  1. Much better than CS, but it could have been tightened up in the editing.

I will admit that I got worried for a little while when I thought the twist was going to be Indy having to save Hitler, but was relieved to find out that it was just an old man finally getting a chance to use his dead language skills.

A little eye candy for us sighted folk? Most of it was suitably drab so I suppose they wanted to throw in a bit of colour for us. Agree they were gorgeous

I just never appreciated how this show wanted it both ways.

”Why is everything so drab & colorless?”

”Because everyone is blind. It doesn’t need to look good, it needs to work.”

”Then what’s up with all the intricate jewelry, and clothes?”

”Don’t overthink it.  It’s there for us.”

  3. I’m not saying that I’m on Rick’s side, but I’d really hate it (and consider restraining orders) if an ex went out of her way to insinuate herself into my life under the guise of “Worrying about me.”
People, here are the general guidelines for contacting an ex under normal circumstances:

    1) Don’t.

    2) If you absolutely have to, only attempt contact once.  EVER.

    3) See 1.

  4. I want to know how those turtle people put on their shirts.

My best guess is that the shells have to be removable, but that baby also had a shell, so maybe those shirts are just aprons.

I’m also a little disappointed by this other galaxy not looking too alien to the existing SW galaxy, but I’ll accept it.  Even if I don’t buy the witches speaking Galactic Basic.

I didn't know "come at me, bro" was a legitimate usage of the Force.

Obi-Wan and Yoda were all about “Come at me bro.”

if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for Ashoka.

  6. I couldn’t help but notice that Chris Christie didn’t say what those “BIG THINGS” he wanted to do were (aside from the usual babble about entitlements).

I also couldn’t help but notice that no one pressed Chris more on that.

  7. I keep think about that Nick Cage cameo, and wondering what was stopping them from just having him be in it instead of Supergirl?

Don’t get me wrong, Sasha Calle was great, but I would have loved to have seen Nick Cage & Michael Keaton chewing the scenery together.

Also: who thought it was a good idea to redo a storyline that the tv show did better?

  8. Much like the Sopranos & Breaking Bad (but nowhere in the same league), this show makes me feel sympathy for absolutely horrible people.

What I liked about this episode is that it took a moment to remind viewers that the showrunners are fully aware of how terrible they are.

What this makes me want to know is: are viewers supposed to root for this family to successfully defend their bubble against reality, or hope that it gets popped and they can weather life outside of it?

I think it’s the former (because Gideon is obviously going to save the family business), but I’d love to see the latter.

  9. Why couldn’t the timecops have provided La’an with some counseling services?  Do they not have those in the future?

I’m also having a legit hard time with Kirk not look anything like Kirk.  I like the actor a lot, but there’s nothing about his presence that immediately signals to the audience who tf it is.

  10. Did I enjoy the movie?

    Yes.

Was it better than Black Adam?

    Yes.

Could I watch it without thinking about how much I dislike Ezra Miller as a person?

    No.

Everything I liked about this movie was too little, too late, and put a spotlight on DC’s cinematic failures.

I just finished the series, but haven't read the book.  And this was my first peek at this thread, as I didn't want to be spoiled.  I'm intrigued by the 1,500 years historical perspective.  So you're saying that the book is set 1,500 years in the future, and this is someone's historical look back on how it all started?

Quick question for the book readers:  Where does the end of Season 1 hit in the book?  Are we at the end of the book, or is there more book material if there is a Season 2?

The future in the book is more like 5000 years from now, but I don’t want to give anything else away.  What I will say is that we got maybe 1/3 of the way through the events of the book (with some liberties taken).

If you have time, I suggest you do read it or listen to the audio version (that I’ve been told is really well done).

The book also implies that the boyfriend was intersex, it just doesn't give him a label. Much the same way that Jo doesn't call herself pansexual but that's also implied.

To you it was implied, from my reading it was merely a possibility.
