  1. My first thought was Wells Fargo, then I went with Tiffany, which I thought was very, very wrong. It was a nice surprise. Same here regarding CERN. As someone who worked in tech my entire career (and was working when the first emails started - I'm THAT old), I hang my head in shame.
  2. As others have said, EVERYONE deserves cake (and ice cream), and those with a zero week deserve it even more. dankeschön, Dankesean! I ended up 2/5 with no *. But that's an improvement. So I'm good with that.
  3. Thank You! As I was finishing it up to put on the forum, I thought, should I double check? Clearly my answer was no. Wrong answer! 😂 PS - For once the Thank You icon seemed to cover the response for me - thanks, boy am I embarrassed!
  4. Week 32 – April 15 Regular Jeopardy – Two Asterisks 156. GREAT BRITS - From 1689 to 1690 & 1701 to 1702, he served as a Member of Parliament representing the constituency of Cambridge University (Newton) 157. *WORDS & THEIR MEANINGS - Churchill gave a word a new meaning when he called for a "talk with Soviet Russia upon the highest level... a parley at" this (summit) 158. ORGANIZATIONS - The press called the donations received after this org.'s 1938 founding "a silver tide which actually swamped the White House" (March of Dimes) 159. * ALPHABETICAL AMERICA - Until Alabama became the 22nd state, this one was first alphabetically (Connecticut) 160. COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS - Featured in a 2020 film, she gets her name from a 16th c. Italian stock character who often wore diamond-patterned outfits (Harly Quinn) Edited because there were two * - and I neglected to double check. Sigh...
  5. My favorite album ever. I saw a community theater performance of it when I was a teen, and have been hooked on it ever since. Yeah, that was a head scratcher.
  6. No, but basically attacking him verbally the first time they meet him - knowing he's the nephew of their friend - doesn't exactly make them great guys either.
  7. So's Peter Frampton's. 😉 I can't find the clue - but I remember the One Night in Bangkok answer. Despite being old I remembered the title. Just looked it up on YouTube. I remember the video, and I don't hate the song. It's kinda catchy, imo.
  8. Thanks, and I think the longest correct streak is a good idea. So I'll be calculating: the longest 0 streak overall, the longest 0 streak since the TOC, et al the longest correct streak overall, the longest correct streak during the TOC, et al. If anyone objects to being included in any category, send me a message. Aww, I'm so sorry. I still miss our dog who used to clean up the floor when we dropped food. Especially, for some odd reason, dried pasta. He loved dried pasta.
  9. So close... So close too... I only knew Frampton from his solo years - and never knew anything about him or his background. Just that long curly hair 😘
  10. Esposo and Esposa sound so much nicer, though. More romantic. 😊
  11. Hey folks, remind me of what date/week I should use for the start of calculating the 0 streak champion(s). I've forgotten amid all the tournaments and such.
  12. No apologies necessary. Glad to get my spreadsheet filled in. 😉
  13. And given this was one of those extremely long cruises, I'd expect even better facilities (and doctors).
  14. Thank you. I'll keep a note of that.
  15. I have to agree that these days, it certainly is the best of the ones I watch.
  16. I'm assuming the blue 1 is the asterisk, so it's recorded as that. Let me know if I'm wrong. 1/0 this week. I knew the dog was in Coco, but I coudn't get to the name and Encanto came out of my mouth. At least I got Cook.
  17. I once had three teenagers sit on their hands because they wouldn't stop (playfully) slapping at each other. Was kind of astonished that they obeyed me. That was one of the best parts - Will meeting not just someone, but family, with the same issue. Yeah, that bothered me too. And cling wrap on top of hot food - but then maybe that's just me. Hot food gets aluminum foil. I agree that it was one of the best episodes - not just on Will Trent but other cop shows - that I've seen in a while.
  18. I recently read a novel about Captain Cook's wife - so I did connect the Discovery with him, but didn't think of Endeavor. Yeah, not so much. Chenoweth has a really distinctive look, imo. It certainly wasn 't a finch. My very favorite children's book - as usual my kids didn't love it as much as I did. 🥲
  19. Week 31 – April 8 -JIT and Regular Jeopardy (4/10/24) – One Asterisk 151. MYTHOLOGY - A peasant who became the king of Phrygia created this intricate problem that was solved in 333 B.C. (the Gordian Knot) 152. BODIES OF WATER - The smallest inland sea in the world, it's completely within the territory of a single country & connects 2 other larger seas (Sea of Marmara) – End of JIT, Victoria wins 153. *ANIMATED FILM CHARACTERS - In this 2017 film Dante is a hairless breed known as a Xolo dog (Coco) 154. SPACE SHUTTLES - 2 space shuttles were named for craft commanded by this man who died far from home in 1779 (James Cook) 155. AUTHORS' AFTERLIVES - After his death his son Michel reworked & published manuscripts like one about a meteor made of gold heading for Earth (Jules Verne)
  20. I've never seen anyone so enthusiastically negative! 😄 I lie, I've there myself.
  21. In general, I'm not a fan of animated films - having to sit through them with my kids. The mister and I would swap depending on who felt they could manage with some of them (somehow I got Oscar the Grouch). But, I'll admit that most of the ones I do like are Pixar. And my now grown kids love them, so I did watch Coco, which is just lovely and very touching. I wish I'd seen it in a theater, because the colors were amazing. Same here - I was going for Coco, but Encanto came out of my mouth. The mister got it - and he doesn't even watch them (now that our kids are grown). Didn't remember the "longest reigning champ." And definitely noticed the slower pace, and clues left on the board. But I got more than I have been during the last tournament, so that's a positive.
  22. Me too. Me too, though I swapped Angola for Algeria (at least they're on the same continent). She's already qualified for the Masters. https://www.whattowatch.com/watching-guides/jeopardy-masters-2024-contestants-and-everything-we-know-about-the-game-show Oh, @SomeTameGazelle beat me to it before I could post.
  23. Oh, I just took that as (pardon the phrase) ball busting.
  24. I don't remember seeing the digs (but then, things roll by me sometimes), but I heartily agree that he hasn't aged all that much, at least to my eyes.
  25. So did anyone else say "We're gonna need a lotta cakes" in the same tone as "We're gonna need a bigger boat" - No, just me then?
