  1. That's the show I want to see sometime. Apparently the humor is pretty R-rated during those elimination dress rehearsals.
  2. Tom did say at the end that either Bindi or Nick had the lowest combined score, right before he said everyone was safe.
  3. Honestly I've never been a fan of Carlos. To me he gives off a controlling man vibe. Saying that, I don't have a problem with people being what seems to be overly emotional on the show at times. I think he was honestly upset for Alexa which actually surprised me a bit. At least his eyes were wet, unlike a lot of fake criers. I think when people have been in the DWTS bubble for many weeks, are exhausted and are being judged in front of millions of people it's not surprising if they get emotional. I know people often comment that some celebrities take the show too seriously, that it's just a silly reality show, they weren't diagnosed with a terminal illness, etc., but it is their career and they are putting themselves out there to be judged and most times manipulated by TPTB. I'm sure they all go through a lot of sh*t from the producers and become frustrated with all of that as well. I doubt I'd do as well as most of them do under all the pressures and a few raw emotions showing through don't bother me. I actually agreed with Carlos when he told Alexa to give them what they want. We know the show was salivating over putting the married couple in jeopardy. It must be so frustrating to the pairs when they work so hard and all the show seems to want is behind the scenes drama.
  4. Right now I think the highlight of the season for me might be the fact that "another board" had the entire cast AND Derek's return leaked to them yesterday and they deleted all if it because they thought the poster was arrogant, took over their board and wouldn't reveal his source. As for the pairings, I've come to the conclusion unless someone is A-list, 90% of the population won't have a clue who someone is. There are just too many entertainment choices out there anymore for very many celebrities to be commonly known. I'm willing to give them all a chance to impress me, but I will admit the combination of stars I don't know and a lot of pros I'm not very familiar with makes me less interested in the season. I think the long-term returning pros provided something I'm missing now. As for Derek, I really like him but I think he's been a lot less creative the last couple of seasons. I think he needed to recharge; not wear himself out even more doing two things at once.
  5. They sure made it sound that way on the show, but I believe on GMA before the season started, they said 4-5 weeks. Apparently Lacey on the live feed this week said Len would be back before the season is over, so I don't expect him back anytime soon. We know we have Pit Bull next week and I bet we have at least one more week after that of a guest judge. I still wonder how much of this is Len's idea because he's sick of the travel and how much of it is the show encouraging him to lessen his role on the show so they can bring in demo friendly guest judges and emphasize something other than ballroom to make the show appeal to a younger demo. (Which isn't working at all.)
  6. I know they combine last week's scores and votes and this week's scores and votes to do an elimination next week. Last year they did a double elimination really early and this year they didn't, so that may change how many get eliminated next week. IDK if they have made an official announcement.
  7. My issue is the show and/or her family is not allowing her to participate on the show as an individual. It is hard to objectively judge her as an individual on her own merits as a dancer when so much emphasis is being placed on the family. I know stars come with baggage, good or bad, but it is usually of their own making. My guess is the family is happy to get publicity for their own show by showing up in full costume in the audience, packages, and even getting on stage. DWTS is happy if Duck viewers tune in and help DWTS's ratings. The problem is we are asked to judge Sadie and not hold her family against her, while her family and the show seem more than happy to exploit her connection to the rest of the family.
  8. They sure kept the "Raise the Paddle", that I posted about earlier, quiet last week. They didn't even mention it on air or give us any results, but as I feared that was probably just a test run. If the FAQs for this coming week are accurate, "Raise the Paddle" will count this week as part of the judges' scores. Maybe it won't happen or will only count for 1%, although it sure sounds like it will be 1/4 or 1/5 of the judges' score. I'm not sure if Len is back. 9. How does the ‘You Raise The Paddle’ scoring app work? This season on Dancing With The Stars we are giving you the opportunity to be the judge and score each couple alongside the judges during the East/Central broadcast of the show. Visit http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars/you-raise-the-paddle at 8et|7c to score the couples’ performances as they are showcased during the show. Your score will count towards the Judges’ overall score. You must be logged in to your Facebook account to score. You may score each couple only once. The scoring windows for each couple will open at the start of their performance and remain open for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, so stay tuned and keep your ‘You Raise The Paddle’ page open. The page will update automatically when it’s time to score each couple. During the scoring window for each couple, you will see boxes numbered 1 to 10. To score the couple, select a number (10 being the highest, 1 being the lowest) and select the Submit button. You will then see a page thanking you for your score with the option to share the fact you scored on Facebook or Twitter. You do not have to share your score for it to register. ‘You Raise The Paddle’ scoring will not be open outside of the East/Central broadcast, so if you are viewing the page outside of the 8-10p ET/7-9p CT times you will not be able to play along. 10. How will the scoring work? During each scoring window, select a score (10 being the highest, 1 being the lowest) and submit it. At the end of the scoring window for each couple we will calculate an average score, taken from all the audience scores. That score will then be combined with the scores from the other Judges during the 10.6.14 episode.
  9. I've wondered if the show, going after a younger demo, wants to take the emphasis off of the ballroom/Latin style and it's requirements and place more emphasis on production values and just dancing. I think the show believes the younger demo is turned off by "stodgy" formal dancing filled with rules, so they are putting less and less emphasis on the actual style. Therefore we don't need someone announcing whether we are going to see a fox trot or waltz. It doesn't really matter even if we are left guessing when the pro bends the rules.
  10. The new thing the show is starting tonight. It is just for fun this week, but I assume will be for real next week, if it works. From the DWTS FAQs: 7. 11. I wonder how they are going to do an elimination on Monday, since they have already done the elimination which would normally happen at the end of Monday's show. I've seen some people are beginning to worry it will be a twitter vote.
  12. Personally I think the show just wanted Julianne back on the show and didn't know where else to put her. I imagine they've been asking her back all along, since she was a popular pro and is a bit of a name outside of the show. Up until now she's had music, movies or dating Ryan Seacrest and either didn't have the time or the interest to return. I'm sure her handlers told her it would be a step back if she was trying to be a movie star. Now she's either decided she wants to return to her roots (more Move tours) or most of her other options have dried up. My guess is the show really wanted her as a pro but she probably nixed that idea. I've heard lots of reports that her dancing was a lot weaker than a lot of the dancers on the Move tour. That's not surprising considering the long break she took. I also doubt she wanted to return as a pro because it would look like her other careers had totally flopped and she was back to where we started. They couldn't give her Erin's job. Can you imagine how bad she would be at that? So the only thing they could come up with is add a judge. It's a promotion for Julianne and if she says condescending things in the name of honesty, it's publicity for the show. While all the judges have said nasty things, it's going to come off as more mean spirited when a former co-worker says them.
