  1. I like the title - finally, we have a name for the series and way more importantly, we have a timeline to reference--the lead-up to, then the forging of, then the aftermath of the forging of the Rings. And, given that timeline (presumably spread out over a minimum 5-seasons as guaranteed in the contract with the Tolkien estate) I'd say its nearly a 100% certainty that our POV character will be Galadriel. Can't wait, bring it on, Amazon. Bring it ON!
  2. Actually, the very first part of that talk was about pregnancy--Elsa asked what comes after kissing and Margaret told her she'd seen enough farm animals to understand where babies come from. Excellent episode, but one thing I didn't quite understand--why did Josef and his wife stay behind with their wagon when the rest of the wagon train left? Was that deliberate, him offering to stay behind as bait for the bandits?
  3. Illegal to swim? Illegal to even be in a river? Does anyone know if this was historically accurate, that these Germans (or Dutch, as I've seen them described) came from someplace where it was illegal to swim? If so, if its accurate, what the hell kind of law was that, I mean, what for? Anybody got the actual facts on that issue?
  4. Cool. Whatever else, Sheridan is certainly loyal to a core group of actors, show after show. I'm looking forward to seeing how she does as Carolyn.
  5. I'm still holding out hope that Taylor Kitsch (the great Tim Riggins in Friday Night Lights) will be the POV in Four Sixes, and NOT Jimmy. See my post at the Reddit 6666 sub to grasp the background on this. What do you think? Will we get him? (I tried to start a sub here at PrimeTimer for the show, but the Mods answered that we don't yet know enough about it, wouldn't open a forum yet. Hopefully, soon!)
  6. LOL, which is why I watch it with the subtitles on. :D
  7. Me, too! He seems a nice person and is certainly well-liked by the rest of the cast in real life. But, I hope he's okay--he seems to be getting thinner and thinner until his face and hands now look nearly skeletal. He has admitted to 'hitting bottom multiple times' in the past due to heroin addition, alongside his now-deceased best pal, Heath Ledger. I hope and trust that he's well and happy in his private life, but I wish he'd eat more!
  8. Me, too, waiting for some explanation. That whole thing just seemed a freezing cold, bad drug trip. I can make no sense of it at all. And when he told Monica he saw 'the end of us,' did that mean the end of them as a married couple, or the end of life for all of them, or...? I hope someone has a clearer understanding of what all that meant, because I'm totally lost.
  9. LaMonica Garrett just posted this about an hour ago. Bummer.
  10. About 20 minutes ago, Lamonica Garrett posted that tonight will be just a behind-the-scenes clip and that episode 4 will air next Sunday. Bummer.
  11. Men's Health e-magazine mistakenly published an article this morning recapping all the details of tonight's finale. It was obviously a mistake since the title of the piece is something like "What happened in last night's Yellowstone Finale." Obviously, it wasn't supposed to come out until tomorrow. The article has since been taken down, but--too late. Copies of it are flying all over the web.
  12. Yes. As I watched that scene unfold, I thought immediately of last week's 'snake in the barn' story. Will Walker prove to be the snake in the barn that is Rip and Beth's relationship?
  13. I wonder about all the immigrants walking alongside the wagons. I mean, are they just taking a break from riding in the wagons, or do they not even have wagons and are seriously going to walk all the way from Texas to Oregon?
  14. Damn, this is a good show. I've been sorta holding my breath as each episode begins, afraid it just accidentally started out good, but can't continue so, week after week. Yet, it does! Love it.
  15. I must be missing something. What does this mean?
  16. Any other fans of the Beth-Rip relationship here? If you haven't yet listened to this, its more than worth it.

    S01.E01: 1883

So nice that you've got your dad to share the show with. I read a funny post by an extra, talking about the problems of the insane heat during the Civil War enactment while wearing wool uniforms and tons of gear. The chest that Tom Hanks and Tim McGraw sat on was a genuine ammo storage chest in use at the time. The top was lined and then lidded with copper, since copper doesn't spark and wouldn't accidentally set off all that ammo. Anyway, it was so hot during that filming that the crew had to keep the top of that chest covered in ice packs and then covered with a tarp, til they filmed the actual scene. Otherwise, LOL, McGraw and Hanks would have toasted their butts to a red sizzle sitting down on that thing!

I was actually pretty impressed with both Tim McGraw and Faith Hill throughout both episodes. Its easy enough to sneer that they're ' just' country singers pretending to be actors, but of course, McGraw has done quite a bit of acting over the years, he's no rookie at the job. I read some articles during the production of the show, talking about how difficult and demanding the filming was. Taylor Sheridan demanded as much authenticity as possible, so the actors had to deal not only with the blazing heat of Texas and the vicious bitter cold of Montana, but also had to learn how to actually drive and steer a covered wagon drawn by a team of horses, etc. Anyway, I'm really enjoying becoming immersed in the show, hope if continues on and becomes a good long series.

Episodes 1 and 2 are free at Amazon if you're a Prime member.
  20. Its not made clear in the show, but I got the impression she was James' sister--just from his comments that she usually doesn't fix things, she makes them worse. And then her comments about how 'James is a dreamer, he always has been.' Then, at the end, Margaret turns and walks away, but James goes back to see Claire through to her end. I think it would have been reversed if she was Margaret's sister. Just my 2 cents.
  21. LOL, that was disgusting, and funny and pitiful at the same time. Cake on a steak! Somebody in this whole wonderfully dysfunctional group has to start teaching that kid some table manners. He's been eating with his hands and fingers since back when we saw him enjoying Beth's Hamburger Helper (made with tuna, yuk). The kid has basically zero social graces or even ordinary etiquette thanks to junkie dad and then being relegated to the Yellowstone barn. I mean, seriously, Yellowstone 'grown-ups' such as you are, somebody take this poor kid in hand!
  22. HAHA, my laugh of the day. You win the internet.
  23. Totally agree. Taylor Sheridan himself referred to the two of them as 'hideously flawed' characters.
