  1. Maybe so they'd be nice and hungry for the eating portion of the final. *hurl*
  2. I wouldn't say The Challenge is their life. Neither of them has been around for a few seasons now. Jordan is arrogant as hell but I love to watch him play. He's an amazing competitor. Plus he really gets under Cara's skin, which is also a bonus. In my opinion, if they win, they deserve to crow about it. People have been gunning for them for a while now but they keep beating the odds (Tori against Jenny in Hall Brawl and now this latest win by Jordan in a tug of war against someone far bigger and he only has ONE HAND). They walk the talk, no doubt about it.
  3. I don't even find the wrapping paper all that pretty. Maybe if she opened her eyes wider than slits ever. I think Anastasia is the prettiest chef stew chef cast member this season. (I do agree with whoever said above that she is obviously already a chef and that entire story line was manufactured.)
  4. I don't think girls necessarily shit on Colin, but you're right that he is forever friend-zoned. He does seem like a good guy and very nice, but you have to have SOME game to get the ladies. And I feel like he has none. He's too wholesome for this show.
  5. As a supervisor or someone in charge (or probably his parent), Jack would drive me batty. As a person sitting on my couch watching Below Deck, I find Jack very entertaining. He's not malicious or mean-spirited at all, he's just lazy. Some of his comments regarding the women are definitely borderline inappropriate but I do find myself laughing at most of the stuff he says. Someone said above that when someone asks him to do something he does seem to do it so he's not totally inept. I know there's a lot of love for Colin but I find him to be such a dweebus maximus. Was he really trying to hit on June?? First of all, keep dreaming, buddy, and second of all, WHY. She's so spacy and weird and unattractive and I'm surprised that Colin would be into that. Then again, I have a feeling Colin would take what he can get. I also don't get Jack's attraction to "I was curious so I dug out my poo with my own hand" Aesha, so what do I know.
  6. I'm outing myself here by admitting I watched Floribama Shore, but I ADORED Gus on that show. He is not perfect by any means, but I went in prepared to hate him and he quickly became my favorite cast member. He really does seem like a stand-up guy and I was worried he was almost too pure for The Challenge. He's extremely emotional and cries easily and I was afraid he'd be eaten alive. I said before this season even started that Gus and Jenna would make a fantastic couple and I was over the moon when they ended up being paired together. Also, fun fact: He's a model for romance cover novels (but not for much longer if he keeps beating up his face lol)
  7. I hate Amanda with the fire of a thousand suns but I don't agree with anybody being bulled. However, if this is the incident that gets her to quit the show forever, well...let's just say I won't shed any tears over her absence.
  8. Yeah, that is no surprise at all. And oooof, that is not a flattering picture of Kortni. Calm down on the mascara/false lashes, girl.
  9. Is "girlie man" supposed to be an insult? A guy who acts like a girl? Because there are plenty of women out there who are killing wildlife and surviving just fine. While I agree that as a survivalist, it seems a bit odd that he's lamenting the killing of his food to the degree that he is, it seems to me like calling him a girl should be more of a compliment.
  10. I particularly liked how Mary said that she was an excellent baker and her friends always told her that she should do it professionally, but when they showed her actually baking something it was Funfetti cake mix out of a box.
  11. I know what Derek said was really inappropriate, but I'm not gonna lie - I laughed. I think it's because I dislike Heather so much that I'm willing to give Derek more slack than I normally would. I think Nick and Sonia are adorable. I think he is as into her as she is into him - he's just shy and not rushing anything. The fact that he went and bought that cute little present bag for her speaks volumes. Tom and Lilly - well, I think I'll appreciate their segments more when they're not constantly locked at the lips. Also, I gotta say - my husband is bald and wears a baseball cap on backwards a lot when we're on vacation (and only when we're on vacation, incidentally). He wants to protect his head but he doesn't always like the bill in the front. He's the most polite, non-douchey person you'll ever meet so I'm not quite sure why so many seem to think that because Derek wears his cap backwards, it means he's an immature man-child. Maybe Derek IS an immature man-child, but wearing his hat backwards is not indicative of that.
  12. I guess the rumors about Julia giving handjobs were correct - at least insofar as it relates to Steven. Did anyone else catch him giving her the hand lotion as they were snuggling into bed? I also don't understand what the obsession is with her. Is she that great at giving handjobs? And she does have a weird, square, smile. Gio is disturbing. Seriously frightening and disturbing. He's done a lot of creepy things but the one thing that really stands out to me and gives me the shivers is the way he grabbed Francesca's throat when he was kissing her on the bench. Like he wrapped his whole hand around her throat and pulled her toward him. I could hardly even watch his dramatic crying (and drooling!) when he discovered Julia wasn't his match. The secondhand embarrassment was too strong.
  13. Thanks for this recommendation. We caught the first episode and it does seem kind of interesting. I don't really care for the Naked and Afraid style of narrating ("The contestants have to make their way through BRUTAL terrain filled with MAN-EATING COUGARS and DEADLY SNAKES, etc., etc.) but you're right, the group dynamic is interesting. They really, REALLY need to stop calling themselves "the herd" though. On topic: I go back and forth on Fuckin' Larry. Sometimes I think he's hilarious and sometimes I think he needs a Valium. But I have to give him credit - every time I think he's going to rage quit, he comes back with a calm demeanor and solves whatever problem he's having at the moment.
  14. YES! YES YES YES. I told my husband that I was biased against her from the start because she reminds me of Farrah, but he didn't see it. It's her voice or the inflections of her voice or something. Not that she's not annoying in her own right (what the hell was that walk down the wedding aisle??) but having her sound like Farrah just seals the hate deal for me.
