  1. This is my problem with every vampire show I have ever seen. I really think any show where we are supposed to believe someone is ageless should only last four years or less. Or perhaps they could plan the story out, and then film in in four years even if they spread the episodes into five or six seasons.
  2. I understand what you are saying and that the original source material was not meant to be as such. Regardless, when I watched the pilot, that was the general "feel" that I got from it. Obviously, this is simply my opinion and is based off of only one episode so I could just be reading it completely wrong. Even if that is the way the pilot felt, subsequent episodes could prove to be truer to the source material.
  3. Honestly, I would be bummed if I signed on for a RomCom that didn't have a Happy Romantic Ending. Any other kind of show and I would completely understand an argument for either a non-romantic ending or an unhappy ending period. I admit that I am one of those who generally like my comedic entertainment to be fun, not depressing so I'm not looking for extreme realism in my sitcoms.
  4. It was decent enough but certainly nothing I haven't seen before. If I continue watching it will only be because I have questions that need answers. Where does his old body go when he dies and is resurrected? Does it simply disappear into thin air? When he resurrects into water, is it simply any body of water or the closest body of water or...? The one thing I did like is that the mysterious "fan" wasn't just a creeper who noticed too much but someone who is in the same situation as Henry. The mystery of why this is happening to him is more interesting to me if the answer isn't just that he's "special".
  5. I liked this far more than I thought I would and probably more than I should. I am aware it wasn't anything amazing but I have a soft spot for John Cho and would watch anything he was as lead in as long as it wasn't truly horrendous. Even knowing it wasn't great, I think that Karen Gillan did a nice job of making me feel for someone I would genuinely not like in my real life. As someone said above, her voice affect worked for me and I loved the way her character kind of hunched over much of the time. The bad posture and the way her arms and hands stayed close to her body really made me feel like she is kind of stuck in this state of permanent puberty where she never grew up, got any less narcissistic, or more comfortable in her own skin. The worst part of the whole pilot was definitely everything that happened on the plane. I thought of recommending it to a friend but they have a weak stomach and would retaliate in some way (or at least send me a strongly worded email) if I purposefully sent them off to watch something that gross. If enough people watching can get past that maybe it will stand a chance but I won't hold my breath.
