Wishful thinking, I'm afraid.

Blue Bell just came out with a limited edition called "Chocolate Malt Shop." It is chocolate malt ice cream studded with tiny malted milk balls. I bought a pint to dive into on Halloween. (Although I had to take a small taste and it was delicious!) I made shortbread to have with it. Happy Halloween!

Yeah. I saw that. The white chocolate was getting all clumpy. I don't think the combination of caramel and white chocolate would be very good. A good example of "less is more."
Was Giada the only parent supervising all of those little kids?

I'd like to know how Katie is able to tie that icky red ribbon on her finger every morning. Seems like a nearly impossible task...
I'm really hating on Myrna.

Check out this interesting tidbit..
I happen to subscribe to the Pixiewoo channel and caught this interview this morning.

I made up a bunch of single-serving dinners and froze them so I wouldn't have to cook when I was home recovering from hip replacement surgery. I'm really glad that I did. So tonight, I am having puerco cubano. When I made it, I paired it with orzo because at that time, I'd just finished up a big batch up vegetable curry with rice and I was really tired of rice. I'm also having green beans and a salad.
This recipe actually came from a culinary mystery novel. Many year ago I started the "Goldie Schulz" series written by Diane Mott Davidson. I picked the books back up over the summer and since there were several new additions, I re-read them all in order. Some of the recipes sounded good, so I decided to try them.
This recipe uses ground pork and is flavored with garlic, oregano and fresh orange and lime juices. It is very different. I'm not sure if I'll make it again, but it's a nice departure from my usual fare.
Another recipe I tried from those books was for a low-fat sour cream cherry coffee cake that I make frequently.

I want to see Ree make jalapeno lemonade. That would be a first and within her comfort zone!

What is the look supposed to be? "Action Rapper?" Word. That poor kid. (I am in the small group who does not find her to be the least bit cute.) I can't imagine trying to stuff a squirming toddler's chubby little arms through the armholes or whatever they are. At least it looks like the fringe is limited in range so that she can't grab up the hem of the cape/poncho and chew on a handful of it.

I remember that. She said something like "engines falling from the sky." I think I still have that on tape somewhere.

Hi. I am doing as well as can be expected two weeks out from surgery. It's slow-going, but still beats the total heck out of the awful pain I was in before. I wish I could have a "Cooking with Ina" dream where she reveals the secret to the HVPoD. LOL!
@Lura: I have a page from an old Parade magazine from 2002 and there was a recipe for "Tuscan Oven Greens and Grains" that I have, to this day, never tried. At first, I thought maybe it was the recipe you referred to, but after re-reading your post, noticed that there are no beans in the recipe I found.

I loved those Betty Crocker snack cakes, too. My favorite flavor was chocolate chip.

That outfit makes Kim's legs look like they are about 2" long. I can't imagine leaning against a movie theatre seat or even worse, the hot seat of a car.
Why doesn't Kanye just have her parade around naked? It's about the same difference.
Why doesn't that vapid twit grow a backbone and tell that asshole that she'll dress as she pleases? (not that it would probably be much better...but still.)
BTW, I've never seen anybody's own ass cast a shadow on the back of their thighs.

What HAS become of Aunt Sandy, anyway? Did she just completely give up TV and cookbooks? Is the magazine still around?
She doesn't seem the type to just drop out of the public spotlight like she has.

I was in the hospital last week for hip replacement surgery and am now home and on the mend. The funniest thing has been that my first two nights at home under my own covers, I dreamed about Ina! (Must have been the terrible hospital food...) Both times, she was giving me cooking classes. The one that stands out the most was that we made some type of raspberry dessert (crumble, crisp?) and Ina tasted it and made a horrible face and told me I'd used too much salt! LOL! (I think I heard somebody say on FN in the background to add salt to a dish to bring out the fruit flavor...)
The second time, it was a small dinner party and we'd prepared a prime rib with a mustard sauce. The meat was thinly sliced and on a platter with the sauce and cocktail rye bread. Whomever (I will say TR just because!) and I were at one end of the table and thought it would be great fun to stab pieces of roast off of Ina's and Geoffrey's plates. Geoffrey would have none of that and returned with a plate of meat, sauce and bread and shoved it to the other end of the table where we were sitting. Ina thought the whole thing was amusing.
Dreams..... who knows????

Why is Liam now reading up on pregnancy? I would have thought he'd have gotten an education when he and Steffy were expecting their baby. I was fully waiting for him to ask Hope if she was craving pickles and ice cream.
It's worth repeating...Hope is too immature and self-centered to be a mother. Sulking and admitting jealousy over Liam and Ivy is a good indicator. I still laugh when Hope tries to stand up to Quinn. It's comical.
Ridgepen can stay away for a good long time, as far as I'm concerned. I don't know what demographic his grungy nasty appearance appeals to, but it sure ain't here.

Nancy meant "Neapolitan" cupcakes, didn't she? By the end of the show (after the first round of gigi juice) she was referring to them as "Napoleon."

Not only that, but there never was an explanation of the foreign accent. I think that TK is a poor substitute as Ridge.

My sister had a novel idea to why not just puree everything into a smoothie? They are trendy right now and it would definitely transform the ingredients. Toss in a handful of kale or spinach and chia seeds and there you have it!

GAH!!! How many times did she say "those kids" and "F-R-E-S-H?" We get it Nancy. OK.
/small voice ... those s'more cookies looked mighty good though

I did not SAY that TNT or Warner Bros. was circulating the petition. I went to the site and saw that the goal was 60,000 signatures and at that time, there were close to 15,000 gathered.
I also stated that I doubted this effort will do any good.

Right now, the petition has close to 25% of the required signatures. It's a noble effort, but I doubt it will do any good.
I'm all for dumping the Mexican drug cartel bullshit, but what would the writers replace it with? The Ewings far outnumber the Barnes unless some newly-created distant relatives crawl out of the woodwork.
I'm inclined to agree with the sentiment that things started going downhill after Larry Hagman died. That might have been a better time to spring this long-lost daughter. It seemed like the EP figured this out at the very last possible minute and now it's too late.

@cooksdelight, I'm so sorry about your cat. (((HUGS)))
Geez...FN has a whole untapped market of potential "genre" competitors. How about fast-food cooks from burger chains: Micky D's vs. Burger King vs. Carl's Jr., vs. Hardee's...

Another episode where Nancy mixed up salad with her bare hands. OBTW, Nancy is going to be a guest on "The Kitchen" next Saturday.
