  1. Osmond stepped out, affects GOE. Zagitova just did her combo in another jumping pass, she didn’t make a mistake.
  2. Very disappointing showing by the US ladies. Maybe they were all just happy to be there, and that was good enough...
  3. I didn’t know Sasha got divorced either. Hopefully, it wasn’t as ugly as Michelle Kwan’s divorce.
  4. Tara made an interesting point about Russia rewarding skaters for trying more difficult elements and implementing that after Vancouver and the US not doing it until after Sochi. That’s the first I’ve heard of this and I follow figure skating regularly.
  5. shocker, Carolina was scored appropriately
  6. Technically good but artistically very meh. I’d have her behind Katelyn but she’ll probably be in first...
  7. Her SB was 81.06 so not that much higher than her usual.
  8. Daleman has the highest PCS so far. All reputation I suppose, perks of being a world medalist. I disagree.
  9. I think she should’ve been ahead of Daleman.
  10. Great point. Gracie was in the final group in Sochi and both Mirai and Rachel Flatt were in the final group in Vancouver and of course before then we always had medalists. I’m not sure we’ve ever not had a ladies skater in the top 6 after short program at Olympics.
  11. Sigh... I guess I’m going to have to root for Caro.
  12. Expect the quality of skating to vastly improve now. And thank goodness.
  13. Breaking in a new pair of skates is a BIG DEAL. Not practical to have separate pairs.
  14. Tanith just broke it down on NBCSports, 80s for Top Russians, high 70s for bronze contenders like Kostner and Osmond. Low 70s for other group 5 contenders. None of the Americans have scored in the 70s this season. Bradie had the best SB at 67.01 which is too far off her score tonight.
  15. Okay seriously, why does Johnny call Terry “Terence”? She’s 5’6”
  16. Judging by the poor quality of skating in these first groups, I’d say awhile. I know she’s a relative unknown but it’s nuts her ranking couldn’t get in at least group 2 or 3.
  17. Women’s event is always unpredictable, I think one of the Russian ladies does well but not both. Pressure will get to one of them 2014 - Adelina: upset 2010 - Yuna: favorite 2006 - Shizuka: upset 2002 - Sarah: upset 1998 - Tara: upset 1994 - Oksana: co-favorite (she was reigning world champion)
  18. Don’t disagree with you, H/D’s PCS we’re still higher than the Shibs.
  19. They need a seasons best but they earned it, IMO.
  20. Grand Prix Final scores for comparison
