  1. I 100% agree. That is an awful lot of plot for a single show, before you even get to the doppleganger twist. I was enjoying the show but felt like that was just one plot twist too many.
  2. I get what you're saying, Bitterapple. I actually wasn't quoting anyone - I meant it appeared, at least to me, that this was the first time that Tormund and Beric were poking around down at the bottom of the wall since the ice dragon knocked a big part of it down. What I was wondering was that it seemed like if that's the case then they sure took their sweet time. I probably misunderstood the action, I'll have to rewatch the episode.
  3. So sorry if this has already been addressed; honestly, I went through this thread looking for it but all the Dany and Sansa bashing made me skip a lot. Anyway, here's my question; though it's hard to know for sure, it appears maybe two weeks to a month has elapsed since the previous episode (last ep of Season 7). (I'm basing this on the fact that we know it takes a month to get from King's Landing to Winterfell at least by road, though Jon and Dany et al came by ship. So quicker, no doubt, but on the other hand, while Theon's hair is longer, Cersei's pregnancy has not yet started to show.) So why did it take this long for Tormund and Beric to get down to the bottom of the wall? We know they can climb the wall in a day. I find it hard to believe it would take two weeks to a month longer to go down. Or am I missing something? I have a feeling I may have missed something which would answer this but I've been puzzling over this.
  4. Love this show more than chocolate itself. I did the same thing some of you others may have - watched the first ep of season 3, then realized I needed to go back and re-binge 1 & 2 again. Then finished binging 3. My god. Best line of season 3 for me was something like "we need to find more Nazis, fortunately there are more of them around than ever". I was sorry that we lost neighbor Rick (Richard T. Jones) but giving us Goran Visnijc instead was a pretty nice consolation prize. Can't wait for a few months or so to pass so I can binge this again!
  5. I thought the same thing. Delighted to see Murtagh and extra delighted to seem him looking so well. Loved his sneak-up on Claire. I thought that was perfect. Almost made up for the heartbreaking moment Claire unwrapped the gingham to reveal Adawehi's scalp. That was horrendous. (I only read the first book so didn't see this coming.) Can't wait to see the upcoming episodes.
  6. For those with younger, sharper hearing than mine - did anyone catch Bonnet's last line to Roger - after telling the story from his childhood and tossing the coin deciding whether or not to toss Roger overboard, Bonnet said one other thing to him but I couldn't understand it. Anyone?
  7. At least one of the dead bodies was Teddy. So not a full answer but at least a partial one. One other question I had; I know someone smarter than I already figured out that there are two timelines, 11 days apart; however, last season Delores broke MiB's arm; at the gala, he still couldn't move it and it seemed clear there was no time for him to have sought medical attention; yet here he is not only able to use it again, but able to fight with it. Do we infer from this that he too is now a host, or is that just sloppy writing/directing? Or did I miss something from last season, like it being revealed that he is a host?
  8. I'm going to be embarrassed when someone points me upthread to where this has already been asked and answered - I swear, I looked. But did anyone catch Bernard's last line? Watched it twice and still don't know if he said 'she killed them all' or 'we killed them all' or even "I killed them all" which is what I thought the first time. Anyone?
  9. I'm actually rather liking this. Even as a child, I though the original series was stupid and cheesy (with apologies to the fans out there - just my opinion, you understand) - so that leaves me free to like this series better. Things this series has going for it, IMO - Molly Parker and Parker Posey, the new Don West being way less of a tool than the original. And of course, the new Robot - don't get me started. Growing up in my house, if anyone stepped too far out of line or said something someone didn't like, one of us would inevitably flop our arms around in front and say "Danger , Will Robinson!" In fact, think most families in the 60s did that, although I've never polled anyone.
  10. I totally missed that! And I should have been expecting it - not even the first time that Bill Mumy has sorta but not quite reprised a role (Twilight Zone, anyone?) Thanks for that - I'll have to go back and rewatch that part now. I'm in heaven to have Molly Parker back on my TV.
  11. Oh lord this season was funny. I mean last season was funny as hell, but this season, jesus. I did the same damn thing I did with last season, which I swore I wouldn't. I binged the whole thing in one day. Totally worth it.
  12. Loved this season. Perhaps not quite as much as last season, (I missed Luke and Claire) but still thought it was great. Here's the thing; my best friend and I growing up loved each other, but each of us despised the other's mother. Both of us were convinced that our own moms were a pain in the ass, but that the other's was so much worse. I can't tell you the number of fights this caused us because neither of us really liked hanging out at the other's house because of it. Anyway, this season really took me back there - and there's not a thing that Jessica or Trish said or did that I found false. I don't like that they're at odds with each other, but I totally believe how they got there. Anyway, looking forward to next season greatly.
  13. I am LOVING this show. Been a fan of David Chang's since he was on Treme playing himself - and he totally stole the episodes he was on, BTW. As a rule, I'm not wild about 'celebrity Chefs, because they tend to be...well...dicks. Anthony Bourdain is the exception, IMO. But I saw Chang talking about this show on the Daily Show and decided to watch. Glad I did. Only a couple eps in but this show is about so much more than food. I also love that he's not a food snob at all. I think it goes without saying that for most of us, sometimes we're in the mood for something really fancy and complex with super fresh ingredients, and sometimes we're in the mood for McDonalds (or Taco Bell or Dominoes, to use some of the examples from this show.) I don't need some wealthy Chef telling me which ingredients I should favor and which I should eschew. There are many foods I don't care for, but I'd never tell you what you should and should not eat.
  14. I was very skeptical going in. I was a huge fan of the original and couldn't imagine why they thought they could recreate it. But for the hell of it, I popped in the first episode, and yeah, binged the entire season over two nights. I never, ever cried nearly this much for the original show. I've ended up sobbing at the end of pretty much every episode. (Not the fireman one, but I was so touched by Karamo's statement his 17-year old self who wanted to take a boy to his prom found catharsis in waltzing with a big strapping fireman.) I'm so taken with Tan, Antoni, Karamo and Bobby. I'm not crazy about Jonathan, but I have a dual prejudice against blatant attention-seekers as well as a problem with long hair on guys. (I'm trying to overcome that last prejudice.) But this reboot is so emotional! I'm also, weirdly, falling a little in love with Atlanta! Who knew? I have friends who live there who have always told me how wonderful it is, but I never listen to them - I figured I couldn't trust anyone who lives in Atlanta and likes it. But I'm starting to see its charms. Anyway, love love love the new season.
  15. Elle, when you first posted that I saw it, but had some kind of delayed reaction. Saw it again just now and thought, I need to find out more about that. (I admit it, had to look it up - here it's called Legends of Tomorrow, probably to avoid confusion with Agents of Shield.) But anyway, it's in my Netflix queue now - thanks. My theory - one of the reasons he looks so handsome in that picture is because he looks like a Browncoat. Ding...dong!
