I know they’re just trying something new with an aging show, but I honestly cannot imagine how anyone thought this was a good idea.

Yikes. How is this forum so dead on reunion night? Anyhow, do we know who Sheree is dating?
Also. I know Andy’s working hard to redeem Marlo, but I wish they’d reassign her peach - I know she’s had a rough childhood, but she’s just mean and dull - not much fun to watch IMO.

I cringed this entire episode. I may never recover from that last 10 minutes.

I absolutely can not stand Ralph. Why would anyone take his advice about being a stepparent when he’s just playing at it. If he doesn’t make it legal, he doesn’t have to find a way out of it.
Agreed. And I do not understand the screen time this guy gets. It’s wild the producers heard feedback from last year and said “what we really need is more Ralph”. Between him and Marlo, this show is getting to be a chore.

I’d like Marlo to be depeached, please.

There's always some big finale competition that ends reality shows, even lovely, gentle ones like GBBO, and my interest in watching the finales went way up after they started doing more than the reunion on stage. Top Chef, you cook the meal of your life. Project Runway, you make a collection. ANTM, you had to walk in a "real" show, etc. If the lip sync is how each queen potentially lives or dies during the competition, then it only makes sense that to have it be the final arbiter (outside of Ru just picking her fave).
True, but to use your analogy, it would be like Top Chef saying the finale show is “you can only cook Indian cuisine”, or Project Runway “a collection of only ball gowns”, etc. great for those who specialize in those areas, but thumb on the scale against those who might excel in everything but. In this case - comedy / actor queens, vocalists, fashion queens, etc.
I also think a night of all lip syncs - like 3 or 4 collections of ball gowns - makes for boring television, but I realize that’s a personal preference. I wish they would have the final queens perform them but stipulate it’s not the only criteria - it renders everything else they do as unimportant, ultimately. Why reduce winning down to one talent when there are so many?
What great season though - unfortunate there’s backlash. Not a good look for queens crowing they were screwed. This show has never been “fair” or objective but it seems most queens go on to great success, which I’d think means more than the prize money anyway.

This cast is whack. Happy to see the ladies from Potomac and Porsha but the rest are either “ugh” or “who?!?”

Wait....so the winner of the 5th-8th placed queens gets $50000 but 2nd-4th get...nothing?
Right? And one person picks the final member (gee, who will twinner Monet choose?) AND a 3 star challenge - rendering most of the season pointless. I’ve long ago trained myself to watch each season as a variety show instead of a competition because the judging, random changing rules, and producer shenanigans would drive me crazy.
I wonder if they sandbagged Shea and, to a lesser extent, Monet to have a underdog to finalist arc. They may have picked the wrong horse though, since I don’t know that Shea is that widely beloved, but that may be just me - not a huge fan, and disappointed not to have Raja and / or Jaida in the top group.
Excellent season but this episode was an eye-roller for sure.

Raja and Jinx were the only performances I really remember from this painfully long, drawn out skit.
Oh my gosh the skit was SO long. Brutal.
This season has been interesting in that I’d never warmed up to Trinity or Shea before, but I get the Trinity thing now; Shea less so but still like her more than before. Monet, I’ve lost a little love after being consistently petty. And Viv…haven’t warmed to her at all after her UK season or AS7.
it’s interesting that folks keep saying Ru favors Jinkx and will make sure she’s in the top 4. Why do people believe this? I don’t get the sense she prefers Jinkx and even forgot her name at some recent event. Just curious where that belief is coming from. I love Jinkx though and would like to see her win, but I’d be happy to see many of them win.
Raja is hella sexy. I didn’t love her goth performance - it was aiight - but still glad to see her in top 2.
This season has been great. They shouldn’t ever send girls home again on All Stars seasons - this is way more fun.

Like many of you, I liked this season because of the players but hated that it became the Julie show with her big bag of bullshit. I don’t know why, but I expected the B/M machine to give us a more real edit. These people aren’t 20, nor is the audience, and we’re reality tv savvy. Cut the shit.
You’ve got the silly incoming messages and games to prompt discussion / debate. The drunken drag night, love triangle and Julie’s
PAY ATTENTION TO ME“sex positivity” were contrived and BORING, and it’s disappointing B/M put that nonsense front and center. Totally agree with @Zizzlezazzle, honor your audience, and I’d respectfully add honor your cast - on screen and off. I imagine neither Jamie nor his wife appreciated the edit monkey shit either - transparent though it was. These people are in their 40s with families ffs.The best parts by far were the candid discussions about their lives then and now. I would’ve much rather had Kelley and Tokyo fully engaged and Julie on the early plane ride. 🤷♀️
Julie managed to burn every single bridge with her antics - nice job sis. I also love how she straight up lies to the camera with such ease “….with his shirt off.” Uh huh.
I think she came off really bad, ultimately, so I don’t think the generous edit did much to save face for her, but I may nope out of another homecoming season after NOLA’s machinations. Production can’t seem to control themselves from screwing up a good thing.
Overall good season - made way more fun reading all of your posts.

@lyric, your avatar is the cover of an album I love and very few other people seem to have heard (Living Colour's The Chair in the Doorway). I don't know if that's the only place the image has appeared, though, so I don't know if the reference is intentional. It definitely works for a TV site.
I love that you know the album! Yes, my favorite band on the planet and works perfectly in this context to boot. Just don’t bust me for copyright infringement ;)

Can we talk about Tokyo’s headband? We never see him without it- just interesting is all.
Julie is an odd duck; she’s also just a garden-variety asshole who has taken up too much oxygen this season.
This season has been good though - much better than LA Homecoming for sure.

Barbara’s Tom+Chee comparison took a dark turn - I thought she was bringing them up as a positive contrast, as they’ve shown multiple updates of them talking about their booming success, and then she says they went bankrupt and lost their homes! Had no idea - so very sad. They seemed like nice guys.

Watched the first 3 eps as well - interesting, might stick around for a few more at least since the “you can come but never leave” / horror aspect is intriguing. One thing that jumped out at me is the sound editing (design?) is strange to me - the background noise drops out frequently. At first, I thought it was intentional - to build suspense, but it continued to happen at odd, banal moments, so I dunno. I’m no technical critic typically, but it was really distracting.

God, I’m such an idiot. I thought this was a limited series and binged it. I read up thread it’s FIVE seasons?!? Well, hell - guess I’ll check back here to see how it ends. It was entertaining enough, but no interest in following this through more seasons - two maybe, but five is a non-starter for me. Enjoy guys!

I am ok with Erika winning but preferred Xander.
Really did not like the constant commentary by Jeff. He has gotten too full of himself.
Yeah. I’m not suggesting he should be replaced but Probst makes this show nearly unwatchable for me. If he were onscreen anymore than he is, I’d probably have bailed by now.

Did anybody catch the end credits? Was that MCH singing?
Yeah, I dunno - gallows humor hits differently these days, but I'm enjoying this, I guess...? For now, "not a good as Seasons 1&2" is still good enough.

I can't and never could stand Karen. She's a liar and a poser. I think her life with RayRay is a sham. What I don't get is that I listen to some (too many) podcasts that analyze these crazy reality shows and so many of them love Karen. They call her Queen. Ugggghh! They think she is the best star of all the Housewife shows and can do no wrong. Do they not hear her lies, her double talk? She's ugly inside.
Preach. Never liked her; never understood the hype. She is quite possibly the most insincere, unhappy, unpleasant personality across the franchises (that I watch...) and my god, that's a low, low bar. I mean, Leah and Ramona are obnoxious and awful, but Karen's the one who'll put the knife in your back and say she was just defending herself.

Find someone who loves to brag about you the way Rinna does Scott Disik(?) She is positively giddy.
I'm aware that this guy is someone from the Kardashian discard pile, but as one of the unindoctrinated - I don't get it. Was he some kind of big deal?

The Vow
in HBO Documentaries
Man, I’d forgotten how much I cannot stand the theme song. Like nails on a chalkboard.
Glad they’re back for round 2. It’s interesting to see the aftermath. The dude who had Tourette’s (Michael? Mark?) is interesting. I can imagine overcoming something so debilitating has got to make seeing anything beyond the good more difficult, but damn, that was some aggressive manipulation he was pulling with Isabella…gross.
Nancy is sort of a tragic figure - she always seemed insecure and cheesy to me. That said, she references the “sex stuff” and implying if not for that… but didn’t she have, like, boxes full of cash stashed away and other shady stuff?
