  1. Just watched the series finale. I wish instead of the filler episodes we'd gotten the storylines that were introduced in this episode at the start of the season. Would have made the season a lot better over all and maybe kept some viewers around. Oh well.
  2. Honestly I'm surprised the show got a season 2; unlike Shameless the main character is really hard to root for. I just watched the episode airing today and she's so cringey I can't even.
  3. Bridgette's just the worst. Obviously you need your social security number when filling out forms, it wasn't funny or cute just cringy. And I'm sure there's a leaflet or something saying what you can buy on food stamps, if you lack the common sense to realize it. Like I get this is a show where the characters aren't going to succeed but they don't need to make Bridgette a total loser?
  4. I really could have done without the Luther/Allison stuff; why couldn't they just have been close. Why go the incest route? They were almost literally raised together from birth. Just ew.
  5. I hope they have a twist of the parents dying trying to come back to the USA after being deported. Dead parents were a key part of the original and simply deported isn't the same, especially in this day and age where communication is so easy.
  6. Soooo by making it really really really clear Hayley is terrible at math, are they trying to set up that her ex is actually the biological father and Hayley won't figure it out for a few seasons until little toddler Dilly is clearly smarter then their parents? Or it'll be a fake out and Dylan actually is the father despite Dilly being smart. Ugh.
  7. I mentioned it before in one of the episode discussions for the reboot, but instead of pretending Jackie's son didn't exist, I'm going to pretend that he died young -like, didn't reach teenage years young with Fred in a car accident or something, and it's too painful for Jackie to talk about and the family has gotten used, after like 30 years, of not talking about him. So that's why he's not mentioned and Jackie cracks jokes about Aunt being her only title and stuff. I just remembered that Jerry was mentioned in the reboot -why didn't we see him? Like no one's even mentioned him coming back for the funeral or skyping in or nothing? They couldn't do a line or two? Not even Darlene saying she owes Jerry $5 for a bet they made about Becky getting knocked up, that's 20 years too late or something?
  8. I agree with this. They really did not come off well, and I cringed when they were like, "We'll all raise the baby together!" Like no. It came off as insincere and really like they were taking advantage of their friendship with Becky and her worries.
  9. I really really hate what they're doing with Becky's baby already; first the lesbian couple up and deciding they want to adopt it despite Becky giving no indication that she was going that route to them. Very predatory and a weird choice. Second, I hate the "I'm going to raise this baby on my own!" crap. You want a baby on your own, you go to a sperm donor. The busboy has rights once the baby is born, and deserves to be in his child's life. Plus Becky will for sure need his help. They really seem to be ignore the realities of having a baby; Becky should have been ready to go to AA and enroll in community college, as well as asking about moving in with Dan to save money instead it was jokes and happiness. I hope this is the catalyst for Becky to turn her life around, get real help and grow up. Instead it'll probably be some sort of comedic "Becky can't handle having a baby and gives it to the lesbian couple!" thing.
  10. Series finale was tonight. It was okay -ended how you'd expect, on a cliffhanger with loose plot threads that will never be tied up. It really really felt like it was filmed before the second half of the season (wait, was the second half filmed separately, or did they seriously do all that on purpose?) I think we could have just skipped all the other episodes in the second half and just showed this last episode, and nothing storywise would have been lost.
  11. Even if that did happen, pretty sure all Zlata would have do was say, "This property was put in your name, please transfer it to me," and Desna would have done it. Desna literally saw the woman shoot her own sister in the face, and Zlata's really been pushing the "girl power" and "we're friends, but I'm the boss!" thing on Desna. All three things were a good enough reason for Desna to sign anything over Zlata wants on their own, let alone combined.
  12. Yeah -I was kinda annoyed with Marnie because I felt like she was being an ungrateful jerk to Polly the last few episodes, but then I realized she's been putting up with Polly's weird fake crap for months now, and likely utterly sick of it. She's clearly unwilling to play along any more and because Marnie's a teenager who doesn't really know how to say, "Thank you for what you did, and do for me, but you aren't my mother and are a pathological lair so chill out and don't cross my boundaries" instead she's surly and rude and doing things Polly doesn't care for. As a side note, I had no idea Dean's actor is 54. Damn, he looks freaking amazing.
  13. You can substitute oil for butter, and milk alternatives -like almond milk, for milk. Might not be as tasty/rich as using milk/better -still 1000 times better then raisin balls. They're kinda lazy as a group, and without much common sense so I guess they figure raisin balls are easier.
  14. God I wanted to strangle Tandy and Carol this episode. I wish when he started singing the song they didn't ask him to sing, Erica or Gail made him stop and sing the song they wanted instead of letting him get away with his ~wacky~ antic. And god, Carol -Erica should have pointed out that despite the fact that Carol badgered and guilted Gail into being her "mom" Erica's known her longer, and if Carol needed help with her babies then she should make Tandy help instead of letting him do stupid pointless crap instead.
  15. I think it would help a lot if they were at the island all summer instead of just on the weekends. I don't think I would have bothered tuning in if I had realized they'd only be there on the weekends, and thus have plenty of time to defuse the drama and junk. I'm getting kinda bored with the samey samey boring drama.
