  1. I was a little disappointed. It felt rushed & choppy & the pawn shop crime had me all confussd. Were those both sisters of the victim? How did he figure one of them did it? Did I miss where they determined it wasn't a gun that killed him? Would this be considered a pilot, so I can excuse the rush of it all?
  2. How much did Mayim Bialik dislike being on "What Not To Wear" that the writers worked it into this episode, or did she ask them to? A bit meta. I wanted to like the show, but it felt awkward & not funny. I've never seen an episode of "Miranda", I assume this does that show a disservice.
  3. Well I for one was snookered. I did feel there was a disconnect between Joe's speaking and singing voice, but I never thought it was a Milli Vanilli situation.
  4. My only exposures to the Flash were the 90s show, which I loved (and I know people age, but John Wesley Shipp looks a bit different to me that doesn't seem to just be from aging) and the Justice League cartoon, where the Flash was one of my favorite characters. Thus, I think this show was made just for me. It seems pretty well cast; I am a fan of Jesse Martin and Tom Cavanagh, don't really know any of the others but thought they did a great job, especially GG. I guess I should add I haven't seen John Wesley Shipp in anything beyond the 90s Flash (no Dawson Creek ran in my house), so maybe I missed the part where he aged as he did. I look forward to Mark Hamill making an appearance, once he's done shooting another reference from his past.
  5. I was thinking about regarding the Sonya Zach & Amy piece: would I have been as moved or brought to tears if I didn't know the story? Isn't the dance itself supposed to convey the emotion or the message without explanation? Or shouldn't we be able to interpret the dance how we see it? I feel this is a common issue on SYTYCD, or maybe it's just my issue with it. Don't tell me, show me. Dangabit. I don't know how that would work though, since America is voting off the dancers at this point. There isn't a way to determine the bottom four before we vote.
  6. 'Bang Bang' by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
  7. I second jennylauren123's title suggestion.
  8. I didn't realize they were going to be announcing the All-Star pairings for every week at the end of the show. I turned it off during the "This Is Your Journey" montage for Emilio and Bridget. Could someone post the pairings for next week, please and thank you? My two biggest disappointments of the night were Rudy being safe with Emilio leaving, and the Ricky/Lauren number. I don't know if it was the dancing or the choreography (I usually like Mandy Moore) but that number felt like a dud. Nothing impressed me, nothing moved me, it was just... blah.
  9. I knew Poirot was ending and was surprised last night's episode was the final one. It didn't seem final. Then I came here and now I know why I'm confused. I really hope this wasn't a ploy or ball dropped by PBS. As much as I enjoy Poirot, I don't enjoy him enough to seek out the final episode. I admit to not paying as much attention to the beginning of the episode, so perhaps I missed where Poirot would've gotten the idea to jump to as many conclusions as he did, re: the son who wasn't dead and the Italian being Hattie.
  10. I wasn't quite sure how to read Alan and Celia responding to Kate and Caroline's kissing. It seemed Alan was perturbed/disgusted, which kind of surprised me as I thought he was okay with it, and Celia seemed put off as well, which really surprised me as she seemed to be secretly pushing Kate and Caroline back together during the whole episode (asking Kate to play the piano at the ceremony, asking Kate to stay after the ceremony, etc.) Maybe I read them wrong?
  11. When they were talking about 'girl power', I thought maybe she choreographed the dance to a Spice Girls song, and I kind of got excited. Don't judge me? I don't have cable, and my digital antenna signal will be sketchy sometimes. The image will freeze or the sound will cut out. Usually it's annoying, but at some point last night, I think after Rudy & Tanisha's performance (?), my sound cut out right as Mary Murphy started her hootin' & hollerin' "Hot Tamale Train" schtick. It was a blessing in disguise. I would've preferred Serge stay over Rudy. When Rudy & Tanisha dance, I watch Tanisha. When Serge & Carly danced, I watched Serge. Not knowing anything about the technical aspects of the foxtrot, I thought Serge did quite well.
  12. I do not usually watch the auditions, mainly because I don't want to see the fathers who embarrass themselves and their families, or the people desperate for attention, or all the sob stories. My digital reception was a little spotty yesterday (darn rabbit ears), so I was glad to miss some of the aspects I don't care for. On the other hand, it was hard to pay attention to the legit dancers. None of the auditions stuck with me from last night, so either I am not easily impressed anymore or it was just a lackluster group. I was wondering what is the male equivalent to the HMV, because I felt like the guys were doing that quite a bit as well.
