  1. Hooray for Barney Miller! While listening today I realized why I named one of my imaginary friends "Barney". Because my parents watched this show religiously and I was -2 when it started and 6 when it ended. I have to raise my hand sheepishly as someone who hasn't watched Breaking Bad, but loves Better Call Saul. I started the first season with my husband and after a few episodes needed a break from the darkness. He kept watching and I didn't. I think it says a lot about how good these characters and stories are that I can watch and not need to know what the sequel to all of this is. However, now I do want to watch Breaking Bad.
  2. Was anyone else devastated by this episode's, nay this season's, unrelenting tragedy? Honestly, I couldn't even feel the joy from the Turners' baby or Barbara and Tom's wedding because that spunky mum died from birth control pills and left behind her little girls. Of course I've always cried during every Call the Midwife episode, but at least part of the time those tears have been happy tears. By the end of this season, I just needed that woman to recover and when she didn't, I felt bereft.
  3. (I know this is way past being relevant, but I just listened to this tonight.) Fozzie Bear is obviously Bert Cooper.
  4. Husband and I watched the last 3 episodes yesterday. Then we had to watch a couple of episodes of The Simpsons as a palate cleanser because we were so very, very depressed. Geez, 24!
