  1. Ah okay, I thought I was leaving something out, thanks for the correction. And agreed, she is definitely iconic in the media business, and is hopefully living out her golden years peacefully.
  2. Agree with this, I don’t think she’s had anything “done,” and if she has, it’s incredibly subtle. Her appearance hasn’t changed a whole lot over the years, and if you see candid or HD photos of her, you can see some fine lines here and there. She’s always been very open about her rigorous albeit expensive beauty regimen (I remember years ago she said she used some $400 face cream all over her body 😳) and fitness routine, doesn’t drink or smoke, etc. I wish more people in that industry would realize that it is possible to grow old gracefully and you don’t have to look like a wax doll to be beautiful. I’m looking at you, Leah. Love you forever, but she destroyed her natural beauty with all that extraness. I’ve been curious about BW for a while now, especially with the direction the show has gone in the past few years. She’s in her late 80s/90s right? I wonder if she’s dipped out Estelle Getty style aka battling some sort of health issue in private and staying out of the public eye. She has created quite a legacy and yes, the View is a big part of that. It’s the longest running talk show on TV at the moment. Someone who values her legacy should step into the role of not letting this nonsense sully it in any way.
  3. So much this! I too did not want to express my thoughts about her grieving because I know how hard it is to lose a parent (my mother died when I was 18 years old) but I truly think Meghan thrives off of being so public about her grief and wallows off of the attention. Any time anyone waxes poetic about her father on the show you can physically see her puff up like a peacock with its tail on full display. Her entire identity is wrapped up in her father and she has tried to build her fame off of that since he was in the spotlight. My best friend very recently lost her father after a long illness. While her and her family weren't as prepared as Meghan's family for his death, because they knew it was coming, they started the grieving process before he passed away. They started preparing for his memorial service, negotiating how his business was going to be handled after he passed, what to do with his possessions, etc. And she doesn't have close to what Meghan has in terms of money and resources, and not even close to as much time as she had with her father. When my best friend's father died, I watched her cry, plan the funeral, wrap up her affairs, and keep it moving. This is not to say she doesn't miss him or cry over him, but life has to go on, and she's not a raging bitch to everyone around her because she's grieving. And the thing is that's how you know that Meghan now is what Meghan has always been, before her dad getting sick and before he passed away. Whether she moves back to Arizona or to a ranch in Montana with her douchy husband with their guns and dogs, she needs to resign from this show and find something else to do with her time. She literally will never have to worry about money for the rest of her life, so she doesn't have to work. Maybe start a foundation in her father's name for cancer research or , or write a book, or basically NOT BE ON THIS SHOW. Tinkerbell, lots of positive vibes to you and your family in dealing with everything with your Dad <3
  4. I worked at a company where the environment was like this, except the toxic person was the owner/ceo. The whole day was contingent upon his mood, and when he was in a bad one, he was in a BAD one, and all of us as employees felt the wrath. It was awful. And yet, I ALMOST get why we had to deal, because he was the one who signed our checks. For the life of me, I don’t understand why they keep Meghan on. What’s the benefit? She is nasty to everyone, and makes everyone uncomfortable, she has no extra pull in terms of getting guests on...I just don’t get it. The ratings can’t possibly be that much better since she’s been on, and now that both Abby and Ana are there on a regular basis, she is completely unnecessary. There are not one but two conservative Republicans on the panel, and both of them are capable of having a conversation and disagree without their head exploding from rage and sitting there pouting when they don’t get their way. I don’t want Joy to leave either but I honestly wouldn’t blame her if she did. She’s almost 80 and has had a lucrative entertainment career...why should she have to put up with that bratty bitch? Let the Trumpsters bask in their “victory” is she does decide to say “fork this shirt” (tm: The Good Place) and walk. Her health and peace of mind is more important than The View. I think I’m done with this show too...I’ve been watching since 2001 and vibe has never been this bad. There were disagreements but the tension now is palpable through the TV, it must be worse in person. It’s not what it was and it’s uncomfortable to watch. I’ll keep coming here to see if anything of substance happens or if one of my fave celebrities are on, or simply because all of your comments are awesome 😎
  5. Is anyone else hoping that’s Fred Armisen will make an appearance at Joy’s tribute tomorrow dressed as her and doing the impression 😁?
  6. I actually wouldn’t mind meeting this Meghan, she seem more loose and fun. Not the pussy bow around the neck, squeezed into her skirt, angry, tight faced harpy we see every day. I don’t know if she feels she HAS to be “into politics” because of her father, but she is clearly miserable on this show and has been for awhile now, and is not doing a great job of hiding it. If you have to cry between breaks it’s probably not a good fit. If she insists on a TV career, she should be on a fluffy pop culture show talking about current stars, reality tv, etc. I’m sure she’d have no problem researching those topics and no blue cards authored by her husband would be necessary. Oh, and it should be in her contract that she can never utter the words “Republican,” “Conservative,” “Trump’s Base,” or “my father” while on the air 😁
  7. I didn’t understand her argument at all (not that she’s ever coherent with her arguments anyway). Sunny is right...climate change is not a left or right issue. Unless the right has shelves of bottled clean air stacked away somewhere, we are ALL affected by it. People like Meghan cannot see past the end of their noses. And she’s so friggin rude. Screaming at the audience to stop clapping so she could talk? Really? So she’s rude to the staff, her coworkers, the guests, AND the audience and she still has a job? I guess she’s going to have to say something REALLY stupid a la Roseanne style to finally get kicked off. With all of her temper tantrums, it’s coming.
  8. I always say that people who list Bonnie and Clyde, Romeo and Juliet, and the Joker and Harley Quinn as #relationshipgoals know nothing about any of them. All of them are dysfunctional as hell (and that’s putting it mildly), and ridiculously romanticized. ...maybe it IS an accurate reference for Mr & Mrs Domenech 🤔
  9. I thought it was funny too honestly 😂 you could literally see it her train of thought come to a halt. I’m sure she brought it up to contribute something meaningful to the convo and then realized, oh crap, I have to spend the holidays with my in-laws, let me not talk about their dead racist mother. Not that I excuse it, but I almost accept it from “that” generation and don’t expect them to really change their ideals at that age (doesn’t mean I have to interact with them). What makes me sad/angry/frustrated is people my age(late 30s) with even the most basic education and hopefully KNOW better that hold these ideals. That being said, I can not believe (lie: I can) that RBM would try to use her “whataboutism” BS to almost defend that awful woman running in Mississippi. Taking and then returning campaign money is NOTHING compared to bragging about wanting attend a public lynching, attending a segregated school, etc. And NO Meghan, you do not have to vote for her because she’s Republican. I don’t know how much more clear she can be about her being party over country. I don’t want to speculate, but I’m pretty sure someone will have to stuff a sock in Meghan’s mouth to keep her bitchiness at a minimum on Thursday while they’re honoring Joy. My jaw literally dropped when she said that shit about Joy’s career not being as relevant as Whoopi’s because she’s not an EGOT. Both women are self-made and not the typical “Hollywood” cookie cutter types and deserve the accolades. And NEITHER of them have poorly attempted to build a nonexistent career off their relative’s back. Just saying.
  10. He served his purpose, she doesn’t need him anymore *shrug* I feel bad for what happened to Gypsy but I don’t really see her as a victim in this. She learned how to be a master manipulator from her mother and when she gets out of jail she’ll still be young enough to learn how to be independent and enjoy an independent life. I’m really curious to see what her next chapter is going to be.
  11. wonderwuman73, you truly are a Wonder Woman, what an awesome behind the scenes recap! If Megs has temper tantrums like this every week (or every day!) I can’t imagine why TPTB would want to keep her on. She’s difficult to work with, rude to the guests (political or not) and it sounds like she makes the staff uncomfortable too. Her only gateway into the “world of politics” is dead, and she has absolutely no other redeeming qualities or connections, at least none that the show could get themselves. They clearly aren’t listening to us otherwise she would have been ousted ages ago. The only way I think she’ll be fired now is if she is flat out evil to one of the cohosts (either Whoopi or Joy, the two that seem to hold the most clout) or she says something so stupid that it causes advertisers to pull out. Money talks. And I don’t want her to quit, and walk away with any power...she needs to be FIRED.
  12. ZOMGZ I can't wait for the tea to be spilled! Maybe that's why Megs is always furiously sipping from her cup...trying to mask those angry tears until the commercial break! Completely vain side note...Sunny's eyebrows are looking less caterpillar-ish...I think she had microblading done. The ink makes your eyebrows look dark and swollen for a few days before they lighten up, then you never have to fill them in again for ages...pretty awesome :-)
  13. Agreed, she does look super cute and comfortable. She usually looks like a stuffed sausage wrapped in a casing made of Grandma’s curtains on the panel and despite what she says, she looks uncomfortable. The first time I saw a picture of Meghan was the pic she posted on Twitter holding her Dad’s book with her tits hiked up to her chin (this was years ago, not recently). The Conservatives lost their collective minds at the time because how dare a women show her breasts, so I really think whoever dresses her tries to put forward this “Conservative Barbie/perfect Republican wife” look to get her away from that image. But it makes her look like a linebacker. She would look so much better in soft and tailored looks, with maybe a bit of an edge. As for her on the show today, I didn’t scream “Shut UP, you witch!” at all today, so...progress?
  14. When they were talking about Idris Elba being named “Sexiest Man Alive” by People (sidebar: thanks for getting it RIGHT this year, People!), I half-expected NutMeg to start rambling, “Well I don’t care because he’s British and we don’t need to talk about him because in 1776 there was a war and we seceded blah blah blah RED WAVE!” All while clicking her American Flag heels together.
  15. Hell will freeze over before Joy ever goes to dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Domenech. That quick story Abby glossed over about how he reacted to her husband voting for Hilary is very telling...I would bet he’s not the most pleasant person. And although I don’t want take ALL of credit from Meghan, at least a tiny bit of her hateful rhetoric comes from him, because a lot of what she says on the show mirrors what he says on that Godawful website of his. At the very least he tells her, “give those lefties hell, baby!” every morning before she leaves for work. They’ll try to tag team and bait Joy until she loses her shit and her Brooklyn comes out, and then they’ll have fodder for far right to feast on (Joy Behar GOES NUTS on Meghan McCain and Husband During a Secretly Recorded Dinner!). Yeah, Joy is too smart for that. Absolutely, and would TOTALLY explain her nasty attitude on air on Monday. Her and Ana have bumped heads several times during Ana’s guest spots, and Ana doesn’t coddle her spoiled ass. Now Ana will be there EVERY Friday, and Whoopi is not there to “protect” her. The ensuing battles are going to be epic, and Meghan can’t use the “Im the only conservative on this panel, none of you UNDERSTAND!” excuse any more.
  16. As much as I hate to agree, it’s true. She’s got great skin, high cheekbones, her eyes are a gorgeous shade of blue and her features stand out when she wears her hair in more casual styles. Not everyone is meant to be a size 2, and when dresses in nicely tailored clothes she looks quite nice, and for those few fleeting seconds when she’s not speaking, or on the rare occasion smiling, you really notice how pretty she is. She’s proof that an ugly personality can completely make you look past any physical beauty.
  17. She was fighting like hell to get a sound byte of her saying “Yes, I want to take ALL of them away! ALL OF THEM!” So she could circle back to it later. Stacey Abrams smartly didn’t take that obvious bait. Meghan is so transparent.
  18. This is what I don’t understand about Wendy...why bother signing on to another season if you don’t want to do it? She’s been in the business a long time and despite her most recent controversies, has built quite a legacy in both radio and television. Her behavior is chipping away at everything she’s worked for. Just bow out gracefully, retire and enjoy the life that you’ve built. Divorce that loser husband, pay him some “go away” money and sign over the house in Morristown so him and his mistress can rot in it. Sell the house in Livingston and buy your fantasy apartment in NYC with a craft room and a room for Little Kev(because you know he’s not gonna stay in college) and live comfortably off of your HSN line, your production company, and whatever other sources of income you have. Take an older lover that actually values you, travel, and enjoy your life. And if you ever feel the need to be in front of the camera or behind the mic, do a podcast. You’ve poopooed on podcasts before, but the reality is that TV talk shows are slowly becoming obsolete, and people like listening on the go on their own time. You’ve outgrown your pop culture audience and have said many MANY times on air that you don’t care about most hot topics. Go out while you’re relatively still on top. I say this as a long time Wendy watcher/listener for decades. I used to live for her shows and now I haven’t watched in months. I pop in here on occasion and sad to see she’s gotten worse. She’s a shell of the powerhouse she was and as vitriolic she’s become, there’s a part of me that still wants her to win.
  19. I can’t stop laughing at this...someone send this post over to the artist at Gallery of the Absurd and make this interpretation of Megzilla happen ?
  20. So much YES to both of these! Articulate and forward with her views while still being objective and open to other’s views, and not screeching like a howler monkey. If they can’t get Ana to replace Meghan (which they probably won’t, I’m sure she doesn’t want to move from Miami), then they should hire her instead.
  21. I have to say how much I love this forum, because it’s good to know that I’m not the only one who is screaming at RBM during one of her ignorant diatribes. When Meghan snapped at Whoopi, “I know how poor people feel, I’ve talked to them!” I wish Whoopi would have shouted, “I’ve LIVED it, Meghan!” Whoopi also grew up pre-Roe vs Wade so she’s seen and maybe even known women who have died or had serious complications from a back alley illegal abortion. Age doesn’t always mean wisdom, but dammit, give some credence to the older women (Whoopi and Joy) who lived through civil and women’s rights of yesteryear. Same to the woman who has extensive knowledge of the law because she’s a lawyer with an extensive legal career (Sunny). I always feel like Meghan is one second away from slapping her hands over her ears and screaming “Lalala can’t hear you!” when the other women are talking. But because I am too empathetic for my own good, there’s a tiny part of me that feels a bit sorry for her. I had no idea that her FIL was part of the Trump administration, and we know her husband runs that gawdawful Federalist site, so the compassionate part of me says the reason why she pushes these republican talking points so hard is because she has to live and breathe that other part of life the other 23 hours of the day. Her husband and FIL don’t have a platform as big as she does aka a syndicated talk show, so they probably push her to say this and that and double down on the ridiculousness she spouts every day. Kind of like the “reluctant” wife who sides with her asshole husband because she has to go home with him.
  22. This happened about 15 minutes from where I grew up and it was huge news. I’ve firmly believed that Diane intentionally killed herself and those kids. The alcohol and weed she consumed (no matter how much her husband and SIL tried to deny that) gave her liquid courage to do what she needed to do. Why she chose that day and that time will always be a mystery, unless by some miracle Bryan remembers what happened and decides to share it with the world. But I truly believe she intended to take her life that day. Neither Danny nor Jay are sympathetic characters, at all. It’s very clear that Danny was fuming underneath a not so calm surface with Diane by having the audacity to die and leave behind all of these adult responsibilities and a child to raise by himself. And I lost all respect for him when I found out he had the balls to sue Diane’s brother because he was the one who owned the van(so it was the VAN that made Diane drive two miles in the wrong direction on a busy parkway, Danny?). You have to be a pretty big asshole to sue someone who lost both of his daughters and his sister. Why Jay was so invested I don’t know...I want to say it’s because she loved Bryan and wanted to make sure he was taken care of, but for some reason I don’t feel that’s the only reason. I do believe the reason why they pushed this “it’s everyone’s fault but Diane’s” narrative is for life insurance purposes. A lot of the policies will not pay out if the holder commits suicide, and Jay mentioned that Diane was the breadwinner. Long Island is a very expensive place to live, so they were going to go to their graves saying that it was an accident in order to get that money. I do wonder where things stand now, almost 10 years later. I googled and nothing new has come up. It’s just sad all around, and I hope that Bryan, Diane’s brother and SIL, and the families of the men in the other SUV have some peace in their lives.
  23. They have the original series on Amazon Prime, and watching it made all sorts of childhood memories come back. I used to watch it in my parents room when they worked late, the only room in the house that had cable. I would watch it in the dark (stupid me) and being terrified to leave the room in fear that the killer was just outside the door and he had murdered my entire family. I also learned what strychnine was thanks to this show, and the theme song still gives me knots in my stomach ?
  24. This came up as a “suggestion” on TV queue...I heard about it, but couldn’t imagine how much more O.J. could say about the murders other than deny, deny, deny...I really didn’t imagine how much closer he could get to a confession outside of flat out saying “I did it.” His entire attitude toward Nicole was textbook classic abuser behavior. Too attentive to their kids and not enough to him, dressing too provactively, she was “combative” so clearly she had it coming, etc. That description of the details of the murders, him constantly slipping out of the “hypothetical” position, it gave me chills. I was 14 when the whole trial happened, so I didn’t feel any type of way about it, but now rewatching all of the coverage about it again...I understand WHY he was found not guilty, but is clearly guilty and has absolutely no remorse about it. Without veering too far off topic, I watched the Made in America doc about him when it was on Hulu, and I just have so many questions. His football career was before my time, and I just barely remember him from the Naked Gun movies. I had no idea he was such a big celebrity, and I wonder how someone who built such a great life for himself and someone who was so focused and driven would do something so awful and throw it all away. At what point did he veer off course? I also wonder where he would be if he hadn’t done it and the trial of the century didn’t happen. What kind of life would he have now? The whole thing is just sad.
