  1. One thing that really bothered me is no one, not even the dicky insurance guy, mentioned that it was Leah's fault the hack even happened. If she's in charge the buck stops with her and she knew the network was vulnerable as she got her job by smugly hacking it. They didn't talk at all about how the intrusion happened and what was done to harden things so there wasn't another attack immediately after she booted everything back up off her implausible recovered drive. Getting everything back up means nothing if the door is still wide open. I don't think she should have gotten in trouble for it, depending on how the breach happened, but she probably shouldn't have been treated like a hero either.
  2. So this episode needed to be extra long because why? Nothing actually happened. Did anything even really happen all season?
  3. Is she all of the sudden going to discover it or come out?
  4. Thank you! I was coming here to say the same thing. And I don't think this is the first time she's said she came out as poly. I mean I guess it isn't my place to question her truth or whatever, but as presented by the show, she didn't so much come out as arbitrarily decide on a whim. I think it really does a disservice to those that are poly and those that have had to come out as anything to present it in the way the show has.
  5. It may be a type of gaslighting or he's just narcissistic enough to believe that he's not a problem. The biggest sexual harasser I've ever dealt with is now making the speaking rounds as an expert in lifting up women in tech. He's got a woman doing the speaking tour with him, likely for the prestige that being a speaker at these big events gives -- there's literally no way she doesn't know how bad he is, it's openly talked about.
  6. I don't like Nikki Glaser. She's no Iain Stirling (narrator for Love Island UK).
  7. I've worked in tech in Los Angeles for 20 years. The only time I've seen a company without benefits is when it was an entertainment company that had a tech team and was using a freelance/permalance model that is common in entertainment, but even in that case what Gael was doing probably would have been a staff position with benefits. I've never seen a tech start-up, which is what Spekulate seems like, with no benefits.
  8. I feel like Nakia(?) isn't as dumb as the other two women, but that's not a high bar. IDK, I just have a special dislike for CJ. She's on a show where ostensibly the premise is to not date fuckboys and she's like "you look like you'll ruin my life, I want to date you." She also gets outraged at the dumbest things. I think she's kind of a fuckgirl.
  9. It's been a while since I've watched a show like this. I love that their jobs are all influencer, content creator, tiktoker, bit coin trader, brand ambassador, image consultant and the blonde has a goal of "having a brand". CJ is kind of dim isn't she? The blonde kind of seems dumb too. What was kind of hilarious to me watching that first mixer is they were all gravitating to the fuckboys because they had game and the non-fuckboys were kind of awkward and off-putting.
  10. I can't tell if it is me being less cranky or what, but the show seems less preachy the last few episodes and like the issues just fit in more naturally and people are more likable. It may just be that they fixed Callie.
  11. Just catching up on this show. Wish the kids would have been the casualties instead of Hoyt. And if only one kid, I volunteer Stella as tribute.
  12. Interesting. That area is nice, but definitely not as swanky, especially as you approach Melrose. It's mostly just middle class families right there. At least it was last I was over there.
  13. I'm in LA about 2 miles from Hancock Park. I've tripled since 2010. I didn't have time to look up stats farther back beyond 2016. 2016-present shows a pretty steady increase at around 10% per year, charts for LA do not show a sustained 10% per month increase that I see. I was unable to pull comps for the area because there are not a lot of 3/2 houses in Hancock Park, most are larger (I think someone said her new place was 3/2). I was also thinking probably double, but I do not have data to back that up. I also don't see her being able to be as submissive as he apparently likes 'em. She'd demur to Tom and act like he was her dad, but I just can't see her going full on sub.
  14. I was expecting better. It seems like with American Horror Story things are pretty good for at least a few episodes before things go off the rails and I stop watching. So I figured that telling smaller stories would solve that problem. But man, this was not good. The other 2 were better, but not great.
  15. If it was $1.5M in 2014 it is totally well over $2M now. I think prices have been going up about 10% a year since then.
  16. I think Marianna giving insider information about the IPO that she learned through her relationship with Evan to her friends' lawyers was kind of unethical.
  17. I don't know that $3.5M is that huge of a mortgage for LA, but it is huge for where they should be in terms of how long they have owned the house. It could be that they did a cash out refi to fund some other business deal etc. because interest rates have been so low. IDK, if that makes sense for rich people though because I'm not rich. However, $850/sqft is not a big deal. You've got crap shack tear downs in bad areas going for over $750/sqft and nice places in marginal neighborhoods going for over $1000/sqft. I don't even want to look at the prices in nice area. This house in South LA sold 3 days ago for $1008/sqft. It is 3 doors away from a homeless encampment with plywood shacks and a problematic pot shop that has had multiple stabbings over the last few months, and there's currently a random mentally ill naked guy that keeps popping up right there too. Having interacted with the CA State Bar, I'm not shocked, but I will be shook if we actually see meaningful reforms.
  18. I don't want it to be true, but probably when Henry tragically dies.
  19. So they are smarter than Tre and Juicy, doesn't make it right.
  20. It could be argued that Erika and Tom are now probably committing bankruptcy fraud on top of all the embezzling to keep their ill-gotten money and goods and far from being victimless, it is revictimizing those they've already wronged.
  21. I believe he's LAPD, not LASD. LAPD has problems, but it is nothing like LASD. Most of the officer involved shootings and really egregious things that happen in the LA metro area are LASD. However, it does appear that Erika's son was involved in an officer involved shooting a few years back and there are some public records requests involving him, but I don't have time to dig. A lot of people mix up LAPD and LASD -- it really drives me nuts when people are protesting LAPD and all the facts they are spouting are LASD. It's like you do all the research and bring receipts, make sure they are for the right org. I'm currently fighting with LAPD regarding policy and will be digging into all kinds of back info and pulling data for that, maybe I can dig into Tommy while I'm at it.
  22. I'm months late on this, but don't keep up to date on all things Scheana. Anyway, how absolutely Scheana is this dress?
  23. Reddit says this is Annie and Mau https://www.inquirer.com/food/milk-honey-market-west-philadelphia-closed-workers-health-coronavirus-20200601.html
  24. Even knowing this switched to Wednesday I was confused and thought it was on tonight. There's an 85% chance I'll forget about watching it between now and Wed.
  25. I forgot I watch this show again and was reminded by the joyous news of no more Lizzie. I'm only to the first commercial of this episode and have rolled my eyes and told Liz to fuck off once and now I'm laughing hysterically at the stupid cell in the Post Office being the safest place to keep Liz. How many times has that thing been breached? The Post Office is about as secure as a firewall set up by my mom. Actually, the Post Office might not be the problem, it's put at a major disadvantage by the idiots working there. And we don't even get to the next commercial before there's a breach. Surprise, surprise. I do like that they didn't fuck around with trying to open the cell and just lifted the whole thing out the roof. I'd like to think this is Red, it has a certain panache. I'm sure no one is shocked that Aram broke and helped Liz make a call. I am surprised that she didn't appear to be playing him and it didn't bite him in the ass, but there's still plenty of show left. "Extracting Keen from the Post Office took planning, skill, and precision." Sure, you run the least secret, most breached, black site in the world, but keep telling yourself that Harold. I've been to "underground" sushi joints that are harder to find and get into than the Post Office. Of course Liz is fucking with Red's plans. I'd like to assume that at least Dembe, if not Red, planned on Liz fucking shit up and they actually wanted it to go down that way to lull Godwin into a false sense of security. Put in 2 trackers, let Liz hear about 1, so the other is still there when Liz inevitably helps Godwin remove the decoy. So the task force is finally being disbanded, but not because of incompetence. I am guessing it won't actually happen. Red needs to up his game if he really didn't count on Lizzie fucking up his plans. Not that it mattered in the end.
