  1. RIP. Levon Helm and Rick Danko, tragic early deaths both of them, were the great voices of The Band and Robertson the great song writer. I hope people still remember how beloved and respected The Band was by their peers. I loved them and always wanted them to stay together longer than they did - but what a legacy! I think Garth Hudson is the only band member left living, but he is in rather frail condition.
  2. Yes, I am talking about the lead Manuel. I am watching the show right now for the first time.
  3. Young Russell Crowe, yes, though Crowe doesn't have the height. He also reminds me a bit of James Garner as Rockford.
  4. Oh, my thought had nothing to do with your comment. I come from a background where the only women wearing wigs like that had lost their own hair due to chemo. And I sure hope that is not the reason here.
  5. Cathy wore an obvious wig all season. I hope the actress is well.
  6. After tonight's light speed happy ending I hope they shuffle off Will +family as angst-free as possible in the next season to bring in the new vicar. Just make it a transfer to a new vicarage for family reasons.
  7. Well, I grew quite to like Larry the twerp. This show is giving me emotional whip lash. A season of of nothing but utter misery and angst and then, in the last 15 minutes, happy, happy, happy - and puppies!! Let this be the happy ending for Will and let us have an angst free next season ha! I am glad Geordie's boss got transferred, that character made my teeth grind.
  8. They are all better singers than the Buffy cast. And some of them obviously have had real training. Uhura's voice is wonderful. Pike's girlfriend is doomed.
  9. That's exactly it. She kept her engagement to him secret. Of course they would suspend and investigate her.
  10. It's unfortunate that they killed off the one character who added some much needed warmth to this compelling but rather cold and bleak drama. I am betting Ray will come through her suspension as the show is getting a second series with more episodes than the first. Ultimately this didn't live up to the pedigree of Bodyguard (well worth a watch if you have never seen it) but I will watch the second series.
  11. I see next week they are airing two episodes, the second being the season finale. Good. I am so out of like and patience with all the contrived drama. One thing I have enjoyed this season is that they are giving the female clerk at the police station so much more to do. They are really showing her competence. I wonder whether they will
  12. I disliked Rah from the start. He was too ...jovial for me under the circumstances. It rubbed me the wrong way. I don't blame Pike for expecting the war survivors among his crew to toe the line. He had his orders and he did show concern for the people having difficulties being around Rah. I believe M'Benga snapped and killed Rah, triggered by Rah touching him. I don't think he planned it. I am not sure Chapel saw the whole thing, in any case she would have covered for him, given their bond forged by the horrors they had been through. What M'Benga did here creates an eventual exit story for the character, which makes me sad as I really like him. I haven't seen much of original recipe Trek and I don't remember well what I have seen. Next Generation was "my" Trek when I was a child. But I do know that they will eventually have a different doctor. This is all getting bitter sweet for me.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAQGol7zHAw I like him! And my great grand mother had a crush on Gregory Peck, always called him dreamy. I inherited good taste.
  14. I already knew Jack Quaid was a charmer. I really enjoyed this episode and I have never watched Lower Decks. Both the Pike and Spock actors have excellent comedic timing. Makes them even more attractive to me.
  15. Isn't this show made by the same creative that made Richard Madden's The Bodyguard ? Based on that pedigree I am going to state that sweet lover boy is a goner.
  16. I am having trouble sticking with this show. I am actually enjoying the 10 o clock show more - and that has never happened before. Not only do I find Will now so unlikable, he is also pathetic. Show some strength of character for crying out loud! As things stand I wouldn't mind him being knocked off but I would feel bad for his wife and step-son, so no on that.
  17. Well, well. well, I thought her fiance was "off" since the start. When she was pushed under the water it did occur to me to suspect him but he wasn't soaked so I put it aside.... I hope her lover isn't dead but I fear the worst.
  18. The case was interesting. Geordie's boss needs to go. When you are that blatant about your biases.... All I hope for Will is that he not break his step-son's heart. All things considered Leonard should have been the vicar. He has more of a calling to minister than Sidney and Will ever had put together.
  19. This show is a spring board for the hot young ones ....
  20. I know the Will actor auditioned for Superman, had he gotten that it would have been the end of the show unless they did another vicar recast. I don't really want to watch Will in his angst contortions put his pregnant wife through a lot of stress she does not need. Is she really an atheist? Why marry him then? For crying out loud. I have always hated the way this show piles on the angst. Why not have these people have regular problems and give the excitement to the cases? If they wanted to keep the hottie vicar who gets his kit off with the ladies then don't marry him off! It doesn't make your main character look good if he is a selfish and fickle husband.
  21. Sadly this show is out of fresh ideas and has to resort to woe is him contrivance to stutter along. Indeed, welcome to another season of misery.
  22. I try to suspend my disbelief but seeing the Alexander the Great image in that alien hall took me out of the story. Maybe for the icy set design of your Star Trek show don't choose an image of a king so famous that I knew of him before I was six years old? One of my first books was a picture story of his exploits. Do people really assume that we don't know the very basics of history anymore. That was my least favorite episode of the season so far. I just didn't care for it.
  23. He is so great there is one in every universe?
  24. I thought it was heart-breaking but not in the way I feared I would have my heart broken. Nobody I cared for died. To me my man Bright had the most hopeful ending. He will return to India, the place of his halcyon days. I can imagine he may continue his painting, find peace visiting where his daughter died. I can imagine him meeting a nice woman. I can imagine good things for him. I can hope he would not be one of those professional men who drop dead a few years after retirement. Thursday did not die though they certainly trolled us into thinking he would. He and Morse did part on good terms though Thursday certainly fell off the pedestal in a terrible way. No matter what Thursday said I believe that killing will haunt him. Morse showed mercy when he didn't tell him who he killed. As for Morse, I just can't get out of my mind how dour and cynical and unhappy I find his older self. They certainly stuck the ending. They ended the way they had been for its entire run - classy and complicated. I am sad it's over. I am glad I watched the show.
  25. So did I! Can I sit at your table? I am grateful to be getting new Star Trek with actors and characters I really like. This show is fun for me and I found the episode both entertaining and rather touching.
