  1. Well, All Creatures just got renewed but I didn't see a renewal for this show.
  2. Maybe they will take her less for granted now? I hope so. How long is this war story line going to last? The thought of going the entire next season without Tristan again! and mostly without James fills me with trepidation. Could they draft Siegfried too when things get even more dire in the war?
  3. So what's really up with the actor who plays William? Didn't they have him to a contract and he took other work? I am fine with Nash being the love interest but it is confusing because William is in the title of the show. Maybe the uncertainty over the actor status is the reason the show is not renewed?
  4. Well I hope this wasn't the end of the show, because if so - I am not satisfied. Nash and Eliza have excellent chemistry. Their jail good-bye made me ship them.
  5. Had Audrey really loved Gerald she would have gone through with it I feel. After all she isn't some timid and self-sacrificing flower. I am glad that both Helen and Audrey are back "home". Because most of this episode was an almost unbearable downer with the only comfort being the oh so adorable animals, kitty! and the doggies, and the super-cute little cow. I personally do not want to watch miserable lonely Siegfried with Carmody as his only company on a continuous basis. Sorry, Gerald, and good bye. I don't believe working at Farnon House was ever "just a job" for Audrey.
  6. And Billy is no Lindsey Buckingham. Whatever I have thought of him as a human being he is a genuine musical genius.
  7. I hope they change that. First of all those kids obviously didn't take good care of the cat since it was found severely injured and half dead. And I don't want poor Helen to suffer on top of James leaving her to become a glorious RAF pilot.
  8. Baffled. They said next episode was the season finale.
  9. I don't know Eliza seems better matched with Nash. I don't see either William or Eliza ever changing fundamentally who they are.
  10. I doubt she is really going to leave. I will be shocked if she really does. I just don't believe she'll end up with Gerald. As to why Gerald's sister can't just move in with Gerald? Plot contrivance to increase the angst factor. I am really missing Tristan and his actor and I don't see how this show can survive the absence of James too. You would think even if James is foolish enough to become cannon fodder that the military command would realize that young men like James are doing essential war work at home.
  11. Until this flashback episode I thought they were both in their late thirties/early forties. Am I crazy?
  12. When I saw that poor horse standing there, impaled, I literally gasped in dismay. Obviously it was all fake but it looked very real. I wasn't totally shocked or in disbelief that the horse was able to survive and recover because I know people can survive freak impalement depending on the location on the body. To keep it that still though during the ordeal.... I feel bad for Gerald, I do, because he is a nice man but he just isn't quite right for Mrs.Hall. Some day Gerald will realize this and get hurt. I like the new assistant - it was so funny how Siegfried took to him right away - but I just really miss Tristan. I hope he can come home for leave at some point.
  13. I love this show and am glad it's getting a season 2. Sad that only a few people here seem to be interested in it. It's easy to love Ringo but I came to love Taigen. I cringe that this show is in the kids section. It certainly is not for kids.
  14. My mother used to tell me couples who use the rhythm method are also called parents. Smiles.
  15. They don't just "claim" it - these rules do exist for the protection of animals on TV and movie productions nowadays. I do admit I don't get the complaint that there is not enough of actual vet care in the show, this weeks episode alone had plenty. I think this a fine production with great locations and wonderful acting. Any criticism I have is when the story lines don't go in the way I want, ha.
  16. I was so happy that sweet Blossum didn't go to the knackers after all. I am glad Miss Arbuckle was an one episode character, what a prissy and snooty ..err...woman, with all the emotional intelligence of a turnip. Exactly the wrong fit for these folks and that practice. When she tried to get rid off Siegfried's beloved rat by putting it out in the cold I knew she was a goner. They do need someone to organize them and do the paper work. Maybe Helen could give it another go.
  17. Variety was reporting the same thing, so I sure hope this movie does not replace the series. Because 8 episodes beats a measly movie by a long shot.
  18. I am glad to get a movie as long as this does not replace season 4.
  19. No Tristan this season? I miss him. You are never going to convince me that Audrey is supposed to be with Gerald. Give it up, show! If you didn't want me to ship Siegfried/Audrey you shouldn't have written the housekeeper as a beautiful younger woman with lovely chemistry with Siegfried and given her the first name of real life Siegfried's real life wife. There comes a point when playing coy becomes tiresome. Come on!
  20. https://www.thewrap.com/most-watched-streaming-shows-2023/#:~:text=“Star Wars” reigned supreme on,data compiled by Whip Media. To all those thinking or hoping Mandalorian had been turning into a big ratings failure, not so fast haters....
  21. I don't know whether I would consider most of these main characters rotten to the core. Flawed yes, and spoiled definitely. Bertha is about par for the course for a ruthlessly ambitious newly rich social climber but certainly not evil. And George is almost a paragon in comparison to what most of the real life Gilded Age robber barons got up to. Even hoity-toity stuck up Agnes is almost a model of enlightenment in her treatment of Peggy for the time. I don't like Oscar because he turned out to be such a pathetic dumb-ass. And I can't stand that ex-servant who brazenly tried to seduce George while in service with his family - she ain't all that and such a sourpuss on top of it.
  22. To me she has a perfect face for the time period. To me often in historical productions - not this one - a character will look way too "modern". She carries off the hair style and costumes perfectly.
  23. Netflix tends to cancel most shows after the third season (if they make it that far), but there are of course the exceptions, like The Crown and Stranger Things. If they can keep the quality up and the book fan base happy, and if the producer wants to continue they could be such an exception. Alienating the books fans may not be helpful.
  24. I will be seriously pissed off if they deviate from the books for Eloise and Phillip. The notion of her slumming it with that boy in marriage is ridiculous. I don't care if Marina has to get killed off for it to happen, she is such a sourpuss.
