Wow. I had forgotten that whole Jeremy wanting a “meek” wife thing. Yep, I am definitely not judging him harshly enough…
-
I wonder how many times since that moment Jinger has looked back and thought, “should have trusted my gut.” That is sad on many levels. Every time I think maybe I have judged Jeremy too harshly I read something like, “Ben, take a picture of me, because I have been on a journey!!!” And then I think perhaps I’m not judging him enough. I note that Jeremy says nothing about loving or missing her. Just that he wasted his time. That’s so…romantic. Yikes.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Yikes. That hadn’t even occurred to me, probably because I always assume Duggars don’t really have friends, just fans or lesser-thans they enjoy condescending to. I would assume it takes a special kind of bond (eyeroll) to have co-conspirators in CP. Okay, I tried very hard to resist and I think I lasted a whole five minutes…what??? -

IIRC, they have some house that’s next to a massive landfill…? -

Does anybody really have any faith in Josh’s word for anything at this point? He’s shown a pretty good track record of letting his compulsions rule his behavior, damn the consequences to anyone. The Duggars have approximately a zillion little kids around. Who’s going to make sure none of them get anywhere near their uncle if he’s right there on the property, especially since Ma and Pa don’t really think they answer to anyone who isn’t God or Gothard, and maybe not even them? -

That’s kind of where I was heading with wondering how much liability JB takes on if he bails Josh out. I would imagine the thought of handing Josh a bunch of cash and a beater car and telling him to head to Mexico and stay there has crossed JB’s mind more than once. The hitch in that plan is Anna and the grandchildren. She isn’t going to give up on Joshie, ever, and it’s not the kids’ fault that their daddy is a giant ass and that they have too many siblings to feed. -

Does anyone know what the percentage of the bail money that JB will have to actually shell out to get his Best Boy out of jail pending trial? It seems like I remember it being less than the actual amount the bond is set for? But maybe that’s for lesser crimes in lesser courts? -

Except I would assume officially he won’t have internet access. Nothing to do but watch regular cable and listen to the cicadas…if he’s wearing a monitoring device they’ll know if he even walks down to the mailbox. -

Yikes. That Hutchens creep has the same arrogant smirk in his mugshot that Josh does in his. -
That’s certainly been my experience. Often with the author reading excerpts first. Maybe this is because of Covid? Sure. Why not. Let’s say it’s Covid. Otherwise there would be lots of maybe five people there.

And fix Jeremy’s teeth!!! It’s a miracle!

This is just…so…Jeremy. To clarify, he’s not responsible, but it’s so like him to have the appearance of doing something but having it not really happen. It’s his real brand, actually.

What I don’t understand is the logic that spouses can’t be compelled to testify against their spouses, right? Presumably because of the inherent conflict between truth and loyalty. But it’s okay to assume a spouse would babysit their spouse responsibly while they’re out on bail? I am confused. Oh, please. Put him in a baseball hat and he’s identical to a million other fat guys from Arkansas. Or any state, really. Give me a break. -

If anyone bothers to check out how well Josh “took care of” Anna when she was in labor, they’d know this is a big old crock. And it’s on tape. -
I dunno about where they live, but in some places the first lien holder (i.e. a mortgage lender) is listed on the property records along with the owner of record.

Next up…the sequel: “Meals I Have Eaten,” by Jeremy Vuolo.

I wonder, though…his “I am the first-borne, bow down ye peasants,” status took a pretty big hit after the second scandal. If JB really tightened his leash, I could definitely see Josh sneaking around to make sure he was still getting the money that in his mind he was entitled to. He’s apparently tech savvy, he has a lot of free time, he’s a known sneak, and I suspect he resents JB almost as much as he needs him. -
Hey, he’s a born lawyer. I say this as the only person in my family of origin who isn’t an attorney. I didn’t win a single family argument in thirty years.

There’s no “deep” in which to dive, FFS. Honestly, who do you have to be to think your life at all of 35 is so aspirational as to deserve a memoir? He’s done pretty much zero, if you don’t count a minor gift for latching on to the coattails of the infamous. Such a putz.

Is it possible Derrick signed an NDA at some point, which is why he’s dancing around the edges on SM?

By her logic, any man who ever drives by a beach is going to get divorced. Oy.
