Congratulations @CouchTater! Good news: Friday was my dad’s birthday. He is responding wonderfully to treatment right now, and is feeling pretty good. We spent part of the day with him yesterday and took him an ice cream cake. He does like his ice cream.

See it's a shame we don't have a picture of that. I would be starstruck. -

I'm still giggling over the defense claiming the prosecution was "starstruck" over this smug slimeball... -
My quest to finish Project Yank the Uterus is still dragging on. The shots did not work-the fibroids did not shrink. So I was referred to a doctor in St Louis, the hospital here can no longer accommodate my surgery. I saw her yesterday. She would like an MRI before proceeding, due to some odd symptoms. So now I have to try to get that going. I appreciate that she is being cautious, but right now I'm angry. Not at her, or my OB/GYN here. But I started telling doctors about symptoms years ago. Years. They would do ultrasounds, and tell me yes I had fibroids, and later on that yes I had more/were bigger/both, but then would tell me I must be overdramatic due to the fact I possess a vagina, or let's discuss the fact that I'm not a single-digit size. I could have had this done when it was a very easy procedure. Even if I could have done it in Feb (thanks, Covid), it was going to be a harder surgery. Now it's complicated, and potentially even more complicated. And it didn't have to be like this. Thanks for letting me rant. :)

I feel like I need a framed sampler of this displayed in my house... -
Trick or treat was last night in our new town. We had no idea how many to prepare for. The answer is 3, but they came back twice. They thought if they took their masks off the second round I wouldn’t notice. I did, but didn’t care. We still have plenty of candy. Oh, and one boy told me our house was bitchin’. I didn’t know that word was still in use. 😂🤣😂

The Lonely Js Club: Jana, Jason, James, Jackson & Johannah

In the People article, the entire last paragraph is about Josh. It made me feel a little bad for Jer, he had no choice in being Sibling of Sex Pest. -

@BetyBee There is a discussion for The Way Down under HBO Documentaries, but only a few comments. I watched it this past weekend. I lived in Nashville for several years, so I knew a small bit about her church. I had no idea how cultish they are. Her plane went down maybe 10ish miles from where I used to live.

Random thoughts on the anniversary post: Renee, it really doesn't take someone special to have 13 children. My grandmother had 14. She was no great shakes as a mother or a grandmother, just a devout Catholic who happened to be fertile. The end. Miscarriages are hard, I've had three. With one I did hemorrhage for hours, losing a lot of blood. But I didn't realize I was supposed to get an exact percentage of how much blood I lost for future reference. Darn. My son is grown and aware of my miscarriages now (he was young and/or not born when they occurred), but we don't discuss them endlessly. Mr Turquoise and I have been through a lot of major stressors in the past year. Yesterday was our anniversary, although not 24 YEARS. I was under the silly impression that anniversaries are a generally happy time, not a time to issue a laundry list of all the ways you've been wronged. I thought The Airing of Grievances was for Festivus?

Mr Turquoise and I road-tripped around the UK and Ireland for our honeymoon a couple years ago. London wasn't my favorite spot, but we did a nighttime Jack the Ripper walking tour, and it was interesting to see the streets/buildings that have not changed much. One funny story-we came to an old wall, and our guide said "business" was often conducted there. Several members of our group were leaning against said wall. He suggested they not, because "old habits die hard". It was hilarious watching them put distance between themselves and the wall. I did like the Tower and Westminster Abbey. We had a marvelous time, but I think the next time we go we will pick a smaller region, and spend more time there.

I started the documentary last night. I now see where Meri is getting her eye makeup ideas...
