  1. No one who wears box braids will tell you that it's their real hair... Side note: I do find it very problematic to see people comment on the hair style that naturally comes from a black woman's head and her choice to wear a protective style like box braids.
  2. I agree. He'll definitely get there (that quad lutz is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in singles skating), but Jason going to the Olympics was the right call.
  3. Timothy uses they/them pronouns.
  4. A number of reasons (please correct me if I'm wrong): 1. Rumor has it that James knew what Cipres was doing and kept quiet because *winning!*. She says she didn't know, but who knows the truth about it. 2. This is not 100% clear, but I hope this is the gist of it. Radford and Duhamel talked about doing skating shows after retirement, and I believe the conversation was that Radford was retiring from skating all together. Then came the announcement of the J/R pairing and Radford never told Duhamel about it beforehand. He messed with her ability to earn money from skating because it's not like she can just up and skate with another retired partner like that. 3. J/R were terrible at Canadian Nationals, but they knew that no matter what happened, they were going to the Olympics anyway (because the Canadian Federation are morons). I believe James even bragged about it after the short program. And they finished 5th or 6th.
  5. I don't think that's unpopular at all. I'm watching the Four Continents Free Dance, and I don't get it with Carreira/Ponomarenko. LIke, how did they regress so much after having the potential to be the third US team? Is Scott Moir the coach for them?
  6. The sad reality is that her career is over. Medvedeva is the prime example. She switched to Orser, tried fixing her jump technique, and she never made it out of Russian Nationals after the Olympics.
  7. Johnny said that Sasha thinks she should have won, I guess? I do think both things can be true with Kamila, that she was told to throw it and she buckled under pressure. What a shitshow this is.
  8. There’s a part of me that wonders that as well. Like, I have no doubt that all of this got to her mentally, but it wouldn’t surprise me if she was told to fall on the sword. What a miserable end to this.
  9. What do you think? Bronze or off the podium?
  10. Ugh… it’s going to be a Russian sweep, isn’t it? No, I don’t think Anna and Sasha are clean either.
  11. I caved and I watched her short program. Everything about it is a farce, from the fact that she's still there to that BS score she got. I had no sympathy for her tears. None.
  12. Oh absolutely. Considering how much he propped up Russian skating with having a Russian coach, many Russian choreographers, it's not surprising that he feels devastated by what happened. At the same time, I'm like Russia has been doping their athletes for years, what makes you think figure skating was above that?
  13. *cough* Mykayla Skinner winning a medal on vault *cough*
  14. I get Billie Eilish as there are a ton of street jazz routines to her music, but Kiss! Kiss?!?! Absolutely not. There are so many amazing hip hop choreographers out there. Only P/C understood the assignment.
  15. The disappointing part is that even if Valieva was banned, Scherbakova and Trusova are favorites to win. No doubt in my mind that they're doping too.
