  1. Estelle does some amazing voice work on Steven Universe.
  2. I seem to be keeping up with the Kardashians against my will (they are everywhere, and I just can't stop reading about them!), but I read absolutely everything Al Lowe throws down! These recaps will have to keep me entertained until the Wheel of Mystery is back.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions! I just started listening to Sword and Scale. It is, how you say, dramatic. Very, dramatic music cues and some sound effects! It was a little jarring at first, but I got used to it, and the stories are pretty interesting. And I hadn't heard of the Generation Why podcast, but I'll check it out. Thanks again!
  4. Hi, I have a question for Sarah, and I hope it's OK to ask it here since you mentioned Serial in this week's EHG. First, I've enjoyed the addition of your true crime corner (complete with spooky music) to the podcast. But I was wondering if you could recommend any other good true crime podcasts? I've listed to Serial, and I listed to Undisclosed, Criminal and Crime Writers On... And I also listed to Breakdown, which I really enjoyed. Since you seem to be a bit of an expert on the subject, I was wondering if you had any others to recommend? I've done some searching, and am not sure about where to go next. Thanks so much! Also, listed means listened every single time I wrote it! I'm not sure what brain trauma caused that.
  5. Can I ask how it was spelled out? I was only paying half attention, so I guess I missed something. I thought Boone was definitely in one of the devil costumes during the street tussle with the golf frat because Chad was only knocked out and not injured. I took this to be Boone protecting his friend. Do you think these two particular devils were just copycats? Who was in the other devil costume? (honestly curious about all the theories!) I was also curious about Gigi. Does anyone else think it's weird that the national president (I think that's what she called herself in the first episode?) of a sorority like KKT would be someone like Gigi-a graduate of a fourth tier law school in the Caribbean (not to disparage Caribbean law school graduates!)? I would just think a sorority filled with millionaires and billionaires would have someone a bit more...fancy? as their president. And the way she showed up in the first episode seemed a bit suspect. Chanel obviously hadn't called her for help. The show is so crazy, I don't know what's a clue or what's just bad writing, so it's hard to really try to figure things out (reminds me of The Killing in that way. But at least Scream Queens doesn't take itself so seriously).
  6. Does anyone know if the show will be covering all three books, or just the first one? I've heard both theories.
  7. I'm another one who's read the books, and I have to agree with Kobo Duram that the revelations of what was really going on, in the books at least, had me floored. Of all the things I had speculated, I didn't even come close. I'm not 100% sure if I want to watch the show. 10 episodes almost seems like too little time to cover everything in the three books, but I guess that's all about pacing. I'm also not a huge Matt Dillon fan, so I was disappointed when I saw that he'd been cast, although I've heard he's quite good. @orientalamish: I think I would really notice if crickets were missing, especially in the spring or summertime. Every time the crickets stop around my house I freak out a little (it's usually a harbringer of something bad). Maybe it depends on where you're from how unsettling it might be?
  8. Thanks, dcalley! I didn't even think to look at the whole evening. I wonder if it will be that way for the rest of the season since Last Man on Earth is over? thanks again!
  9. In my market (St. Louis), the guide said this week was a repeat of Purple Rain-union, so I didn't bother to watch. Is anyone else here from my area? I'm assuming now it was only an error on the guide. I'll have to check on demand as soon as I get home!
  10. I don't know a lot about the history of this show-what happened on the Blake and Kristen episode? I'm very curious after reading the comments.
  11. Matt K: thanks! I actually went back and rewatched it tonight (it's on demand for those who have it), and I noticed the tapestry. From what I read I was picturing something more live action-y, with like a Bill shadow and worshiping people. Having the tapestry in the Northwest manor is certainly interesting, though. Stopeslite: Pacifica's dress really bothered me! All that fuss her mom made of seafoam versus lakefoam, and she shows up in violet!
  12. I read that the shortened intro was so there could be more content. I'm not sure how true that it (I watched it in real time). Also, I read that at the end of the episode Bill Cipher appeared with people bowing to him? Did anyone else catch that? I thought the episode ending with the agents. On the one hand, I liked Dipper walking away from McGucket, I think it shows some character development, but as a fan of the show, I just want to know what's on the laptop! Kalliste-I think the next episode is in early March.
  13. does anyone know when the next new episode is set to air?
  14. When it comes to judging, I wonder if the judges take the competition as a whole into consideration as opposed to just one task? Taken as a whole, I think Erin has shown a lot more imagination through the competition than Punky (although personality wise, I did like Punky more. Erin is just too twee). And I hate cloves, so the thought of biting into a cookie and getting a whole clove in my mouth just freaks me out. As others said, I don't know why she just didn't use a raison or a chocolate chip or something like that.
  15. Finally saw this episode last night, and I loved it. Although I do admit that Soos is much younger than I thought. I loved all the characters this episode, and how they all banded together to make Soos feel better, and I loved the little insight we got into Stan and Soos' relationship. No news on the agents! Which isn't surprising considering we were rarely in the present this episode.
