  1. The guy who played mean Mr. Sprague also played some scrubby farmer in "Money Crop"! Strange episode. Did we ever see that guy and his wife again? Or all the angry, impatient farmers?
  2. "It's Been Agatha All Along" will be my favorite song for a while.
  3. Bess Till, the janitor/dealer, the Breachmen and Pike are all characters we're supposed to think are important, but they don't tell us why. They have that "throw something at the wall and see what sticks" feel about them.
  4. Thank you! I only read a couple pages every night to fall asleep, so I barely remember Ben Woodworth. On a related note, so far the Long Winter has been the best one I've read. Really dramatic. Even though I knew they would all make it, I was a bit nervous for a while.
  5. I remember the walk back from school, it was harrowing. I don't remember the student renting a room, but I tend to read fast and miss stuff a lot of times. Was it Cap Garland?
  6. It was the last episode of the season. I haven't seen anything about renewal or cancellation yet. The ratings are very low, and I've noticed I haven't seen much "buzz" either here or anywhere on social media. Nobody is talking about this show. I don't know what BBC America's threshold for cancellation is. They seem to have alienated a section of their potential audience by straying so far from the source material. Personally, I would watch a second season, but I won't be crushed if there isn't one.
  7. I'm reading the books now, and I'm just finishing The Long Winter. The book talks about Pa having trouble getting across the street in the blizzard, and in a previous book, I think On the Banks of Plum Creek, Pa gets stuck in a blizzard for 3 days right near their house. So I can understand the kids getting lost no matter how far they were going. This still doesn't answer the question of how far the farm is from town, since it does seem to change like everyone has pointed out. Does anyone know of a map of the TV town and the surrounding areas? I know the location of the buildings in town is fairly consistent.
  8. I happened to have watched "Harvest of Friends" today. At one point, Hanson's blows the whistle, and they hear it back at the Ingall's place and get ready for Pa's return. So they're near enough to the town to hear a whistle, but not near enough to make it home in a blizzard. 🤷‍♂️
  9. The only one I'm really looking forward to is "Here's Negan." I imagine they'll screw it up.
  10. Oh yeah, same here. They just opened yesterday to indoor dining, in time for Valentine's Day.
  11. I've been to a few horror/SciFi conventions (NERD!!) and there is always a room where you can pay for an autograph from actors of various fame levels. Seeing the less popular ones sitting there alone was always kind of sad.
  12. Really? I just got (mediocre) Chinese food. Chinese restaurants just about never close around here. When they were closed for about a month last April, I knew something was very wrong.
  13. I'm a big LHotP fan, but I never really thought of Ma "in that way." But there's one episode where she has a fever and her hair is down, and I was like "heeeey." Thomas was hotter, but Locklear had more staying power.
  14. New episode on the 24th. I don't know why they had so many repeats. I always thought February was sweeps month, is that over?
  15. I'm still kind of processing it. It was certainly not what I was expecting. Considering they botched it terribly when they followed the novel, it might not be such a bad thing that they departed from it. ETA: Stephen King wrote the episode!
  16. Me neither. Of course, I get plenty of ads for stuff I look at online, mostly guitars. But I swear, my wife and I were talking about me getting new shoes. I did not look online for new shoes. Two days later I got ads for the shoes I wear popping up. 😲
  17. Lol, our light switches are generally the same. I work in a giant building that used to be a chewing gum factory. If a plane hit it, only the plane would be damaged. I have no access to any of the HVAC controls.
  18. I guess if everybody was sleeping and I woke them up. 😁 This is the first time in 12 years here that the lights were on when I came in. Even the few times I worked weekends, there was somebody already here, if only the maintenance crews.
  19. The thing is, I work in a huge building. There are probably 300 people on my floor alone. I had to look for the light switch! Apparently it's a big green button. I've probably passed it a thousand times on my way to the bathroom, but I never really noticed it before.
  20. I'm in the office today. I was the only one here for the first hour. I had to turn the lights on!
  21. Ok, that is freakin' genius. I was LOLing at 5 this morning. The janitor is the worst character on this thing. Guaranteed his "plot" goes nowhere.
  22. I gave you a shocked thingee, doesn't that count? 🤯
