S06.E10: Backwards In Heels
SomeJabroni replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Talk about different strokes - I think Mauricio is hot, Hot, HOT! Though, I am quite partial to that olive skinned/dark hair/Mediterranean look, I think he pulls it off smashingly. Obviously, YMMV. :) One other thing that particularly made me giggle this episode was Taylor of the House of Duck Lipped trying to interject herself into Kyle and Lisa's conversation. First, Lisa brushed her off without even acknowledging her presence, then the camera angle moved two steps to the right to completely cut her (Taylor) out of the shot. Silly, thirsty girl. And while other styles have been mentioned, when I saw her, I thought she had confused Gay 90's with Steampunk or something, but then I realized she probably isn't really familiar with either and just googled something and thought she would look ''cool." Or "kewwwwwwwwl," as Eric Cartman would say. Lisar is admittedly a clumsy shit stirrer, but I will take clumsy over drunk, drugged, and hopelessly stupid (i.e., Brandi, with an "i") every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Add my JohnHancock to the petition to just stop talking about this human trashbag. At least I DVR this show so I will be able to FF her upcoming appearance. ETA: Typos -

Thank you for clearing that up, LIMOM. Apology totally accepted. :) -

I shared my story in order to offer a different perspective as to why Lisar acts the way she does toward her parents; I said it was a possibility, not a known happening. But thanks for your glib reply regarding my "unfortunate childhood." Unless you are personally acquainted with Lisar and her parents, we are both just speculating here. And if my speculation is/was true (which I really don't know either way), that's probably why their care is "dumped" on the sister and she IS keeping her kids away from them. Again, YMMV. -

Believe you me, she probably never will. Admitting to yourself that your own parents have no love for you is one thing, but sharing it with other people.... I can't think of a more humiliating prospect. I think that's why she goes so far in the other direction, to project this image of strong, happy, full of enthusiasm woman. YMMV -

Having read through many, many comments castigating Lisar for her seemingly cavalier attitude towards her parents - let me offer a little perspective. Growing up, I had the most hateful, violent, emotionally and mentally abusive people one could imagine as parents. The things those people did and said to me can STILL bring tears to my eyes some 30+ years later, even after years of therapy. For example, when the time came for me to go to college, her exact statement was, "I'm not paying for ITS education." Yes. It. So, fast forward a few years where, due to some hard work and hustle, I got a partial scholarship to (an out of state) school and worked to pay for the rest of it (books/room/board/etc.), though I did stay with an aunt the first couple of months I was there, until I got a job/apt/etc. That was in 1992. They never once called me, would not accept my phone calls, and I'm sure it's no surprise that they weren't there for my graduation. We have never spoken again. At first, it wasn't by my choice; I was devastated over the way my parents treated me. Even more devastated by the stories (Iies) they told people about me - like I had stolen things from their home, that I used drugs, hurtful stuff like that. But to the outside world, they were this wonderful, religious couple with nothing but goodness in their hearts and halos above their heads. It was only after finding a good therapist who advised me to cut out the toxic people that I could begin to live my life with some semblance of happiness. My point behind all this TMI is that perhaps Lisar has very good reason to stay away from her parents. Obviously, I am not personally acquainted with any of the folks on this show, but ... her attitude does ring some bells. Most 'normal' people would be devastated if their parent were withering away from such a horrible disease; folks who suffered mental/physical/whatever anguish at the hands of said parents are generally straight up relieved to be away from them, if not outright happy that their tormentors are/were suffering. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I rather enjoy Bitchy!Ken. He and his taxidermied little doppelganger throw better shade than RuPaul. Okay, not necessarily better, but [almost] as enjoyable. I LOVE his mullet from the glory dayz and would be most disappointed if he were to cut it and let Flat-Iron Tom have a go at him.

While rewatching this season over the holiday weekend, I noticed that the PC brahs' fraternity shirts spell out to P (which is technically Rho, which is equivalent to "R" but the only Greek letter represented by a "P"), Omega (technically "N", but kinda looks like a sideways "C"), and Delta, the triangle, which is equivalent to "D". All that just to say, that I think the PC brahs are somehow pod people. Do they even realize they're ads?

That story sounds hinky to me. Please submit all physician reports and treatment plans forthwith. -
S07.E21: Reunion (Part II)
SomeJabroni replied to Mozelle's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
IMO, Heather looks almost completely the same while Carole seems to undergone extensive resurfacing/peeling/fillers/botox. Not that I'm putting down either woman; I think they both look good. It just seems that Carole has had more 'work' done than Heather. No comment on Ramona. And since I'm being shallow, please allow to say how absolutely beautiful Sonya-with-a-J looks. Even without makeup, her bone structure (IDK if she's surgically enhanced) and her eyes are just striking to me. Same with LuAnn, though that getup she was sporting at the reunion was *tragic* (must be said in Mr. Omar's voice, from "Everybody Hates Chris"). On a more 'serious' note, I do believe that Heather is done after this season, and I also believe it was her choice. Maybe Bravo hadn't intended to offer her another year anyway, but I don't get the feeling that she's losing a lot of sleep over it. Either way, good for her. She's a busy, successful woman who was doing just fine before this caca-fest came along. I haven't yet decided if Kristen is gone, either of her own accord or Bravo's. She certainly was the chatty cathy at the reunion, wasn't she? /sarcasm font -
Due to the truncated summer hours where I work, I only "get" to watch about the last 15 minutes or so every Friday. Other than Fluke's big goodbye (which actually commenced on the following Monday, if I understand correctly), I haven't actually watched any part of this show for many years. (Possibly as far back as the 2nd Bush administration.) And, if I'm being perfectly honest, I don't really read/lurk on this board a whole lot anymore because the storylines and character [assassination] y'all talk about downright depresses me. I used to literally run home from the school bus stop to be sure I caught the opening scene, which typically took place at the HOSPITAL or in the Webber's living room or perhaps Scotty's disco. (Yes, I'm old.) So, why the hell am I here now? Because you folks taking one for the proverbial team by watching this dreck and sharing your beautiful snark does bring a smile to my face. You are all far better at cohesive storytelling about characters we actually know than any of the poo-flinging monkeys in that writing room. So, thank you dear posters of PTV for bringing me the only joy left associated with this show. ps - Does anyone know who killed John McSilas? (I just found out he was out. Always the last to know.)

I thought she looked familiar! And though I didn't recognize her when she was onscreen, Brynn Thayer (Jenny from OLTL) was the outgoing governor's wife. Reunions all around! Now bring back Avi.

Suicide? Accidental overdose? Not sure, don't really care. What I really want to know is who stole the money bag from the wedding?

Kyle Richards sighting: Due to the glory of insomnia, at around a quarter after three this morning, I found a little gem on Lifetime that had Kyle's name in the credits, so of course I immediately turned to it. And strike me dead if I am lying, the scene showing when I turned to that channel had Kyle['s character] pointing her Bony Finger of Judgment at the drug stealing sister assuming her comatose sister's identity. She was murdered, off screen, in a subsequent scene. Lawd, I couldn't make this shit up if I was V.C. Andrews. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1849751/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_5 And, appropos of absolutely no shade a'tall, LeAnne Rimes is the guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race this week. RuPaul, supposed good friend of SatanAndy. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm...

S05.E19: The Party's Over
SomeJabroni replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Mozelle - that is almost verbatim what I said during her little pity party with Lisa. I know it's been said many times over, in much wittier ways, but GreatDayInTheMorning! that woman has no class a'tall. Hopefully Lisar can take over as the resident drama queen and Brandi can go kick rocks. Re: your second paragraph; not to sound glib or anything, but the man is dying of cancer. A few drinks at this point probably isn't going to really affect the remainder of his life all too much. In fact, just by virtue of hanging out with Kim and someone who sleeps with DrunkOtis, I feel almost compelled to send him a drink myself. -
Kyle Richards: Pantene Poster Girl
SomeJabroni replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
WireWrap - thanks for the info re: the botox. I knew about the lipo, but the botox slipped by beaddled brain. And please don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to give her some kind of backhanded 'compliment'. She (Kyle) does NOT have that shiny, botoxy, chipmunk look that so many others have acquired. And personally, I never thought there was anything wrong with her shape before the lipo; it was more her inability to dress to accentuate her better features. This season, esp. the boat scene with the non-smoky eye and red lip, Kyle is looking pretty good. A definite improvement over previous seasons. -

SomeJabroni replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Though I do think Kyle is looking much better this season, I was just gonna post that about her liposuction. And if all she's done to her face is a nose job, I'll eat my hat. Not that she looks plastic-y, but she is remarkably unlined for a "menopausal mama." What is she - 45 or so? -
S05.E17: Amster-Damn Slap
SomeJabroni replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Oh, Brandi. Last week's tantrum, reminding Kyle DON'T TOUCH ME!, followed by drunkenly pushing and slapping the Queen of Pink, coupled with your 'gangsta' lingo replete with hand gestures... Don't ever change. When you do finally get arrested for assaulting someone (or DUI, or public intox, or possession, or ...), you can totally be the Standup Commodian of Cellblock C. Basic bint. -
S10.E07: Mac Kills His Dad
SomeJabroni replied to Galileo908's topic in It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
This episode gets a hearty two thumbs up from me! The side characters on this show are freakin' beautiful ("Daddy says I'm too fat to be a slut." I die.) and the Ponderosas, once again, provide that special warped touch to the depravity already present in "The Gang." Everything with Mac's dad's plot, especially Charlie's mom's story (was she implying Dirty Sanchez there, because that's totally where my mind went), made me literally cackle with glee. Mac's dad is so awesomely terrifying; I'd really like to see the backstory on how he and Mrs. Mac got together. Recently discovered factoid: Charlie's mom (Lynne Marie Stewart) played Miss Yvonne, the most beautiful woman in puppetland, way back when on The PeeWee Herman Show. I think I love her even more now. All that hilarity aside, my favorite bit was the whole Maureen Ponderosa being plastic surgeried into a cat lady. The gang's suggestions to her - "Get some fur." "You should get a tail." "Why not go whole hog and start wearing human sweatshirts?" coupled with her placid agreement, done in cat-voice, did me in. I must have watched that scene half a dozen times. Well done, show. Well. done. Now bring on the McPoyles! -
S05.E15: Welcome To Amsterdam?
SomeJabroni replied to Chrissytd's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
After all the discussion of Lisa's butt, I had to take a gander for myself. It looks to me like she is using those contoured type Spanx (kinda like the equivalent of a padded bra). During this ridiculous Scavenger Hunt, she's running or moving in a way that reminded me of backstage at a drag show...or should I say her butt did. They just don't look like implants to me. -
DianeMars - No, I'm not really what one would call a swimmer, but I see what you're saying. ETA: I forgot to mention this, but within the confines of a locker/shower/changing room, a tampon string sighting is not inappropriate (IMO) nor would it make me say, "Ewwww." or any such thing. And maybe I go to the wrong athletic clubs, but chances are the strings you saw during swim season probably weren't attached to drunken, hate spewing degenerates. Plus, you also stated that you're a "nice girl," which Brandi is definitely not. By any stretch of the imagination. :) NC socialworker and HaydenSterling - Thank you ladies(?) for much better articulating what I was trying to say. It isn't that a tampon string or menses are inherently revolting, it's as NCSocialworker so succintly put it: The freak out comes from her being so inebriated that she can't abide by social norms about what personal hygiene practices are kept private. Plus her own gleeful willingness to call out other HWs for the same kind of shit (Pillow in Paris, anyone?).
-
I think the reason her tampon string hanging out is considered *worse* is because it just further illustrates what a sloppy, drunken mess this 40+ year old, mother-of-two really is. Having followed this show (and the tabloids/boards that go along with it), I have seen Brandi in various stages of drunken disorderliness with myriad wardrobe malfunctions. Hell, just about any sentient person in the country has seen various drunken 'celebrities' in varying stages of intoxication and undress. In my almost 50 years on this Earth, I have NEVER seen another woman's tampon string dangling. Celebrity or civilian. Not even in art class. IDK, it just really grossed me out.
