  1. I can’t believe the lessons the producers took away from the last couple of seasons is to amp up the tension with fewer payoffs. Come on, show, do something!
  2. What’s intriguing me about this show so far is that none of the characters are likable enough for me to root for. I’m going to thoroughly enjoy watching whatever chaos ensues.
  3. I was watching it, and my cat showed up to take a nap on my lap. I’m guessing her con is a long one.
  4. One thing that didn’t ring true to me was Howard’s widow letting Kim into her house. If they were to meet at all, it’d be someplace public, and with witnesses.
  5. As someone who was worried about how directionless and lackluster Phase 4 has been, I was glad to see yesterday’s presentation. It put some of my fears to rest.
  6. What happened to the London team? And if 100 Shlorpians and their copies were sent out, wouldn’t that mean there were 50 ships?
  7. Phase one built towards the Avengers. There was a direction that was clear. EVERY phase has had a clear direction. Not this one.
  8. -I loved the coda of the Christmas Day concert, but it was one of those things that a non-fan would be thrown by (like my partner who is not a Pistols fan). A little more set up might have been useful for those viewers. -Sid sounding like Lennie from Of Mice And Men was a little on the nose, but appropriate. -One more thing that might have been useful: mentioning that the surviving Pistols sued the shit out of Malcolm on more than one occasion, and won.
  9. I enjoyed it, but I don’t know if it’s because it was good, or because the last few MCU offerings have been so “Meh.” I still don’t know what this phase is supposed to be building towards.
  10. I’d be interested in knowing the audiobook numbers. Considering that even Trump supporters find her voice grating, I can’t see how something read BY her would do much better.
  11. I haven’t watched in a few weeks, but I checked this episode out. Garbage. Bill still had no idea how to talk to KAC, so it why bother. HBO, put this waste of your money out to pasture.
  12. The performances are phenomenal, and it looks great, but the way it was all put together isn’t as good. There’s an unresolved clash of tones that don’t compliment each other. For example, the show is ostensibly about Martha Mitchell, but two thirds of the show has nothing to do with her. What would have worked better? Editing all the main stories into stand alone pieces, and releasing them as “Watergate Stories” or something.
  13. Somebody fought for that effects shot of a rat screaming in horror, and I want to thank them for doing so.
  14. I liked it. The comparisons to Star Wars are blatant (and probably on purpose), but it did not hinder my enjoyment of it. I’m definitely glad I saw it on the biggest screen I could find.
  15. I didn’t realize how much I missed Julia Roberts until I saw this show.
  16. “What’s the word? Watergate is the word, and you heard it from Perd.”
  17. I accidentally got spoiled on the Borg requesting admission to the Federation, so I had to get my thrills from watching my wife get angry about it. You know, I enjoyed seeing all my favorite characters again (except Q; never liked Q), but this show didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. 56 years of established timelines? Fuck it! Just revise everything.
  18. I just saw the movie, and I would like to repeat something I said in the thread for the finale of WandaVision: Agatha Harkness did nothing wrong.
  19. If you’re interested in watching the Macron vs. Le Pen debate in English (because MJ is talking about it this morning), here’s a link:
  20. What JO did was funny, but didn’t really seem that sensational for these two reasons: 1) Five-miles is too big of a range. Go ask people in Arlington, VA if they’re in the “Capitol Hill area,” and you’ll get laughed at. 2) That first map was not of the Embassy Row area, but Glover Park. It’s kinda near Embassy Row, but it’s an entirely different neighborhood. Also, that click came from a cemetery.
  21. I think it’s adorable that Bill still thinks his opinions are relevant or constructive.
  22. Did someone slap Bill around until he listened to reason during the week? This was actually a good episode with quality discussions. I’m not going to get into Bill’s comedy bits, because those have been consistently awful for 20 years. Him not being funny is a constant I’ve learned to live with (and fast forward through.)
  23. I’ve never played Halo…ever. Is the game as boring as this show?
  24. So they’re in 2024? Why does it look like our time, and not a post-Eugenics Wars world? Did the producers retcon the Eugenics Wars? I know the world would have moved on from events in the 90s, but I’d expect a far different 2020s than what is shown here.
