  1. We had about 4 minutes of totality. The picture isn't great, the corona appeared much smaller to the eye. This is about 2pm CST. Wish there was a way to capture the quality of the light, it defies description. Was almost dead silent in our little town except for a few people cheering and one set of fireworks.image.png.9766e2ee93aa1bc3e420427967adb1e8.png

Y'all ready for the eclipse tomorrow? Our area is in the 90s percentage range so not total, but close. ☀️🌑😎

This is year end for us, so not taking whole day off but will go out long enough to view (in southern Illinois, so path of totality). I lived in Nashville for the 2017 one, so fun that I've been in the path twice now.

  3. Happy Easter Small Talkers!

This is going to be an odd holiday for us. We spring cleaned last weekend and left the house exactly twice all weekend. At one of those places we managed to find Covid. I started in late Wednesday evening. I think the worst is over for me (Mr. started later), but still symptomatic so will be here. I'm sad about missing the gathering at my parents', and I won't see my grands. I always put together an egg hunt for them, and all the stuff is here. My son has assured me that we can do it another time and they'll still be just as happy.

It's warm and sunny here, so yesterday I sat on the porch glider with my book. The fresh air and sun helped, so I will do it again today and maybe it will chase a bit of the blahs away. Hope everyone here has a good day!

  4. TMZ is hitting on a major pet peeve of mine. I don't know why the fact that someone was desperate enough to feel like this was their only option isn't enough. There are people who feel entitled to all the details. Over the years I have encountered several people who have asked for method used, and those requests are always denied. I'm old enough now to have experienced a fairly wide range of deaths, and suicide has been the worst. I didn't have to face nearly the scrutiny his family is dealing with right now, I hurt so much for them.

  5. I just saw this. How tragic. Poor Janelle, and his siblings. I lost a brother to suicide almost 11 years ago, so I understand how they are feeling. Except I had the benefit of not being in a fishbowl.
He seemed like a gentle, kind soul. Rest in peace Garrison.

Today wouldve been my godmother's 74th birthday. My Mom is sad, and shared some throwback memories on Facebook. I promised her I would take good care of Cosmo and I think I have kept my promise, I seem to have got him on a good course of meds for this arthritis, but I need to order the restock of the medicine sooner, it doesnt come as quickly as the other items from Chewy.

You have given Cosmo a good life, the answer is yes you have kept your promise.

We recently had to put ours on arthritis meds too, and get a couple set of stairs (chihuahua). He only takes half a pill a day so a bottle lasts a good while, but may have to look into what it would cost with Chewy. Getting them from my vet right now.

And we're going to have to wait TWO weeks for the next episode (insert poop emoji here).

I thought at the end of the episode 5 preview at the end it said it was airing on Friday (9th) instead of Sunday? I figured they didn't want to compete with the Super Bowl.

  8. Someone did comment on her bathroom post. They thought the decorating was cute (ugh), but asked how she manages to clean/dust it all. No response yet from Jillybean, Master Decorator.

Edited to add: I am totally saying this part in my mind in the style of Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute. IYKYK

If Jill lost 60% of her blood during her labor with Olivia. Shouldn’t Jill be dead??? And I assume the baby wouldn’t make it either.

I am definitely not a medical person at all. Just wondering and using common sense.

I'm an accountant not a doctor or nurse so I may not know all proper terminology. But many years ago now had a miscarriage that involved hemorrhaging. They tried to stop things in the ER but ended up rushing me to surgery because my blood pressure was tumbling. I was so dizzy just being pushed down the hall that I was ill. I did not lose 60% of my blood.

Also, my son was 3 at the time. I lost a baby before him and another one when he was in kindergarten. On birthday posts I have referred to him as a miracle, with no other explanation (anyone who's close to us knows what I mean by that). When I make birthday posts about him or now my 4 grandbabies I talk about THEM. It is THEIR day.
