a fatal disease must've been the worst kind of shock. She dealt with it the way I figured she would; by ignoring it and then descending into a haze of destructive behaviour. The real Jeri Hogarth appeared again at the end when she decided that she was going to keep being herself even if time was running out. I think though, if she figured out that IGH's methods actually work, she'll try and heal herself. In short: this season showed us the blindspots that the main characters have and how those blindspots have us where we are when the season ended. None of them have ever truly addressed those blind spots about each other or themselves. Now with pretty much everything in the open, we'll see if our characters will address those issues head on or bottle them up like they've done before.
  23. I have a lot of thoughts. I think I'll need a rewatch before putting them down but I came away from this season with this as one of my major thoughts: Trish...
  24. We lose Arizona and April but we're still stuck with Deluca, numerous interns and Owen Hunt? And with April leaving, we get to witness the rise of Jackson/Maggie (ugh...). Yeah...I'm close to quitting this show now. EDIT: Less than 48 hours notice with pilot season already over and the current season still ongoing, is no way to treat members of your cast that have been there for close to ten years now.
